Rap icon Snoop Dogg has unveiled his plans to launch a pop-up burger joint at Celtic Park - aiming to serve up top-notch bacon cheeseburgers to the Hoops faithful.
The hip-hop heavyweight and long-time Celtic supporter is keen to personally dish out the grub at Parkhead, telling the Sunday Mail: "There has always been the opinion that food at sports stadiums is never good but that ain't got to be the case." Snoop, who's also known for his culinary skills, expressed his desire to shake up stadium food.
He said: "People know that Snoop is a cook and I would love to bring a pop up burger to a sports stadium to show fans that food at stadiums can be good." And he's set his sights on Celtic Park, saying: "It's got to be Celtic Park man, I mean where else am I going to bring it."
The 'Gin and Juice' rapper shared his recipe for success. He said: "The secret to a good burger is the love in the preparation. The ground beef has got to be mixed with some secret spices, then add a good quality cheese and some maple cured bacon."
Snoop is confident the Celtic crowd will be impressed, saying: "The Celtic fans are gonna love it, and to make sure they are just right, Snoop is going to be serving them himself." At 53, Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jnr, has not only made waves in music but also in the food world, appearing on cooking shows with Martha Stewart and releasing his own cookbook, 'From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg's Kitchen'.
He's even considered teaming up with Rangers-supporting celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay for a restaurant venture, jokingly noting Ramsay's penchant for profanity, reports the Daily Record. He said: "I have told him I want to open a restaurant with him and maybe it might even be in Glasgow.
"For real – we are always swapping cooking tips and I do mean swapping. It's not just one way traffic, I send him tips as well – he respects Snoop as chef.
"My boy Gordon has got a worse mouth than me but that's only because of his passion. Am I going to bring my burgers to Rangers as well? Nah, I think we will give that a miss!".
"I have told him I want to open a restaurant with him and maybe it might even be in Glasgow." Celtic Park is known for its innovative culinary offerings. In 2023, Smokey Trotters Kitchen, a popular street food eatery based in Glasgow's Barras Market, introduced Katsu Fries at the stadium - chips topped with salt and chilli chicken, cheese, curry sauce, crispy onions and coriander.
Scheme Poutine - fries loaded with haggis, cheese, crispy onions and then peppercorn sauce - also became a favourite with fans.

Dee Devlin posts on social media for first time since McGregor punch incident

Dee Devlin has taken to social media for the first time since Conor McGregor was involved in an alleged incident at a nightclub in Ibiza. The UFC star's fiancée shared a number of photos on her Instagram story that McGregor had posted on his own social media account. They show the couple and their children enjoying the sunshine on holiday. Some of the images show them enjoying a meal, while others show them making their way to McGregor's luxury yacht, which is understood to be currently off the coast of Majorca, where the Dubliner met Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers in recent days. Taking to social media on Friday evening, McGregor shared a snap of himself with the Hoops boss, who was holding a baby in the picture. "LEGENDARY DOUBLE CHAMP LINK UP! NEXT YEAR, TREBLE! GOD IS GREAT! @CelticFC @ufc Congrats to the Rodgers family on the new addition to their family," McGregor wrote. Another image showed the couple cycling on bikes, while Devlin was all smiles as she enjoyed a glass of red wine. The Sun released footage during the week that allegedly showed the Dubliner appearing to peer down to address an unidentified man in the middle of the dancefloor at Pacha nightclub. Moments later, the former two-weight UFC champion appeared to throw two punches. The man hit the deck, and eyewitnesses have since come forward to have their say on the alleged incident. One person - who saw the incident unfold - claimed there did not appear to be any consequences for McGregor. "The guy seemed to fall to the floor, and his mates came to pick him up and get him away," he told The Sun. "There [didn't appear to be any] consequences for Conor." Another said: "About five people fell to the floor as the guy stumbled back. It was a bit like bowling pins, but the guy was really shaken." They added: "About a minute later, the bouncers came and got him on the back and took him out of the club." "It was right before close anyway," they continued. "There was no messing around; they just removed him. Conor left through the garden a bit later; he didn't look very happy." The incident occurred just hours after McGregor was spotted on the island with Katie Price. The MMA superstar was seen in red shorts, a cap, and sunglasses, enjoying a cigar. Price shared an Instagram photo with McGregor with the caption: "You legend," while McGregor gave her a nod in his story, writing: "Forever." Spurs' player Kevin Danso also posted a picture with the former featherweight and lightweight UFC champion on his social media. McGregor later updated his social media, writing on X: "You won't speak bad about my country and its people and that's ever. Vote McGregor." He later showed off some snaps on Instagram, including one with a group of lads and another where he's standing under a picture of Al Pacino from the famed 1983 film Scarface. This wasn't McGregor's first rowdy incident at an Ibiza shindig. Back when he turned 34, three years ago, he stomped on a punter's hat after it was thrown to him for an autograph. McGregor gave the person a mock thumbs up and then hurled jibes their way. McGregor last stepped into the Octagon in 2021 for a tussle with Dustin Poirier, his longstanding adversary. He eyed a UFC comeback against Michael Chandler last year but injuries obtained during training put a pin in those plans. It's still uncertain whether he'll return to competitive action. However, he's been dropping hints about a potential comeback by posting numerous training videos in recent weeks.

Bradley admits leaders Rovers are keen on Masterson coup

Conor Masterson would be of interest to Shamrock Rovers if the former Liverpool centre-back was to become available. Masterson (26) was in Tallaght on Friday to watch the Hoops swell their lead at the top of the table to 11 points following a 4-1 mauling of Cork City. He's just completed his season at English League Two Gillingham but is out of contract next week and yet to agree to an extension. Previously, he featured in the Championship for Queen's Park Rangers and was once part of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool first-team squad. He famously joined the Reds from his local Lucan United club in 2014 on a record package of €525,000. The defender from Celbridge has options to move up a tier to League One but both Damien Duff and Stephen Kenny are interested in bringing him to Shelbourne and St Patrick's Athletic respectively ahead of their European campaigns. Masterson was a regular during Kenny's year in charge of Ireland's U21s. Hoops boss Stephen Bradley was asked about the presence of Masterson as a club guest and while he stressed no talks have occurred he'd be open to exploring the prospect. Bradley has an embarrassment of riches in terms of squad depth, able to rest Jack Byrne, Graham Burke, Matt Healy and Lee Grace ahead from Friday with the derby against Bohemians in mind. Retaining freshness is his priority, evidenced by his strike force bolstered by the capture of Irish League sensation John McGovern from Dungannon Swifts. He'll be available after the window opens on June 1, the same date Masterson can join alternative employers. 'Look, Conor is a good player and there's no getting away from that,' admitted Bradley. 'He has been that since he was 14 years of age. We all remember that and that hasn't changed. 'We want good players here. I don't know what his plans are, I don't know anything about them and that's being genuine. 'I'm hearing that teams have offered him deals, I don't know how true it is. All I know is we haven't spoken to him. But if it's something that he was coming home, we'd obviously be interested in good players.'

Celtic legend's warning for Irish football fans and Heimir Hallgrimsson record

Former Celtic and Aston Villa legend Stiliyan Petrov notes Ireland's recent form under new management - four wins, four losses and two the former international star has warned against misplaced optimism about the 'win' column as his country accounts for two of those may have been to seven World Cups (finishing 4th in 1994) but they have not been to a major championship since Euro2004 and are practically uncompetitive at present. Recent Bulgaria results include a five-goal defeat against Northern Ireland, four-goal defeats to Greece, Switzerland, a 2-5 reverse at home to Georgia, draws with Belarus twice, Cyprus, Luxembourg..."Bulgarian football is shadowed by corruption and match-fixing and people who depend on political support," says Petrov who made a record 105 appearances and scored eight goals for his country."And this makes it even harder for the younger players, for the coaches and for all the football ecosystem in Bulgarian football to flourish because we've been struggling for many, many years and it seems like we are still struggling."We used to play against teams, against Ireland, against the North, and expect to win, now you can see how far we are behind."We are a football nation and I think the fans and people around football want a change but it seems like people who run the carpentry, do the building, don't want to change and this is the biggest downfall for Bulgarian football." Ranked no3 in the world in June 1995, Bulgaria currently languish at 71st."I'm not surprised they could not win against Ireland, I'm not surprised at all."I mean, our national team, our players, are really struggling to play in the big teams and the big leagues, to create leaders, which was a really big problem for Bulgarian football and this has been going on for the last 20 years."And it seems like there's more people who don't want to change then want to change something for good." As it stands, Ireland have played 10 games since announcing Heimir Hallgrimsson as their new coach on July 10, 2024. The Icelandic-born coach's previous job had been as the Jamaica coach but had tendered his resignation at the end June, 2024, following the Reggae Boyz' poor showing at the Copa America where they shipped three defeats in three pool had been beaten 0-1 by Mexico in their opening game, 1-3 by Ecuador in their second outing and finished with a 0-3 loss to had been high in advance for a squad that carried English Premier players such as West Ham striker Michail Antonio, Fulham's Bobby de Cordova-Reid alongside another half-dozen Championship regulars, the then Clermont-based Shamar Nicholson and with another cohort of players across the Ireland regime started with a 0-2 reverse against England in Dublin followed by another 0-2 defeat in Dublin, this time to next four games provided two wins and two losses, with Ireland completing an home and away double, single goal wins over Finland, but having previous form franked when suffering 0-2 in Greece and 0-5 in next two matches, Nations League play-off games - and the ones the former Bulgaria captain Petrov was specifically referring to - were consecutive 2-1 victories over Bulgaria, firstly in Sofia and then Dublin and, remarkably, earned having gone behind in both recently there were early June, 2025, friendlies against Senegal and Luxembourg, both of which finished as draws and garnered mixed reactions with former Ireland stars Gary Breen and Kevin Kilbane notably immediate programme features 2026 World cup Qualifiers, starting with Hungary at home and Armenia away in September followed by Portugal away and Armenia at home in pool finishes with Portugal at home and Hungary away in November. *Stiliyan Petrov will be featuring in a Premier League XI playing against Ayrfield Utd (founded 1977) at Blunden Drive, Coolock, Dublin, today. The game is a fundraiser for Ayrfield Utd's new clubhouse, youth club and sensory room for neurodivergent children and adults within the community, i.e. people with autism, ADHD, Asperger syndrome. And what a teeam it is!
