A SOLDIER who brutally murdered a young mother with a meat cleaver could soon be freed from prison.
Killer Stephen Wynne murdered 27-year-old mum-of-three Chantel Taylor by striking her in the neck and then dismembering her body with a saw.

Wynne, who was 26 at the time of the murder in 2004, later stashed Chantel's remains in her own loft before moving them a few days later into a nearby woods and the local tip.
Her body was never discovered, meaning her family were forced to hold a funeral with just traces of her DNA from the murder scene in Birkenhead.
Now the Sun Online can reveal Wynne, who was sentenced to life in prison in 2006 after pleading guilty to murder, is set to appear before the Parole Board in two weeks.
His will 'horrify' Chantel's family, according to one MP.
Esther McVey who has been supporting the family said: "In this case life should mean life."
Wynne was originally sentenced to life with a minimum term of 21 years was reduced to 18 on appeal.
In 2023 he won the right to be moved to an open prison after a judge dismissed an objection by the then Deputy Prime Minister, Dominic Raab.
A senior judge ruled in Wynne's favour, concluding that the Government had provided "no good reason" for rejecting the board's recommendation.
Ms Taylor's mother, Jean Taylor, has previously told of the 'deep distress and devastation' felt by her family over the murder.
Earlier this year Mrs Taylor travelled to London to present a petition to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer demanding a change in the law alongside Chantel's daughter, Whitney, 31, her sister, Natasha, 53 and Ms McVey.
They say current rules known as Helen's Law, in memory of Helen McCourt, whereby a killer who refuses to disclose the location of their victim's remains are barred from being granted parole, has a "significant limitation".
Chantel's family say Helen's law allows offenders who falsely claimed to reveal the location of concealed body parts to 'avoid the full accountability they deserve during parole hearings.'
A Parole Board spokesperson said: "An oral hearing has been listed for the parole review of Stephen Wynne and is scheduled to take place in June 2025.
"Parole Board decisions are solely focused on what risk a prisoner could represent to the public if released and whether that risk is manageable in the community.
'A panel will carefully examine a huge range of evidence, including details of the original crime, and any evidence of behaviour change, as well as explore the harm done and impact the crime has had on the victims.
'Members read and digest hundreds of pages of evidence and reports in the lead up to an oral hearing.
'Evidence from witnesses including probation officers, psychiatrists and psychologists, officials supervising the offender in prison as well as victim personal statements are then given at the hearing.
'The prisoner and witnesses are then questioned at length during the hearing which often lasts a full day or more.
'Parole reviews are undertaken thoroughly and with extreme care. Protecting the public is our number one priority.'

Inside the device, officers uncovered 62 indecent images and one video in category A - the most extreme classification of abuse - along with 28 images and one video in category B, and 192 category C images. In addition to the six upskirting clips, Pickett had also saved a number of handwritten notes on the phone, which his own legal team described as 'fantasy letters' about his young pupils. He had also carried out several disturbing searches on TikTok related to children. The teaching assistant broke down in tears as he was locked up yesterday. Pickett, who has no previous convictions, was employed at the school in question via an agency between September 2023 and January 2024. Charles Lander, defending, told the court that his client had since completed a series of courses aimed at rehabilitating sex offenders, adding: "It is clear that he will find benefit in this. "He makes candid admissions. The realisation of what has happened to him would be difficult for anyone facing their first custodial sentence, but it is often more difficult for individuals with this kind of offending. He has got his head down. Your honour will have read about the death of his father and issues in his background during his childhood. These images do not show a victimless crime, far from it. The assumption has to be made that, if it was not for people like yourself providing a marketplace for such images, that abuse would not take place. "They were but part of what was discovered by the police. It is clear that, not only had you been downloading indecent images of children from the internet, you had been taking indecent photographs of children yourself. You had been abusing your position of trust at the school to take photographs of the very children you were there to look after and educate. "The notes you made at this time demonstrate what was going through your mind. I hope that you do not need me to tell you how abhorrent this sort of conduct is regarded by society." Pickett was also handed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order. He will be required to sign the sex offenders' register for the next decade.

Andrew Michael, known as Isa Ibrahim, was jailed in 2009 when cops found he was plotting a suicide bombing at Bristol's Broadmead shopping centre only a 'matter of hours or days' before he carried out his awful planned attack. Authorities were tipped off by a member of the local muslim community about Ibrahim, who hoped to blow himself up with a suicide vest after he began to idolise the 7/7 bombers and Al-Qaeda monster Osama Bin Laden. Ibrahim would also watch speeches by Islamist militant leader Omar Bakri Muhammad and former Finsbury Park cleric Abu Hamza. ‌ ‌ But nearly 16 years after he was convicted at Winchester Crown Court in July 2009, Ibrahim could soon be released from jail. The Mail Online reported that Ibrahim, 36, is up for parole. 'A decision on Ibrahim's case is expected over coming weeks.' ‌ The son of Christian parents who lived in a Bristol mansion worth £1 million, Ibrahim had a lavish upbringing. His father, born in Egypt, was a consultant pathologist in the NHS and his older brother became a software engineer after graduating from Oxford. But despite the luxury lifestyle in the family's gated mansion in Frenchay, Bristol, Ibrahim developed a drug habit - he first took cannabis aged just 12 - and was expelled from three different private schools including the £19,065-a-year Colston's School and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital school which has fees of £9,885-a-year. The even pricier Roman Catholic Downside School in Bath, where Ibrahim was a boarder, cost his family £24,141-a-year. ‌ Eventually, Ibrahim managed to get good grades and received nine GCSEs while he was a pupil at the Bristol Cathedral School, which costs £7,500-a-year. Ibrahim then moved to be a student at the City of Bristol College. After his conversion to Islam, Ibrahim was sentenced to an indeterminate prison sentence with a minimum term of ten years when he was found guilty of making an explosive with intent to endanger life or cause serious injury and preparation of terrorist acts. ‌ He had made an explosive vest in his flat and also carried out surveillance of Broadmead. It was found that he hoped to achieve maximum damage using ball bearings and nails in his vest, purchasing the items he needed from high street shops. Thankfully, worried members of the Al-Baseera mosque in Bristol reported the injuries Ibrahim suffered from testing his explosives. They told police about their concerns over his extreme views and that he was acting suspiciously. It is understood to be the first time a potential terrorist was brought to justice by members of the muslim community playing a key role. Ibrahim was not on the radar of security services at the time. ‌ When police searched his home, the floor crackled under officers' feet because of the huge amount of explosive powder in his flat. Cops found Hexamethylene Triperoxide Diamine (HMTD) an explosive substance used in the 7/7 attacks, an incomplete suicide vest, films of Ibrahim testing the explosives and an electrical circuit capable of being used as a detonator. A controlled explosion had to be carried out at the flat, where a radical book advocating jihad was also found. Detective Chief Inspector Matt Iddon said Ibrahim's kitchen had become an 'explosive laboratory'. He said: 'He identified that the [Broadmead] food court was a dense area. It's full of families – husband, wives, children, groups of young friends – relaxing and enjoying the day. He intended to blow himself up there.' Trial judge Mr Justice Butterfield said Ibrahim was an 'angry young person' and said he was 'well capable' carrying out an attack. Ibrahim had said he did not intend to harm anyone, said he had trouble making friends and even talked to teddy bears as an adult.

Bootle shopkeeper stabbed in front of children say eyewitnesses

A "friendly and hardworking" shopkeeper was stabbed to death in front of children and customers, witnesses to the attack have said. Merseyside Police said the 44-year-old woman died in hospital after the attack inside the Low Cost Food & Wine convenience shop in Bootle, Merseyside, shortly after 17:05 BST on Friday. A 47-year-old man from the Widnes area was arrested near the shop on Stanley Road, and is being questioned on suspicion of murder and possession of a knife. Witnesses described children running out of the shop and screaming for help, while bystanders tried to help the victim, who they said had collapsed by the shop entrance. A police spokesman said a knife was seized at the scene and detectives continue to question the suspect. Det Insp Gavin Mulcahy previously said the attack was being treated as a domestic assault and that no other suspect is being sought by police. Constantin Manzu, 40, who owns C&C Cakes opposite the scene, said he saw the aftermath of the stabbing and sheltered witnesses in his told the BBC: "I heard screaming. There was a bus at the stop in front so I could not make out what it was but when I went outside there was a big group by the door of the shop."I could see them looking at someone lying on the floor, and someone standing there said someone had been stabbed." Mr Manzu said two customers who witnessed the attack stayed in his shop for a short time afterwards as "everyone was in shock".He said: "I can't describe it in words. I just literally burst into tears when I heard and I saw everyone crying and screaming. "The whole situation is horrendous and I think you need to have a very strong heart to support those kind of emotions"Mr Manzu said he and his partner regularly went into the shop and described the victim as "really nice with everyone that stepped in the shop"."All the time she was nice with the kids all around here, she was nice with my kids," he said. Nicky Galliver, 60, works in a beauty salon next door to the shop where the woman was attacked. She said she and the other staff were customers at Low Cost Food & Wines and described the shopkeeper as "hardworking and very friendly". Ms Galliver said: "She loved her children, you could always see her taking the kids to school."It's frightening, especially on your doorstep."Another local shop worker, 22-year-old Hawraz Mustafi, said he had been standing outside when he heard a child screaming and noticed a woman lying on the ground with serious injuries.
