In the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood, many people come to Mumbai with a suitcase full of dreams and aspirations to make it big on the silver screen. However, there are only a few rare gems that can achieve that massive success and earn such stardom. One such example of this is Bollywood's most celebrated actor, who had a very humble beginning but slowly reached the heights of success that made him one of the most bankable stars of Bollywood
The actor we are talking about is none other than Khilladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar. Long before Akshay Kumar ruled the entertainment industry, he was working in Bangkok, where he was training in martial arts and also used to cook food to make ends meet. Later, he started doing modelling and eventually entered the film industry. His first paycheck as an actor was Rs 50,000, but in his initial days, he was once paid only Rs 5001 for the film Deedar by producer Pramod Chakravorty.
Akshay did many films, some turned out to be a massive hit, while others didn't meet expectations. However, one film that rose him to fame was Saugandh. It was released in the year 1991 and gained him a lot of attention and love from the audience. According to Akshay himself, his success is 70% luck and 30% hard work—a rare humility in today's world of self-praise.
In his 33-year-long career trajectory, Akshay has not only built a massive fan base but also an empire. According to reports, the star who was once paid only Rs. 5001 for a film, now charges Rs. 90 crores per film. In fact, for his blockbuster films like Kesari Chapter 2, he has allegedly charged Rs 145 crores. Based on his massive fan base, filmmakers want to work with him.
As per a Forbes report, Akshay Kumar's net worth today is approximately Rs. 2700 crores. What's even more impressive is that Akshay is a self-made actor who ventured into this industry without taking help from any godfather. His journey speaks of determination, hard work, and persistence.

Javed Akhtar Lauds Sitaare Zameen Par's Day 2 Box Office Surge: 'Who Says Good Films Have No Takers?'

Last Updated: Javed Akhtar lauds Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par after it records a massive Day 2 jump at the box office. 'Who says good films have no takers?' Veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the impressive box office performance of Aamir Khan's latest film Sitaare Zameen Par. The film, which opened to moderate numbers on day one, reportedly witnessed a massive surge on its second day—prompting praise from cinephiles and industry veterans alike. 'So happy to learn about the record leap that Sitaare Zameen Par has taken at the box office on the second day. Who says good films have no takers in the audience. Congratulations to Aamir Khan and his team," wrote Akhtar in a heartfelt post on June 22. Aamir Khan's cinematic comeback is proving to be a box office success as Sitaare Zameen Par continues to rise with each passing day. Released on June 20, 2025, the heartfelt drama has struck a nostalgic chord with audiences, hailed as the spiritual successor to Taare Zameen Par (2007). Directed by R.S. Prasanna and co-starring Genelia Deshmukh, the film is riding on strong word-of-mouth and audience goodwill. After a respectable start, Sitaare Zameen Par witnessed an impressive surge in earnings on its second day. According to early trade estimates, the film collected ₹19.72 crore on Saturday, bringing its total to ₹30.42 crore in just two days. The film had opened with ₹10.7 crore on Friday, and the upward momentum has industry watchers hopeful for a strong weekend finish. In comparison, Aamir's previous film Laal Singh Chaddha had managed ₹18.96 crore in its first two days, making Sitaare Zameen Par a significant improvement. While it still trails behind Akshay Kumar's Sky Force (₹34.25 crore), it performed notably better than Kesari Chapter 2, which earned ₹17.5 crore in the same window. Sitaare Zameen Par is a blend of sports, drama, and heartfelt comedy, produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit. It also marks the Hindi debut of several fresh faces — Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar — while supporting performances come from seasoned talents like Dolly Ahluwalia, Gurpal Singh, Brijendra Kala, and Ankita Sehgal. The film follows Gulshan (played by Aamir Khan), a disgraced basketball coach who, after a DUI conviction, is assigned to teach the game to a group of neurodivergent children. What starts as punishment evolves into a journey of transformation for both coach and team. Genelia Deshmukh plays Sunita, Gulshan's supportive wife. News18 gave Sitaare Zameen Par a 3.5-star rating. A part of our review read, 'Unlike Taare Zameen Par's Nikumbh, Gulshan isn't perfect. This is a flawed, man-child character, dealing with his own traumas, learning to navigate life with the help of those who suffer developmental delays. So far, on paper, Sitaare Zameen Par seems rather fantastic, novel, and heartfelt. And don't get us wrong — it definitely is all of that. But it also has its share of flaws that become a bump in its path to becoming a great film. To start with, at 2 hours 39 minutes, the film appears to be an extremely long and slow-moving affair." As the weekend unfolds, all eyes are on Sunday's box office numbers to see if Sitaare Zameen Par can maintain its stellar streak. First Published:

Meet man who won Rs 5 crore on KBC, then lost all his money, got addicted to alcohol, sold milk for...,he is...

Luck is one thing that can either make or break a person's life. If your luck plays along, you can become a millionaire, and if that luck doesn't work in your favor, you can lose all the money you earned in a matter of seconds. Something similar happened with KBC winner Sushil Kumar. He was the first contestant in the history of the Amitabh Bachchan-led quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) to win a whopping amount of Rs 5 crore in 2011. On his historic win, Amitabh called him the 'real-life Slumdog Millionaire.' However, little did Sushil know that his life was about to change — and not for the better. He became an example of riches to rags and lost all his money. Let's know more about Sushil Kumar. Who is Sushil Kumar? Sushil Kumar, 41, from Champaran, Bihar, appeared as a contestant on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 5. He correctly answered the final question of the quiz show and won a whopping Rs 5 crore, becoming a crorepati overnight. When he was asked what he would do with the money, he expressed his desire to become an IAS officer. However, after his big win, Sushil vanished into thin air and no one knew what he was up to. Later in 2020, he once again surfaced on social media and left people shocked. In a social media post, he wrote, '2015-2016 was the most challenging time of my life. I was not able to understand what to do. Being a local celebrity, I used to have programs somewhere or the other in Bihar for ten to fifteen days a month. Therefore, studies gradually got sidelined. Also, at that time, I used to be very serious about the media and the media also used to ask me every few days what I was doing. For this, I used to do this business sometimes, that business sometimes without any experience so that I could tell the media that I am not useless. The result was that the business used to sink after a few days!' Not just that, he also used to sell milk to meet his daily needs. Sushil Kumar Got Scammed In a post, Sushil also revealed how he got scammed after winning Rs 5 crore. He wrote, 'After KBC, I used to participate in about 50 thousand programs in a month. Because of this, many times people have cheated me, which I came to know about later after donating.' Addiction to Cigarettes, Alcohol Sushil got addicted to cigarettes and alcohol. He also tried his luck in directing but failed. Now, as per media reports, Sushil Kumar has been appointed as a government psychology teacher and currently teaches students of Class 11 and 12.

Shah Rukh Khan Steps Out For A Sunday Drive, His Adorable Pup Steals The Spotlight

Last Updated: Shah Rukh Khan was seen with his dog during a Sunday drive in his Rolls-Royce. It's not every day that Shah Rukh Khan peeks out of his car window—but when he does, even his furry companion steals the spotlight. In a video that's now going viral on social media, the superstar was spotted out for a Sunday drive with a fleet of security convoy following him, accompanied by none other than his adorable pet dog! Dressed casually in a white tee, beanie, and sunglasses, Shah Rukh Khan was seen with his pooch perched on his lap, both of them gazing out through the window of his luxurious Rolls-Royce. The moment was brief but heart-melting. As soon as the actor noticed the swarm of cameras and fans trying to catch a glimpse of him, he gently rolled up the windows and was whisked away by his chauffeur. With Mannat, his iconic sea-facing bungalow, currently undergoing renovation, Shah Rukh Khan has temporarily moved out with wife Gauri Khan and children Suhana and Aryan. Despite the change in address, the King of Bollywood continues to command attention—whether it's at events, film sets, or, as in this case, during an unplanned car moment with his four-legged best friend. As for Shah Rukh Khan's new address, the actor recently rented two luxurious duplex apartments in Pali Hills, Khar West, on a three-year lease. These properties belong to the Bhagnani family, with one apartment, owned by Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh, leased to Shah Rukh for Rs 11.54 lakh per month, alongside a security deposit of Rs 32.97 lakh. The second apartment, owned by producer Vashu Bhagnani, is rented at Rs 12.61 lakh per month, requiring a Rs 36 lakh deposit. In a recent chat with News18 Showsha, Gauri Khan spoke about how the renovation of Mannat is shaping up. She said that work in her home is currently under progress, and her renovated house should come around in the next one year. Meanwhile, on the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand are set to join forces once again for their next ambitious project, King. They worked together in the 2023 film 'Pathaan'. In King, Shah Rukh Khan takes on the titular role, with Suhana Khan playing a key character and Abhishek Bachchan stepping into the antagonist's shoes. It is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix. First Published:
