HC summons top edu officials in contempt case over teachers' pay
Bhopal/Jabalpur: The MP high court has summoned the principal secretary of school education, Sanjay Goyal, and commissioner of public instructions, Shilpa Gupta, in connection with a contempt petition over non-implementation of the
Seventh Pay Commission
for staff of government-aided schools.
The next hearing is scheduled for July 21.
The contempt proceedings concerns a petition filed by MP Madhyamik Shikshak Sangh in 2019. The petition said that teaching and non-teaching staff of schools receiving government aid were given the benefit of sixth wage commission. When their salaries were not revised following the seventh wage commission report, the Sangh moved the court.
The court had directed the state government to take an appropriate decision on the demand for implementation of seventh wage board recommendations for the government-aided school staff.
Following this, the state government dve several vague replies on the issue in the court during hearing of Sangh's petition.
The court ultimately came to a conclusion that application of the petitioner for seventh pay commission for staff of government-aided schools has not been properly considered. The issue was not tabled in the state cabinet meeting nor was the NOC sought from the finance department. Considering this as contempt of court, the bench of Justice A K Singh has now summoned the two top officials of the school education department.

Emergency was ‘ominous' for country: K N Govindacharya
'The Sangh Parivar gave stability to that movement, kept it going and a ban was also imposed on it and finally there was a change of power,' he told PTI Videos in an interview. The former BJP functionary asserted that the Sangh Parivar gave stability to that movement. New Delhi, Jun 22 (PTI) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) played an important role in public awakening during the 'ominous' Emergency period with 65,000 people associated with it going to jail, former Sangh pracharak and political thinker N Govindacharya has said. Responding to a question about the role of the RSS in the 'Sampoorna Kranti' movement ahead of the Emergency, Govindacharya said the Sangh had a very big role in that movement. 'Just like Kurma had played a role in maintaining balance during the 'samudra manthan' with Basuki Nag and Mandara Parvat, the RSS had a similar role. In such a situation, Sangh played an important role in public awakening,' he said. According to mythology, Kurma, the tortoise avatar of Lord Vishnu, played an important role during the 'samudra manthan' (churning of ocean) to obtain the nectar of immortality. He said the Emergency imposed by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on June 25, 1975 was an outcome of her 'lust for power'. 'The Constitution was violated, fundamental rights and freedom of expression were crushed, forced sterilisation took place, censorship was imposed, human freedom and system were attacked. The Emergency was completely ominous and could have been avoided. But such a situation arose due to lust for power,' he said. In response to a question about the circumstances leading to the Sampoorna Kranti movement, Govindacharya said such a situation arose due to issues like inflation, unemployment, bad governance, corruption, poor education. 'It started with the Bihar movement and at that time the students demanded arrangements for better studies, hostel facilities etc. But the then Education Minister of Bihar lathi-charged the students, chased them away and neglected them due to vote bank,' he recalled. Govindacharya said with the arrival of Jayaprakash Narayan, the movement got leadership, gained stature and its credibility was established. Asked about the reasons for imposing Emergency, Govindacharya said Indira Gandhi's insecurity within her party, the atmosphere created by some close people spreading wrong information and her objective of remaining in power by hook or by crook must have been the main reasons and for that morality was set aside. Attacking the then Indira Gandhi led government, he said there was a stagnation in the system. The entire public was against insensitivity, irresponsibility and lack of accountability in the system and this was expressed during the students' movement. In response to a question about his experience during the Emergency, he said he was in jail for two months during the Bihar movement (students' movement) and at the end of the Emergency he also had to go to jail. The former Sangh Pracharak said during the movement, people associated with the Sangh Parivar used to go among the people with different names so that they could avoid arrest. The Sampoorna Kranti movement against the Emergency was an unusual act of ordinary people, he stated. When asked whether the objectives of the Emergency were achieved, Govindacharya said, 'The opposite happened. There was a change of power but the prohibitions were not followed.' Socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan gave the call for Sampooran Kranti in 1974. The demand for resignation of the then Ghafoor ministry in Bihar ultimately turned into a larger demand for the dismissal of the Indira Gandhi government. Play on 3 RSS chiefs begins statewide tour, first show at Khamgaon in Vidarbha today
1 2 Nagpur: As the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) commemorates its centenary year, a special two-act Hindi play, 'Sangh Ganga Ke Teen Bhagirath', based on the lives of the first three Sarsanghchalaks, began its statewide tour, Shatabdi Sangh Yatra, from Nagpur on Saturday. The first show will be staged at Khamgaon in Buldhana district on Sunday, where Maharashtra minister of labour, Akash Fundkar, is expected to be present. The 150-minute production marks a major cultural initiative in the centenary year of the RSS which was established in 1925. A 30-member cast will stage the play in 15 cities across Maharashtra, with a goal of completing 100 shows across India. The plan is also to stage the play at international platforms. Written by Shridhar Gadge and directed by Sanjay Pendse, the play chronicles the journey of the Sangh through the lives of RSS founder Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar, known as Guruji, and Madhukar Dattareya Deoras, popularly known as Balasaheb Deoras. The tour was flagged-off at Jamnalal Bajaj Hall, Barrister Abhyankar Smarak Trust, Dhantoli. "It began about a year ago in a discussion with Bhaiyyaji Joshi, the then RSS general secretary. We agreed the play must reach audiences across India and beyond, so we chose Hindi to ensure it transcended language barriers," Pendse said recounting the origins of the project. Pendse also spoke about the challenge of presenting the vast contributions of the three leaders in a two-and-a-half-hour show. "We focused on crucial turning points, moments that not only defined their lives but also inspired generations of swayamsevaks," Pendse said. Krida Bharti national committee member Prasanna Hardas, the chief guest of the flagging off ceremony, highlighted the ideological foundation of the RSS. "Dr Hedgewar always maintained that nothing in the Sangh was his alone. The ideology we uphold is rooted in the Sanatan Dharma, an ancient philosophy of global peace and service handed down by our sages." Hardas shared an anecdote from Guruji's life, emphasising his relentless dedication. "Even while suffering from a high fever, Guruji insisted on keeping to his travel schedule. Only once, on a doctor's insistence, did he pause and felt under the weather the whole day. But the very next day he addressed swayamsevaks and he was fine again. That's the spirit this play brings to life." Blending storytelling, music, dramatization, and multimedia, 'Sangh Ganga Ke Teen Bhagirath' offers audiences a vivid look at the RSS's 100-year journey. Entry to all shows is free. The event is supported by the Tararani Foundation and Vishwaraj Environment. Dharampeth Mahila Bank president Nilima Bavane, senior theatre artist and Natya Parishad office bearer Rakesh Khade, along with Nayantara Foundation founder Sarika Pendse were present at the flagging-off ceremony.
