‘Walking Dead' zombies take over Penn Station — while clutching the New York Post
They're dead men walking.
On Tuesday, zombies were spotted all over Manhattan – including outside Penn Station, where they were reading issues of The New York Post.
They were there as part of a series of pop ups 'taking over' the city to promote Season 2 of 'The Walking Dead: Dead City,' which is set in the Big Apple. The Post exclusively broke the news of these pop ups on Friday.
Lauren Cohan, the star and executive producer of the show, exclusively told The Post, 'I'm really excited for fans to see what's in store! This takeover is one of the biggest and most interactive experiences 'The Walking Dead' has ever done, and is the perfect way to kick off the new season.'

Starring Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, 'The Walking Dead: Dead City' is set in a post-apocalyptic New York City.
Cohan and Morgan reprise their roles as Maggie and Negan, respectively, from the original 'The Walking Dead,' which aired from 2010 to 2022.
The show is the fifth TV series in 'The Walking Dead' franchise, but it's the first direct sequel.
As part of the Season 2 promo, 'walkers,' or zombies, were in various locations on Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
They were reading the Post in Penn Station, and handing out special editions titled: 'The Walking Dead: Dead City.'

The walkers also went to PopUpBagels on 7th Avenue, where the first 200 customers can pick-up a free PopUp Bagels three-pack, and they'll also visit the AMC Networks Office.
The walkers will then head to the Empire State Building, where they'll meet up with the cast, before making their way to Radio City Music Hall for photo ops.
At 7:10 p.m., it will be 'The Walking Dead: Dead City' night at Citi Field.
Morgan and Cohan will throw out the first pitch at the New York Mets game when they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks. There will also be walkers there.

He added, 'With so many events and opportunities for East Coast fans to connect with the new season of the Dead City, I can't wait to see NYC get TWD'd!'

Oakley & Meta Announce New Performance AI Glasses With Help From Travis Scott & Tom Brady At Fanatics Fest
Source: Getty Images / Meta / Travis Scott Oakley and Meta launched a new pair of performance AI glasses with some help from the goat, Tom Brady, and Travis Scott. Kicking off Fanatics Fest in NYC, Oakley and Meta hosted a special event featuring a panel with Tom Brady, Travis Scott, and Michael Rubin, moderated by Caio Amato, Global President of Oakley. The primary focus of the panel was the art of partnership and collaboration, and Rubin, Brady, and Scott were the ideal individuals to have that discussion with, as each has numerous successful partnerships with brands and among themselves. Source: Getty Images / Oakley x Meta Before the event began, those fortunate enough to gain entry to the Meta Theater were required to place their phones in magnetically sealed pouches, as it was being promoted as a no-phone event. We learned why because Travis Scott wanted to ensure everyone was in the moment during his short but very electric performance, giving his diehard fans a taste of what his complete sets are like. Source: Getty Images / Oakley x Meta Scott made sure to call his 'ragers' to the front while performing hits like 'FE!N' and 'Butterfly Effect,' which got a pop out of the crowd that could probably be heard throughout the entire Javits Center. Source: Matt Monath / Oakley x Meta Scott also wore a pair of the bold Oakley Meta HSTN glasses during his performance, providing a hands-free first-person view of his electric performance for his fans who couldn't be in the building. Source: Getty Images / Oakley x Meta x Travis Scott As for the glasses, they will be available for preorder beginning July 11. Amato spoke about Oakley's partnership with Meta on the new Oakley Meta HSTN glasses. 'For 50 years, we've been pushing the boundaries of what is possible, obsessed with solving unsolved problems,' says Caio Amato, Global President of Oakley. 'Together with Meta we are setting new bounds of reality—It is not only about pushing forward performance, but also about amplifying human potential as never before. And this is just the first chapter of a new era for sports.' For more information on the Oakley Meta HSTN glasses, visit this link . THE WALKING DEAD: DEAD CITY's Finale Ends with a Death that Changes NYC Forever
The Walking Dead: Dead City's finale took us into a fiery battle between Bruegel's collective and Negan's new force. While there's usually someone who ultimately gets the upper hand and wins, I'd say that this is a loss on both ends in my opinion. Things go awry, many lives are lost and the city is really no better than when it started. Honestly, I found the groups of gangs to be a vibe and believe that maybe it is not best to have militaristic forces like New Babylon telling people what to do. Negan ends up with pretty much no power, no Ginny, and a knife to his back, thanks to Maggie. And, well, Bruegel ends up suffering a terrible demise at Negan's hands. New Babylon brings in its second wave and controls the methane. And while Dama and Herschel want to build a different future, it's going to be hard for them to do it without the resources and people power. RELATED ARTICLE THE WALKING DEAD: DEAD CITY Sets the Stage for a Major Battle, Thanks to Bruegel It is The Walking Dead universe so happy endings are rare and not expected at this point. Instead, we longtime fans get our joy from the show's big battles and the finale's fight is a great one. The choreography, the flamethrowers, and all the tension building up to brutal violence is such a treat. Actor Kim Coates, who portrayed Bruegel, spoke to us about filming that scene, which took multiple shoots due to some technical setbacks. 'We lost power one night,' Coates told us. 'So we were back to that church oh, I don't know, maybe four or five times when we were only supposed to be there twice. But, it's such an old, gorgeous, not used much anymore place of worship and to be able to turn it into this place with the walkers and the gangs.' He continues, 'In Sons of Anarchy, we had bikes and incredible riding and that world of the club. Now, with The Walking Dead, I'd never been on it before. I'd never seen it before and to see it all firsthand is no joke. The technical side, the crew, the stunt people, the walkers, it's no joke. It's full on. And we had to film it nighttime night after night after night… It's really impressive how they do it and how safe the set was.' Sadly, we won't get any more Bruegel in The Walking Dead's future. He was quite the dapper and hilarious dude who really got under Negan's skin. While they were staunch frenemies on screen, the love between Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kim Coates, who are real life pals, on set was undeniable. 'When we got to meet in this world, it was easy because the trust was there,' he affirmed. 'And he supported everything I did. And I think one of the biggest problems he had with me was he would laugh in the middle of a lot of takes. [laughs] Maybe Negan shouldn't be laughing, so we had to redo them a couple of times. I made him laugh so much, but I love the guy… It's been great to work with him and Lauren [Cohan]. I really have a lot of respect for Lauren, too.' What will happen next in the Big Apple? We will have to see if a third season shows Maggie and Negan teaming up to reclaim the streets and convince Herschel to come home.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 Premiere Date Set — Plus, Check Out the Trailer and… Was That a Kiss?!?
Just like when one door closes, another opens — or someone croaks, a walker rises — as one season ends, another begins. During Sunday's Season 2 finale of the Negan-and-Maggie-centric Walking Dead: Dead City, AMC dropped a trailer for Season 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — and revealed that the fifth spinoff in the franchise would return on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 9/8c. Per the show's official logline, 'Season 3, which filmed in Spain, will follow Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) as they continue their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the walker apocalypse.'
