Striker Ben Wilson has completed a move from Airdrieonians to The New Saints in a club record fee for the Welsh side.
The 23-year-old striker has joined the side the Diamonds defeated in the 2024 SPFL Trust Trophy final for an undisclosed fee, although it is understood to be worth six figures to Airdrie.

Wilson made a big impression when he arrived in Monklands last summer, netting a hat-trick on his competitive debut in a thumping 8-0 win over East Kilbride in the Premier sports League Cup. He also netted in each of his first four games for the club.

But the former Cliftonville man has now completed a switch to the Welsh Premier side, who unveiled the striker with an announcement video this afternoon.
A club statement from Airdrie read: "Following a successful season in the Championship, striker Ben Wilson has moved to Welsh side TNS for an undisclosed fee.
"Northern Irish frontman Wilson notched 17 goals in his solitary season at the Albert Bartlett Stadium, finishing as the side's top scorer following his move from Cliftonville last June.
"The 23-year-old's exploits caught the eye of Cymru Premier champions TNS, who were keen to add to their firepower ahead of another European campaign.
"We wish Ben the best of luck as he begins a new chapter in his career, and we thank him for some big moments in the season past."

Cowboys' Dak Prescott Predicted To Be Top-10 QB In NFL's Top 100 Players

Cowboys' Dak Prescott Predicted To Be Top-10 QB In NFL's Top 100 Players originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott divides opinion, unlike any other player in football, as his regular-season play does not consistently translate to the playoffs. Advertisement However, while many criticize Dak for his playoff failures (2-5), that is fair play. Overall, the general consensus is that he is a top-10-ish quarterback when at his best. Let's not forget that he finished second in MVP voting in 2023, before last year's "blow it up" season began. However, for some, it seems like it's only downhill for Dak, who will be 32 years old when the season starts. Still, Prescott, as he enters 2025, hasn't lost all fans, with CBS Sports' Pete Prisco naming his top 100 NFL players, and he has Dak at No. 90, down from 49 last year. "A year after leading the league with 36 touchdown passes, Prescott was limited to eight games because of injury," Prisco writes. "Even before the injury, he wasn't as sharp as the year before with just 11 touchdown passes and eight picks. But I think he's closer to the 2023 Prescott again." Detroit Lions DT D.J. Reader getting pressure on Dak PrescottAndrew Dieb-Imagn Images Dak as a top 100 player isn't exactly newsworthy, but there is a little nugget of information in this list that will make the Prescott haters a little agitated. Advertisement For some, Dak isn't a top-10 or even top-15 quarterback in football despite his regular-season numbers, but a glance at Prisco's top 100 list shows that there are only 11 quarterbacks on the list. And Prescott is No. 10, above Jordan Love. So even after a poor season, which was then ended due to injury, Prescott, at least in Prisco's eyes, is still a top-10 quarterback entering the 2025 season. Yes, we get it, the list is subjective, but this will likely give the haters more ammunition to go after Prescott. Not that he cares. Eagles Mindset Shared In Passionate Push From Nick Sirianni

Eagles Mindset Shared In Passionate Push From Nick Sirianni originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Philadelphia Eagles are done celebrating their Super Bowl victory last February. Of course … The organization is doing everything possible to repeat its title in 2025. Advertisement Leading the way in that mindset is head coach Nick Sirianni. Philadelphia's top leader has one of the highest winning percentages in league history for a head coach in their first four seasons on the job. In the latest Eagles episode of Unscripted, Sirianni's first message to his new team was clear: What worked last year won't help the team this year. "First I want to say, the celebration is over. OK? The celebration is over, preparation is here," Sirianni said in the episode. "...As we continued through here last year, as we came into the 2024 season there was a lot that we talked about handling adversity. Advertisement "Everyone right now, for the guys that have been here, are telling you how good you are. Treat praise like perfume. Sniff it, don't drink it. It's poison." Sirianni's message is passionate. Even better, he's right. Philadelphia was one of the more dominant teams in the league last season. Their run to Super Bowl LIX was one of the most impressive in history. The hardest part for them will be dealing with 31 other teams doing everything they can to defeat them in their pursuit of a repeat. It's clear that the coaching staff is more than prepared to handle the team's heightened expectations…. And with the message heeded, potentially lead the way to another Super Bowl title. Orbit College edge closer to PSL topflight dream with dramatic win over Casric Stars

Orbit College FC took a giant leap toward rewriting their own football fairytale, edging Casric Stars FC 1-0 in a dramatic PSL Promotion/Relegation Playoff clash at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Saturday. For 80 minutes, the match mirrored much of what this mini-league has delivered - tense build-up, heavy midfield battles, and very little end product. But then came Siyabulela Mabele. With the match destined to become the fourth consecutive draw in a goal-starved playoff campaign, Mabele's late deflected strike broke the deadlock and sent the Orbit bench charging towards the corner flag in a euphoric release of emotion. One kick. One goal. One seismic step towards the topflight. Until that moment, there was little to cheer about. The first half drifted by with no shots on target and a whopping 40% of the action stuck in midfield. Both sides had moments, but both lacked the guile and sharpness to break through - an all-too-familiar story in these playoffs. The second stanza offered more. Ten minutes after the restart, chaos unfolded. A poor clearance from Casric's Emile Tcheuko fell kindly to Mabele in the box. With only the goalkeeper to beat, it felt inevitable. But instead of finishing with composure, he dawdled and Tcheuko recovered with a desperate but crucial save. Promotion play-off - RESULT: Orbit College secure all three points and go top of the table as they win away against Casric Stars. — Official PSL (@OfficialPSL) June 21, 2025 Moments later, Casric launched a quick counter. The ball found its way into the box, and Ofentse Mothapo, standing unmarked, blazed his first-time effort into the side-netting when the goalmouth begged for calm execution. But Mabele would not leave this match as the villain. With 10 minutes left, he made amends. His speculative long-range effort caught the slightest deflection, completely wrong-footing Tcheuko, and nestling into the back of the net. Orbit were ahead, and the dream was alive. The final minutes were nervy. Casric, known for their late fightbacks - including a last-gasp equaliser against Cape Town City - pushed forward in desperation. But Orbit's defence, led by goalkeeper Sekhoane Moerane, stood firm. From the ABC Motsepe League just two years ago to now, within touching distance of the DStv Premiership, Orbit's rise has been meteoric. One more match could seal it. They host Cape Town City on Wednesday, 25 June (15:00), in what could be an historic afternoon. A win confirms their place in the 2025/26 Premiership. A draw, however, would drag the drama into the final fixture on 30 June when City face Casric (15:00). City, once considered one of the league's most enterprising sides, have stumbled through this playoff campaign in a fashion that mirrors their broader struggles throughout the 2024/25 season. Despite their experience at the top level and a squad with quality in key areas, the Citizens have looked flat and uninspired, drawing both of their playoff fixtures so far, without scoring a single goal. As it stands, Orbit top the table with five points. City and Casric are locked on two each. The promotion race is alive and, fittingly, going right down to the wire.
