A's 3B/LF Miguel Andujar (oblique) likely heading to IL
June 2 - Athletics third baseman/left fielder Miguel Andujar sustained right oblique discomfort in Sunday's game and likely will be placed on the injured list, manager Mark Kotsay said after the 8-4 loss to the host Toronto Blue Jays.
The team said Andujar, 30, was hurt while taking a swing and will have an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.
Andujar exited in the bottom of the fifth inning and was replaced at third base by Max Schuemann. Andujar has gotten on base on a fielder's choice in the top of the fifth and later scored on Luis Urias' double.
Andujar went 0-for-2 with one walk and the run. He is batting .296 with three home runs, 20 RBIs, a .328 on-base percentage and .402 slugging percentage in 46 games.
A career .276 hitter, Andujar has 46 homers and 199 RBIs in 419 regular-season games with the New York Yankees (2017-22), Pittsburgh Pirates (2022-23) and Athletics (2024-present).
He was second in the American League Rookie of the Year voting in 2018 when he batted .297 with 27 homers and 92 RBIs in 149 games with the Yankees.

June 20 - The Portland Fire is set to burn bright in the WNBA again as the identity of the expansion team ready to debut in 2026 begins to take shape. According to Front Office Sports, multiple trademark applications have been filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office with the Portland Fire name. The Fire originally made their debut in the Rose City in 2000, but folded after the 2022 season despite strong support. Portland's WNBA entry went 37-59 in its three seasons with its best campaign resulting in a 16-16 record just before folding. "It was such a great franchise that was supported so well by the community," former Fire head coach Linda Hargrove told Front Office Sports. Hargrove was the only head coach the Fire had in their three seasons. The Golden State Valkyries are making their WNBA debut this season, while the Fire are set to return to the league, technically as an expansion team, alongside the new Toronto Tempo next season. Stars sign D Nils Lundkvist to 1-year contract
June 20 - The Dallas Stars re-signed defenseman Nils Lundkvist to a one-year, $1.25 million contract on Friday. Lundkvist, 24, recorded five assists and a plus-4 rating in 39 games this past season. "Nils brings a unique combination of offensive ability and defensive reliability to our lineup," Stars general manager Jim Nill said in a statement. "His puck-moving skills, vision, and hockey sense are assets that elevate our game in transition. We're thrilled to have him back and excited to see how he continues to grow and contribute to our success." Lundkvist has totaled 44 points (nine goals, 35 assists) in 183 career games with the New York Rangers and Stars.
