Ferrero Rocher and Raffaello Tablets outperform in groundbreaking indulgence study

Khaleej Times29-05-2025

As part of their regional launch in the GCC, Ferrero Rocher and Raffaello Tablets, brands synonymous with indulgence, have taken a bold step into the world of science to redefine how we experience indulgence. Their mission? To measure indulgence in numbers, delivering tangible proof of their commitment to sensory delight.
In partnership with MyndPlay, pioneers in neuroscience and emotion-tracking technology, Ferrero Rocher and Raffaello Tablets embarked on a groundbreaking study that blended cutting-edge technology with timeless sensory experiences. Using EEG technology, the experiment sought to decode how the human brain reacts to refined sensory stimuli.
Participants – including some of the region's most prominent media figures and influencers such as Brianna Fade, Mohammad Ismael, Ahmad Qassem, Jad Chehayeb from Dubai TV, Alanoud Badr, Nirvana Abdul, Maryam Zehi, Mashael Jamal, Rahaf Al Harbi, and Zeynab El Helw – were guided through an immersive exploration of the five senses. Each sense was tested with meticulously curated stimuli: a private violin performance for sound, a golden skyline for sight, soft sand for touch, the rich aroma of oud for smell, and a curated coffee-tasting experience to awaken the palate. With each encounter, the EEG device recorded precise pleasure points, creating a numerical map of indulgence.
Once participants had completed these sensory experiences, they were introduced to a new and unexpected indulgence: Ferrero Rocher and Raffaello Tablets.
Blindfolded and fitted with EEG headsets, participants first unwrapped, touched, smelled, and finally tasted the creamy, nut-filled Ferrero Rocher and the delicately fragrant, coconut-encrusted Raffaello Tablets. As the blindfolds were removed, they visually absorbed the iconic golden Ferrero Rocher and the radiant, coconut-dusted Raffaello Tablets, marveling at their exquisite presentation. Reactions ranged from quiet awe to enthusiastic praise, with several participants declaring the experience 'unlike anything else.'
The findings were clear and conclusive: Ferrero Rocher and Raffaello Tablets delivered the highest peak indulgence scores of any sensory experience tested. With an unprecedented level of prolonged indulgence measured at every step of the sensorial journey, the Tablets outperformed all other stimuli combined. Participants unanimously declared the Tablets as their favorite indulgent experience, with many ranking it far above even their second choice, the live violin performance.
This experiment coincides with the launch of Ferrero Rocher and Raffaello Tablets in the GCC, marking a new chapter for the iconic brands. Designed to elevate the chocolate experience, Ferrero Rocher Tablets are available in Original, Dark, and Hazelnut and Almond varieties, while Raffaello Tablets combine white chocolate, coconut, and crunchy almonds. With their blend of textures, aromas, and flavors, these Tablets promise to deliver the most indulgent moments, one bite at a time.

Historic Sharjah site is candidate for Unesco World Heritage status

A site in Sharjah where evidence of human habitation dating back more than 210,000 years has been found is a candidate for Unesco World Heritage status. Faya, an ancient archaeological site of huge significance in the Arabian Peninsula, is among 30 sites being considered by the UN's cultural body. Unesco's World Heritage committee will now make a decision at its 47th session to be held from July 7 to 16 in Paris. The Sharjah site is what is known as a palaeolandscape, providing insights into how early humans lived, migrated, and adapted to environments. Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi is the official ambassador of the emirate's Unesco World Heritage nomination file. 'Faya offers one of the oldest and most complete records of early human presence in Arabia, dating back over 210,000 years - a living archive that deepens our understanding of who we are, where we came from, and how we have learnt to survive,' said Sheika Bodour, in remarks carried by state news agency Wam last month. 'The Faya palaeolandscape's nomination for Unesco World Heritage status highlights the importance of preserving these ancient sites, not only for their historical value but for their potential to educate future generations. As ambassador, I see this nomination as an opportunity to elevate Faya as a shared inheritance for all people around the world." Research pays off The Faya Range, a chain of limestone outcrops known in Arabic as jebels, can be considered a natural barrier between the Rub Al Khali desert to its west and the Dhaid-Madam plain to its east. The area is rich in resources such as flint and freshwater springs, which made human settlements there. There is evidence of human tools, life and burials. Scientists say the environment and people's way of living changed over thousands of years in the area. 'Over 30 years of meticulous research and collaboration led by our national mission and experts with international experts have revealed 18 distinct archaeological layers from the Stone Age, bringing to light an intricate history of human evolution, adaptation and survival right here in Sharjah,' said Eisa Yousif, director of the Sharjah Archaeology Authority, in remarks also carried by Wam. 'As we advance Faya's Unesco World Heritage nomination, it is important to emphasise that our collaborative efforts have made this a global project; one that connects the past with the present more strongly, adding to the rich global corpus of archaeological discoveries. This property, therefore, holds immense value for the world - not just Sharjah and the UAE," he added. Faya was added to Unesco's tentative list in 2023. The UAE has developed a comprehensive management plan for the Faya Palaeolandscape, which will guide its conservation, research, and visitor engagement from 2024 to 2030, Wam said. This plan aligns with Unesco's World Heritage standards, ensuring that the site is preserved while also allowing for continued exploration and education. The UAE has currently one site on the heritage list. The cultural sites of Al Ain (Hafit, Hili, Bidaa Bint Saud and Oases Areas) were collectively added in 2011. Unesco's meeting, meanwhile, will also see it examine the extension of two sites already on the list and will review of the state of conservation of 248 sites already inscribed. To date, it has inscribed 1,223 cultural and natural sites in 168 countries on the World Heritage list.

'More than ceremony': UAE minister honours 50 people of determination upon graduating

Fifty young men and women with disabilities walked proudly across the stage in Ajman, celebrating a moment many thought might never come - they were graduating. The Ministry of Family held a special ceremony at the Cultural Centre in Ajman to honour 50 students, all of whom completed training at disability care and rehabilitation centres across the UAE. The graduates came from Dubai, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Dibba Fujairah. For the first time, they were joined by students from the 'Mashaghel Rehabilitation Centres' vocational training programme, creating a shared celebration of hard work and progress. Sana Suhail, Minister of Family, honoured each graduate personally. These students had taken a path that required strength, not just physically, but emotionally. Through their academic and professional training, they showed that disabilities do not stop dreams. Their journey has become an example for many others. She praised the graduates for their determination and commitment. She emphasised that this achievement stands as a testament to their unwavering will and the profound positive impact of these programmes, which aim to build a more inclusive and equitable society. 'The event was more than a ceremony. It was a sign of what's possible when people of determination are given support and encouragement. It showed the importance of believing in their abilities and creating spaces where they can learn, grow, and contribute,' she said. The ceremony was a celebration and reinforcement of inclusion and empowerment. It highlighted the importance of investing in the capabilities of people of determination and providing a supportive environment for them to contribute effectively to the nation's development. It also showcases the Ministry of Family's important work in promoting social inclusion and ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, and jobs for people of determination, in line with the National Policy for Empowering Persons with Disabilities. The Ministry of Family operates several rehabilitation centres for people of determination across different emirates, including Dubai, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Dibba Al-Fujairah. These centres work with individuals aged 4 to 18, offering customised education and training. Once students complete the programme, they can move into vocational work, take on small projects, or prepare to enter the job market. One programme, called the 'Mashaghel Rehabilitation Centres Programme,' gives people of determination training in entrepreneurship and home-based business skills. It helps them work towards independence and learn how to run their own small projects or businesses from home.
