The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers are two of the most bitter rivals in the NFL. That rivalry has not gone away, despite the fact that the Packers have had the upper hand of it for many years now.
While the recent history of the rivalry has not been favorable to the Bears, Chicago is making strong moves to get back into contention. Led by new head coach Ben Johnson and second-year quarterback Caleb Williams, the future is bright for the Bears.
Even though he's brand new to the NFL, Williams has already made it clear where he stands when it comes to the rivalry.

"One of mine was probably at Green Bay, I mean, they suck, but it was after the game, after we won at Lambeau," Williams said.
"Uh, 1-0 at Lambeau right now," he said. "We so obviously try to do the 'Lambeau leap' and we actually try to jump in the crowd where our fans were and they (Packers fans) just, they start throwing everything at you. They push you off and the Lambeau leap, it's a real leap. It's not a little baby jump. You actually have to high jump basically. And then they're pushing you, pushing your face. Yeah, that was probably then."
Just from that short statement alone, it's clear how much Williams dislikes Green Bay. He has taken over the rivalry exactly how Chicago fans wanted him to.
During his rookie season, Williams played solid football. He threw for 3,541 yards, 20 touchdowns, and six interceptions, completing 62.5 percent of his pass attempts. Williams also ran for 489 yards.

Heading into the upcoming 2025 season, the Bears have one goal. They want to get back into the playoffs and start contending in the NFC North division again.
Williams will be looking to improve his record against the Packers. The rivalry lives on and it could get even more contested this season with Chicago's improvements.
Green Bay fans are going to have something to say to Williams when he comes back to Lambeau Field. After these comments, it would be a safe bet that Williams will not receive a warm welcome when he plays the Packers in Green Bay next.

WNBA Fans In Disbelief After Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark News on Friday
WNBA Fans In Disbelief After Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark News on Friday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has been in good form recently. Struggling offensively to start the 2025 WNBA season, Reese has scored in double-figures each of the last four games, averaging 14.3 points, 10.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists during that stretch. Advertisement Despite Reese's improved play, Chicago sits at just 3-8 on the season. This is the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference, and third-worst in the entire WNBA. Chicago's poor record, combined with Reese's slow start to the year, could be why the 6-foot-3 forward was notably absent when the WNBA announced the top-10 2025 All-Star Game vote getters thus far. Fans were quick to notice that Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark not only led the list, but had roughly three times more votes than Reese. This news had WNBA fans in disbelief, as many felt Reese's popularity alone could have closed this gap. Advertisement "Reese's Pieces have been here celebrating that Caitlin's fans are supposedly turning on her… Meanwhile, it is Angel's fans who no longer have the juice," one stated. "Caitlin Clark fans voting for Kiki to spite Paige/Angel is hilarious I can't lie," said another. "Do my eyes deceive me or does Kiki have more motion than Angel Reese?" one asked. "Bruh Sky fans need to go vote," said another. Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5).Trevor Ruszkowski-Imagn Images On the season, Reese is averaging 11.0 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Many WNBA fans feel these stats should have resulted in more votes. "Me, looking for the face of the league, Angel Reese," said another. Advertisement "No Angel Reese?" one asked. "No angel Reese in the all star game !!! [Expletive] rigged we will not be watching," one added. "No way Angel Reese not in the top 10!!" another exclaimed. I don't believe it! Chicago Sky Make Angel Reese Announcement After Eighth Loss
Chicago Sky Make Angel Reese Announcement After Eighth Loss originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has been playing her best basketball of the 2025 WNBA season in recent games. Over her last four contests, the 6-foot-3 forward is averaging 14.3 points, 10.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists. This includes her first career WNBA triple-double in a win over the Connecticut Sun. Advertisement Unfortunately for Reese and her team, the Sky currently sit near the bottom of the standings with a 3-8 record. Missing the playoffs last season, and owning the worst record in the Eastern Conference, Chicago was hoping for more success this year after some offseason changes. While that has not taken place, there is reason for optimism, particularly with the recent play of Reese. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5).Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images Heading into a game with the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday, the Sky made an announcement on their star sophomore. Per the team, Reese has officially been named Chicago's Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. This is a team-given honor, and one that was accompanied with a message on X. Advertisement "back-to-back," the Sky wrote. "Angel Reese is our Magellan Player of the Week for the second week in a row 😮💨" Reese has dominated these team-specific awards this season, winning several Player of the Game honors, and now taking home Player of the Week for the second straight week. On Friday, the WNBA announced the first voting returns for the 2025 WNBA All-Star game, and Reese was 13th in the league with over 173,000 votes. While this may be a bit lower than fans were expecting, it still puts her in position to make the All-Star team for a second straight year. Reese's recent play has only strengthened her All-Star case, and she will look to keep that going on Saturday against Phoenix Advertisement Related: WNBA Fans In Disbelief After Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark News on Friday This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 20, 2025, where it first appeared.

Chicago Sky Make Unfortunate Announcement Minutes Before Mercury Game
Chicago Sky Make Unfortunate Announcement Minutes Before Mercury Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Chicago Sky are hosting the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday afternoon, looking to get back in the win column. Just 3-8 through 11 games, Chicago owns the third-worst record in the WNBA this season. Advertisement It has been a different story for the Mercury, who enter the weekend 10-4 through 14 games. This is the third-best record in the league, and has Phoenix in prime position for another postseason berth. Phoenix and Chicago faced off earlier this season, with the Mercury securing a 94-89 win. What was already projected to be a challenging matchup for Chicago became more difficult with some pregame news. Former Connecticut Sun guard Moriah Jefferson (4) and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese.© Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images On their initial injury report for this game, the Sky had listed Moriah Jefferson as questionable to play. This was notable, because the 10-year veteran guard has been out all season due to a leg injury. Advertisement The upgrade to questionable had fans excited for Jefferson's potential season debut, but that will not be the case. Announcing their final injury report, the Sky have again ruled Jefferson out. For her career, Jefferson has appeared in 202 games and owns averages of 8.5 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists. A capable 3-point shooter, her career 38.8% clip from beyond the arc could help space the floor for Chicago once she returns. Jefferson was dealt to Chicago last season in the deal that included Marina Mabrey, sending the former Sky forward to the Connecticut Sun. The 5-foot-6 guard appeared in 14 games for the Sky, all off the bench, which is the role she will presumably fill this season once healthy.
