After Mukesh Ambani's Reliance withdraws 'Operation Sindoor' trademark, THIS director announces film on India-Pakistan war with same title
Reliance Industries have recently released a statement that Jio Studios has withdrawn its trademark application for 'Operation Sindoor.' The company, led by billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani, said that they have withdrawn its application, which was filed by a junior in the company without authorisation. Amid this, Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films and The Content Engineer have officially announced a new film titled Operation Sindoor, along with the phrase 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', evoking themes of courage and patriotism.
The film is inspired by India's strategic response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, that occurred on 22 April, 2025. The poster of Operation Sindoor features a striking image of a female solider standing with her back to the viewer. She is dressed in an army uniform, holding a rifle, while applying sindoor (vermillion) to her hair. The backdrop is filled with visual elements such as tanks, barbed wire and flying jets soaring above, depicting themes of bravery and patriotism.
The title Operation Sindoor written boldly, with the second 'O' replaced by a smear of vermillion. The phrase 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', in tricolour adds with the expression of love, loyalty and pride for India. View this post on Instagram

The operation's title, Sindoor, in the film refers the disturbing nature of the Pahalgam Attack, during which terrorists targeted men, some of whom were newly married, on the basis of their religious identity. The film is based on the real-life operation conducted by Indian armed forces, on the intervening night of May 6 and 7. The mission destroyed nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Directed by Uttam Maheshwari, the film is expected to showcase a gripping and emotional plot. The film's cast isn't announced yet. Bankrolled by Nicky and Vicky Bhagnani, who previously produced psychological thriller starring Sonakshi Sinha, that is expected to release worldwide on May 30.

PM Modi joins Tiranga yatra, holds roadshow in Bhubaneswar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a grand welcome here on Friday (June 20, 2025) after he landed at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here, before taking part in a Tiranga Yatra and a roadshow. The Tiranga Yatra and the roadshow were held simultaneously, as this was Mr. Modi's first visit to Odisha after 'Operation Sindoor'. As the PM's cavalcade made its way slowly through the streets, thousands lined up on both sides of the road from the airport to Janata Maidan. Cultural troupes showcased traditional folk arts, including performances of Bagha Nachha (tiger dance), Ghoda Nachha (horse dance), Ghumra music, cymbal-beating, and Kirtan, adding vibrant colour and rhythm to the celebrations. The Tiranga Yatra and the roadshow covered around 9 km from the airport to Janata Maidan, the venue of the event commemorating the first anniversary of the BJP government in Odisha. Mr. Modi did not step out of his vehicle during the roadshow, waving to the crowd from inside as the convoy moved along the designated route. "I had brought a bouquet to welcome Modi, but could not get the opportunity," said Manorama Das, a woman from a nearby slum who had come with hopes of meeting the PM. However, when Mr. Modi reached the meeting venue, he sat in an open jeep to reach the pandal.

Filmmaker Umer Nisar aims to revive Kashmir's cinema industry with short film 'Tasrufdar: Gins of Kashmir' post Pahalgam terror attack

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 20 (ANI): Assistant Director Umer Nisar shared his intent to revive the film industry in Kashmir following the terror attack in Pahalgam, a prominent tourist destination, through his short film 'Tasrufdar: Gins of Kashmir'. While talking to ANI, Umer Nisar called his upcoming short film, 'Tasrufdar,' an 'effort' to revive the local cinema in Kashmir. He also highlighted the need for Kashmiri filmmakers to 'step forward' and produce content for the boom of the film industry in Kashmir after the tragic terror attack in the union territory. 'Whenever we talk about the industry, the most important thing is that we want to bring all the makers here -- they all have to contribute something meaningful... So we came up with the concept of Tasrufdar: Gins of Kashmir, a short film. Overall, this effort is to revive cinema here, and all the local makers have come forward. We tell our stories. If we don't initiate something here -- post-Pahalgam attack or even otherwise -- then why would any filmmaker from outside come here? So I think it's very important that the makers from this place step forward and tell their stories,' said Umer Nishar. Tourism in the region reportedly witnessed a dip following the terror attack. However, Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that the Jammu and Kashmir administration would be able to achieve its pre-Pahalgam status of tourism by December. 'Wapas acche din way tourism has recovered in J&K in the last 1.5 months, we will be able to achieve pre-Pahalgam status by December', Shekhawat told ANI on Thursday. In May 2025, following a terror attack on civilians in Pahalgam, India launched Operation SINDOOR, executing precise retaliatory strikes against nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian military, acting on accurate intelligence, relied on drone strikes, loitering munitions, and layered air defence to neutralise key threats without crossing international boundaries. When Pakistan launched drone and missile attacks on 7-8 May against multiple Indian cities and bases, these were swiftly intercepted, showcasing the effectiveness of India's net-centric warfare systems and integrated counter-UAS (unmanned aerial systems) grid. In his address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India's firm policy on cross-border terrorism and its approach towards Pakistan. He underlined that national security is non-negotiable and outlined clear red lines regarding dialogue, deterrence, and defence. He said that any terrorist attack on India will be met with a fitting and decisive response, regardless of where the perpetrators operate from and India will not be deterred by nuclear threats and will continue to carry out precise strikes against terrorist hideouts.
