Beloved Pakistani actress Ayesha Khan dead aged 76
Beloved Pakistani actress Ayesha Khan has died aged 76. The star's body was discovered days after her death in her apartment, with authorities confirming she was found in a state of advanced decomposition in her apartment in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi. It emerged on Saturday (21.06.25) local police had said the veteran actress had died at least a week earlier, with neighbours alerting her family only after detecting a strong odour from the residence. Tributes have poured in for the star, with actor Adnan Siddiqui saying in a statement: 'She was never loud, never needing to prove anything – her craft did all the talking. 'Her kindness, her elegance, her calm strength, all of it taught me so much, even when she wasn't trying to.' Ayesha's body was discovered on the night of 19 June, according to a spokesperson for the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police, but news of her passing is only now coming to light. The actress had been living alone for many years, having largely stepped away from the entertainment industry. Her children, police said, did not live nearby. Dr Summaiya Syed, a police surgeon at Jinnah Hospital, confirmed to local media that a post-mortem examination would not proceed until her son arrived. Preliminary assessments suggested Ayesha was in the bathroom when she died. Police have begun questioning neighbours and family members as part of their investigation. Ayesha was a celebrated figure in Pakistani television and film, known for her performances in acclaimed drama serials such as Akhri Chattan, Tipu Sultan: The Tiger Lord, Dehleez, Bol Meri Machli and Ek Aur Aasman. She also starred in Soteli Maamta, her most recent screen appearance, which aired on Hum TV in 2020. The actress was the elder sister of late TV star Khalida Riyasat. A versatile performer, Ayesha appeared in both comedic and dramatic roles and was frequently cast alongside actors Qazi Wajid and Talat Hussain. Her long-standing collaboration with these actors made her part of one of PTV's most loved on-screen ensembles. Tributes have poured in from across the entertainment industry. Hum TV, with whom Ayesha frequently worked, issued a statement saying: 'May her soul rest in peace. Our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.' Adnan Siddiqui, 54, remembered his first encounter with Ayesha during the filming of Uroosa. 'She was my on-screen mother but brought a compassion reminiscent of a maternal figure,' he said in a post on Instagram – adding: 'She was an atmosphere. And her absence will be deeply felt.' Actor Khaled Anam paid tribute to the actress's prolific career by posting a photo of her face and writing: 'With profound sadness, we share the news of legendary Pakistani actress Ayesha Khan passing away this June 2025. 'For decades, she graced our screens with iconic roles in Afshan, Aroosa, Family 93, Mehndi, Naqab Zan, Bharosa Pyar Tera, Bisaat e Dil.'

New M3GAN 2.0 Featurette Teases a 'bigger,' 'badder,' and 'bloodier' Sequel — GeekTyrant
Universal Pictures has released a new featurette for Blumhouse's M3GAN 2.0 , and it offers a behind-the-scene look at the upcoming crazy robot vs. robot action comedy horror film. The video features interviews with the cast and crew and they tease a 'bigger', badder,' and 'bloodier' sequel 'in the best way'. The movie also look even more ridiculous than the first one. The film takes place two years after M3GAN , 'a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous (and impeccably choreographed) rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN's creator Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma's niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma's overprotective rules. 'Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia's self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around. 'With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I bitch is about to meet her match.' James Wan is producing the film for Atomic Monster, Jason Blum for Blumhouse and Gerard Johnstoneis back to direct the next wild chapter of A.I. robot mayhem. Akela Cooper ( Malignant, M3GAN ) returned to write the script. The upcoming horror sequel co-stars returning cast members Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps as Gemma's loyal tech teammates, Cole and Tess, and new characters played by Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp and Jemaine Clement. M3GAN 2.0 will be released in theaters on June 27, 2025.

'Superman''s David Corenswet Says There's 'No Single Zipper' in the Suit for Easy Bathroom Access (Exclusive)
According to David Corenswet, getting in and out of the Superman suit isn't super easy. Talking with PEOPLE about what it was like to wear the iconic Man of Steel costume, Corewnswet gets candid. 'There are lots of zippers, but there's no single zipper that allows me to go to the bathroom, which you would think would be quite straightforward,' he says. 'But nothing is straightforward about these things. I mean, we talked about it and we tried and it was not worth the costs that came with it,' adds the star of director James Gunn 's Superman, in theaters July 11. Asked if that was torture for him, Corenswet says 'not at all.' 'I never had an issue with that. I had the most amazing dresser you could ask for, Scotty, who was sort of like a, I don't know, he felt like a mob fixer. He was always in my ear going, 'Do you need a break? Do you need a break? Tell 'em you need a break and we can step you out. I'll tell him it's me,' ' he says. 'He would make excuses for me if I needed, and we got very good together at getting in and out of the suit, so he would do it quite quickly, and I could take breaks if I needed to over the course of a day,' says Corenswet. The actor recalls the first time he put on the suit after getting cast in the role. 'It was very underwhelming. It was in pieces. The S wasn't even on yet. It was really just about the blue tights,' says Corenswet, who packed on around 40 pounds of muscle to play the superhero. 'It was quite snug because they had made it to my proportions when I screen-tested where I weighed about 195 pounds, and when I walked in for my first costume fitting, I weighed about a 235, 240 pounds,' he says. 'You hear actors who play superheroes talking about squeezing into the suits. I got kind of claustrophobic in the suit the first time just being constricted in all those places at the same time,' he says, calling it an 'intense experience.' Corenswet was announced as the star of Superman in 2023 after he beat out several other names including Patrick Schwarzenegger and Nicholas Hoult (who was since cast as Superman's nemesis Lex Luthor). The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan plays Daily Planet reporter and love interest Lois Lane for Superman's alter ego Clark Kent. She and Corenswet bonded after they were both cast. 'I think James felt like the relationship between Clark and Lois was integral to the heart of the story and the success of the movie, and so we spent a lot of time talking through those scenes and talking about our characters and our relationship.'
