Huntsville man dies in Morgan County wreck

May 24—A Huntsville man died in Morgan County on Saturday morning in a single-vehicle wreck, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Jeremy S. Lumpkin, 39, was fatally injured when the 2009 Lexus RX SUV he was driving left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree. Lumpkin, who was not using a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, ALEA said.
The crash occurred at 10:55 a.m. on Alabama 67 near Ryan Loop Road, about 3 miles north of Hulaco.

Marcos Morales was driving a 2018 Ford F150 on Keenes Mill Road near Hurricane Road around 11 p.m. when his vehicle left the road. Morales' vehicle struck an embankment and hit a tree before catching fire, troopers said. He was ejected from the Ford F150 and pronounced dead at the scene. Despite the swift arrival of emergency crews, search efforts were hampered by the bayou's murky waters, making it difficult to locate Sherman in the aftermath of the crash.
