Anna Camp defends age-gap romance
Anna Camp has defended her age-gap romance after going public with new girlfriend Jade Whipkey.
The Pitch Perfect star, 42, unveiled her new relationship with Jade, who is 18 years her junior, when they walked the red carpet together at the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie Bride Hard last Wednesday (18.06.25) and now Anna has hit back at criticism by insisting Jade is "far more mature" than any of the men her age she's previously dated.
In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "Thought I'd jump on here ... and just sayI've dated men exactly my age and Jade is FAR more mature than any of them.
"We have more in common than anyone else I've ever dated and can literally talk about anything and everything."
She added of the online trolls: "Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I'm wishing everyone well. Especially this Pride month."
The couple's red carpet debut came after Anna previously shared one of Jade's posts on her Instagram page which included a sweet tribute to the actress.
Alongside a picture of Anna, Jade wrote: "Her smile is a poem, her eyes are roses, her laugh is music for dancing."
The pair previously answered questions about their dating history in a TikTok question-and-answer video posted back in February.
In the clip, Anna opened up about her worst date, saying: "I left a date once because a guy was like 45 minutes late and I stayed and waited.
"Then he said that I was prettier in a movie than I was in person, because I'm an actor, and I was like: 'Okay, bye'."
Anna then asked Jade: "What about you, babe?" and she replied: "I think it was the only date I ever went on with a boy. And he kept calling me 'f*****' the whole time."
When asked what they "expect" during a date with a man, Anna replied: "I don't expect anything. Not anymore because I'm dating a woman, and it's great."
The actress was previously married Scrubs star Michael Mosley between 2010 and 2013 and she went on to wed her Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin, 37, in 2016. The marriage broke down and they split in early 2019.

Can this ugly elf make China cool again?
In China's campaign to win over hearts and minds worldwide, its latest weapon is a fanged, bunny-eared, arguably quite ugly plushie. The grinning fuzzy toy, called Labubu, is made by a Chinese company and has become a global craze. It has in recent months been toted by celebrities including Rihanna and David Beckham; set off brawls among competing shoppers in England; and prompted overnight stakeouts in Los Angeles. It has even shaped the travel itineraries of some devotees, who have planned trips to China around hopes of buying one there. Resale prices for the roughly $US30 ($46) figurine have run into the hundreds of dollars. 'I flew all the way to China just to visit the BIGGEST POP MART STORE IN THE WORLD,' read the caption on a TikTok video by one vlogger from the Philippines, Lianna Patricia Guillermo, referring to the company that makes Labubu. (Guillermo clarified in an interview that she had visited the store during a long layover in Shanghai.) The enthusiasm over Labubu may pass like any other viral trend. But it could also be another sign that China, which has struggled to build cultural cachet overseas amid long-standing concerns about its authoritarian politics, is starting to claim some victories. Loading Chinese state media outlets have sought to frame it that way. 'The furry, nine-toothed elf created by Chinese toymaker Pop Mart has become a benchmark for China's pop culture making inroads overseas,' said an article in People's Daily, the Chinese Communist Party mouthpiece. Other Chinese products to find global followings include video games such as Black Myth: Wukong and affordable, well-made electric cars by BYD and other brands. DeepSeek, the Chinese AI model, has been adopted by tech companies overseas, including in the United States and Europe. Foreign travel bloggers have posted videos of themselves gushing about Shanghai's skyline and Chengdu's pandas. More niche offerings, like soapy Chinese period dramas, are finding audiences too. Patti Smith, the punk rock legend, has apparently left admiring comments on the Instagram account of a relatively unknown actor in one that recently debuted on Netflix. Polls also show changes in public opinion. An analysis published in May by Morning Consult showed that for the first time China's global standing surpassed that of the United States, including among American allies. Even in the United States, where views of China remain overwhelmingly negative, the share of Americans with an unfavorable opinion of China fell for the first time in five years in March, according to Pew. Younger Americans in particular are less hostile to China.

Lizzo and SZA hit the studio to work on new music
Lizzo and SZA have new music in the works. The pals - who previously teamed up on a remix of Lizzo's song Special in 2023 - have been teasing clips from the studio working on something for Lizzo's upcoming "mixtape". SZA captioned one post on her Instagram Story: "Working on a guest star for bookie Lizzo's new mixtape [heart emoji]." In a 2023 interview with UPROXX, SZA said of their friendship: 'Me and Lizzo, we've been friends since, like, 2013, but it was very organic and very random. One day we were on the same tour, and I was like, 'We're about to drive out to Lake Michigan, do you want to come?' And she was like, 'Yeah, let's go.' And then we just got drunk and hung out, and we kept doing that, and then our lives and careers progressed, and we kept talking and hanging out. The other day, I went over to her house. My tummy was hurting because I ate too much, and she gave me a muumuu, and we just laid in the yard and did nothing, and I was like, 'Yeah, this is what the f*** friendship is about.'' In March, Lizzo confirmed she had completed work on her new album Love in Real Life. The delighted star took to Instagram to tell fans about her productive day, after she "finished" her forthcoming fifth studio album. She wrote: "ALBUM IS DONE YALL! ASTROLOGY EXPERTS Do my mercury got micro braids? Cus I got an emergency root canal, announced SNL finished my album all in one day today (sic)" Meanwhile, Lizzo recently expressed her fury over criticism of her new music - insisting negative reviews of her song Still Bad, which was her first single from Love in Real Life, are "lazy". Lizzo wrote on X: "Saying my brand of 'poptimism' doesn't work in a 'post Covid world' is a lazy take ... As if I didn't release 'about damn time' post pandemic ... "As if I didn't write [her song] 'About Damn Time' to be a post lockdown anthem to inspire us to get outside and together again. And was successful at it btw ... "Same people saying my music is 'too optimistic' would've been real mad in the 60s at James Brown and Motown ... "Still Bad is a break-up song with the world. It literally starts with me saying: 'I'm bouta throw my phone away' it's a call to action for the negativity we experience on our phones and how we need to disengage and recenter. The girls that get it, get it ... "In the music video I'm literally taking my power back from the 'birds' (tweets) that tried to keep me down with negativity … "I think seeing and hearing a black woman make real music with radical joy triggers miserable people … but I follow in the footsteps of Janet [Jackson], of Funkadelic, of Earth Wind and Fire … nobody's doing it like me for Us. And I stand on that." She went on: "Imagine listening to 'say it loud I'm black and I'm proud' and saying it's too optimistic ... Imagine listening to [OutKast song] 'Hey Yah' and saying it's too poppy… what Andre [Andre 3000] say? Yall don't wanna listen ya just wanna hate ... "Aretha [Franklin] and Whitney [Houston] got backlash for being 'too pop' and they kept going… and so will I ... "I'm out here reclaiming rock n roll for US … (sic)"
