Fairhope man arrested on child pornography charges: Baldwin County Sheriff's Office
FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Fairhope man was arrested Monday on a child pornography charge, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office.

According to a BCSO news release, investigators executed a search warrant on Monday, Jan. 27, at the home of Kenneth Greer, 66. An inquiry led investigators to believe Greer possessed child pornography and shared child pornography with others, has learned.
The release said Greer interviewed with investigators, and he admitted to possessing child sexual abusive material. Investigators allegedly linked him to over 3,500 images of child sexual abuse material.
BCSO officials said Greer was arrested and is accused of four counts of possession of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts, which violates Alabama Code 13A-12-192(b).

This investigation included BCSO, the Fairhope Police Department, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency ICAC Task Force, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the Department of Homeland Security Mobile Field Office.

Benton County employee fired after sexual misconduct investigation
BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — An investigation of sexual misconduct in a Benton County detention center has led to the arrest of a jail employee, according to a news release. Matthew Lockard, 42, is facing a charge of sexual assault in the fourth degree. 'Sheriff Holloway is deeply troubled by the actions of this individual and emphasizes that such behavior will not be tolerated,' the press release states. 'He remains proud of the many dedicated men and women of the Benton County Sheriff's Office who continue to serve the citizens of Benton County with integrity and professionalism.' Holloway was notified of alleged inappropriate behavior between Lockard and an inmate on June 17. Sheriff Holloway immediately ordered both an internal and criminal investigation into the matter, the release states. A probable cause affidavit filed on June 20 said a BCSO detective was asked to investigate possible charges associated with a professional standards investigation. The affidfavit listed three incidents where Lockard allegedly touched the inmate inappropriately. Notes were reportedly passed from Lockard to the inmate. The inmate told the detective that they did not give Lockard any notes. Lockard was interviewed and denied the allegations against him. When authorities mentioned the notes, he said they were not from him. After seeing samples of his handwriting, he said it looked 'identical'. He then admitted to passing the notes. Pavlisak is wanted for Violating the Sex Offender Registry, second offense, and New York State Parole Violation. Pavlisak is described as a white man with brown hair and green eyes. Undocumented man to be deported after raping, strangling woman in Delaware County
DELAWARE COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – An undocumented immigrant who lived in Delaware County is being deported after admitting to raping and choking a woman after having been let out of another jail in New York State. 45-year-old Cruz Garcia, who had been living in Fleischmanns, pleaded guilty to strangulation Tuesday in Delaware County Court. According to District Attorney Shawn Smith, Garcia was originally indicted for rape and unlawful imprisonment as well. In July 2023, Garcia forcibly raped the victim and strangled her nearly to the point of losing consciousness. That came just one month after Garcia had been arrested on felony DWI and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation charges in Orange County. Garcia was released according to New York's bail reform laws despite already being wanted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement due to a third, unrelated, and unspecified criminal conviction. Smith accepted the guilty plea in exchange for the time Garcia had already served since his indictment, with the understanding that Garcia would be deported from the country. Smith criticized New York's bail reform law and thanked ICE for its cooperation in the case.
