Copenhagen International Fashion Fair returns August 5

Fashion Network02-06-2025

Copenhagen international Fashion Fair (CIFF) is set to make its return to the Bella Center from August 5–7, 2025, coinciding once again with Copenhagen Fashion Week.
With the aim to create opportunity for businesses amidst changing market conditions, this summer's edition signals a renewed commitment to emerging markets, with a 25% increase in focus on Asia, the Middle East, and the fast-growing Eastern European fashion consumer market.
Likewise, a key highlight for 2025 is the launch of CIFF Media, a new content platform that will deliver year-round industry leaders and market insight, through an all-video social and online channel. Designed to elevate the reach and resonance of the fair, CIFF Media layers digital storytelling atop physical experiences, offering brands and buyers a second-to-none support network.
'Now is the time for us to be bold, invest, and create a trade platform that innovates strategically to not only support, but power growth for brands,' said Sofie Dolva, director at CIFF.
'When the industry says 'challenge' we hear 'opportunity' and set about planning how we can look at the landscape differently, do more, and fulfil of commitment to the industry of being the best possible international hub for the fashion industry to come together and do business.'
This year's edition will also feature collaborations with The CFDA, Pitti Uomo, and ISPO, the world's largest sports trade fair, bringing curated brand showcases to Copenhagen. The fair equally works in close alliance with Copenhagen Fashion Week, DM&T (the Danish Fashion and Textile association), and Creative Denmark.

Copenhagen Fashion Week and CIFF join forces to support Nordic talent

Two major players in the promotion of Copenhagen's fashion scene are joining forces to promote Scandinavian designers. Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) and CIFF (Copenhagen International Fashion Fair) have announced a long-term strategic alliance. The two pillars of Danish fashion are moving forward with the CPHFW Newtalent program, dedicated to supporting the region's most promising emerging Nordic brands. As part of this alliance, CIFF becomes an official sponsor of the program and will now host a selection of Newtalent brands in a permanent showroom in the CIFF Village. The young designers will also benefit from a dedicated space at the show, alongside fashion week, as well as enhanced access to an international network of buyers, press, and industry professionals. Support in terms of visibility, business development, and mentoring is planned throughout their journey, the value of which has not been communicated. "This collaboration with CIFF is a natural step in our mission to support Nordic talent. It enables us to combine cultural visibility with commercial impact at a decisive moment in their development," said Cecilie Thorsmark, CEO of Copenhagen Fashion Week. Although a natural dynamic already existed between CPHFW and CIFF, the two players operated in parallel but complemented each other. While fashion week focused on runway shows and showcasing designers, CIFF provided the BtoB and commercial dimension, presenting over 1,000 brands twice a year in the pavilions of the Bella Center, on the outskirts of the Danish capital. This alliance marks a desire to pool resources and expertise to consolidate Copenhagen's position as the capital of Nordic fashion. "We are proud to formalize this collaboration with Copenhagen Fashion Week. CIFF is more than just a show, it's an ecosystem where talent can grow, connect, and plan for the long term," said Sofie Dolva, the show's managing director, in a press release. This year's Newtalent program includes Anne Sofie Madsen, Bonnetjes and Berner Kühl, as well as start-ups Kettle Atelier, Stem, and Taus in the One to Watch category. A first glimpse of a generation of designers that this alliance intends to promote far beyond Scandinavia's borders.

Guess co-founder Paul Marciano: 'In fashion, every day is a challenge'

Published June 18, 2025 At its opening ceremony on Tuesday, June 17, the Florentine men's fashion trade show awarded the "Pitti Immagine Uomo 2025 Prize" to Guess, in the presence of Paul Marciano, who co-founded the American jeans brand with his brothers in 1981, and his son Nicolai, representing the new generation within the explained how the brand got off the ground with the opening of a boutique in Florence. This was the brand's first location in Europe, enabling it to draw inspiration from Italian style and, above all, to accelerate its expansion to reach sales of $3 billion (just over 2.7 billion euros). On the sidelines of the press conference, the entrepreneur spoke to about the keys to his success and his vision of today's fashion market. Paul Marciano at the Pitti Uomo award ceremony - ph DM What's it like running a fashion company? Paul Marciano: Every day is a challenge, but every day is exciting, in the sense that you always find a solution. In fact, there are challenges in everything, with customs duties, with international conflicts, and so on. What's new today? There's nothing new! It's always been that way since the company's inception. One day there's a crisis with the banks, another with the market, another with a war. We adapt. We always say 'we adapt and we manage'. That's what the fashion business is all about. But it's not easy every day. You have to be careful and well aware of all the daily challenges. Ads FNW: What's the most important thing to keep going? PM: The most important thing for me is always to maintain and protect the people who work around you. Human capital is the real value of a company. The product is important, but for me, the people who run the company are the most important element because they are the soul, the heart of the business. Without that soul, you get nowhere. FNW: How do you see the fashion market at the moment? PM: The context is still complicated. There's still a new war that exploded three days ago. But in the end, it's like this every day. When one crisis ends, another begins. I think that despite everything, fashion will keep its place. People will continue to be interested in fashion if you remain loyal and faithful to your brand. You mustn't think you can do everything for everyone. You can't. It doesn't exist. We have to stay close to our consumers, ask ourselves why they come to buy our brand, stay true to our principles, and keep the momentum going. Copyright © 2025 All rights reserved.
