What is the DCCs' new salary with 400% raise? Megan confirms

Thanks to collective bargaining by veteran team members, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders got themselves a 400% raise—a huge deal considering they were previously working multiple other jobs just to make ends meet.
But it looks like their new salary is...somewhat less than expected. As a reminder: last season on America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Kat revealed that the DCC paid her the same amount as a full-time Chick-fil-A worker (around $37,947). With that number in mind, a 400 percent raise would be somewhere around $151,000. However, Megan McElaney—who helped lead the effort to renegotiate contracts—just hopped into a fan's TikTok comments and revealed that she's making less than $75,000 a year.
"Hi! Many of the opportunities we get are optional and based on your schedule so it depends on the girl! Hoping for one day to make 75K!" Megan wrote, going on to add "This is also a part time job and sometimes it's only 2.5 hours a night! They're very respectful of our time and our personal lives!"
This comes amid Jada McLean telling the New York Times that in 2024 (her fifth year on DCC) she was making $15 an hour and $500 for each appearance. She also confirmed that the raise has them making $75 an hour, but that they still don't get health insurance. Obviously, any raise is a huge win—but sounds like there's still a ways to go before the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are truly compensated fairly! As Jada put it to the NYT, "We are more than just cheerleaders. We're talented, strong, educated women and we're hard-working athletes who deserve to be seen as such."

Mostly because of the team's trip to the Bahamas, which will go down in INFAMY (in my mind). Quick recap: Chandi broke one of the DCC's many, many rules and invited a random man into her shared hotel room—which understandably made her teammates feel unsafe. Chandi ended up taking a leave of absence, and KayDianna stepped up as First Leader. But things took a turn when KayDianna went on TikTok and referenced Chandi and the trip. To be fair, she didn't mention Chandi by name, but was still accused of "being a bully and harassing" and was suspended from the team. KayDianna ended up quitting DCC, and told Netflix producers, "I definitely didn't feel supported, I felt like I was just a body. It was as if Chandi got the perks of being a first leader and I got the responsibility part of it. When all this went down I was confused, my teammates were confused, we just didn't know what was gonna happen." So, what's KayDianna up to post DCC? First of all... "After prayerful consideration, I have made the decision to step away from my role with the Dallas Cowboys organization," she said. "While this was not the ending I had envisioned, it is one I felt led to make for myself, in full faith and peace. I'm deeply grateful for four unforgettable seasons—filled with growth, meaningful friendships, and memories that will stay with me forever. Though this door has closed, I trust fully in god's plan and the new doors he is preparing to open. I do not view this as a setback, but as a divine setup for what's next. He is not finished with me yet, and I am stepping forward with expectation and joy for all he has in store. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey—I look forward to sharing the next one with you." In multiple TikToks, no less! While it doesn't seem like many current DCCs publicly interact with KayDianna on her social, Reece went ahead and commented "Crying all over again😭" on her TikTok about leaving. Oh, and KayDianna posted this chat with Reece just a few weeks ago: Now that she's not on DCC, KayDianna has been working on her podcast, as well as teaching dance classes, and working as a competition judge. Back for season 8, it doesn't look like Phil's changing up the formula, but he is going to new locations. Guatemala, Amsterdam, Tbilisi, Sydney, Adelaide, Boston, Las Vegas and San Sebastian all feature in season 8. He's also bringing some guests with him, including "Everybody Loves Raymond" stars Brad Garrett and Ray Romano and singer Donny Osmond. If you love a food travel show, "Somebody Feed Phil" season 8 is one to check out. Watch on Netflix starting June 18 Kerry Washington may have been in the news earlier this year for "Shadow Force," but her most famous show or movie to date is still probably "Scandal." This Shonda Rhimes political thriller was a massive hit on ABC, and starred Washington as crisis manager Olivia Pope. At the show's start, she's in charge of an elite crisis management firm, but she used to work for the president of the United States, Fitzgerald Grant III (Tony Goldwyn). That's a relationship that gets her into trouble more than once as the show goes on, and trust me, this show has no shortage of drama. You can stream the entire series starting this week, and it might just become your next binge-watch. Watch on Netflix starting June 17 "The Intern" stars Robert De Niro as 70-year-old retired widower Ben Whittaker. He has grown bored with retirement and decides to rejoin the rat race as a senior intern at About The Fit, a fast-fashion startup in Brooklyn. As a former executive, he's overqualified and quickly impresses people. That gets him paired with the company's CEO, Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway). Initially, she's wondering why she even needs a senior intern, but as he begins to improve her work life, he soon becomes indispensable to her. As a Nancy Meyers movie with two incredible lead actors, the bar is set pretty high with "The Intern." Whether or not it clears that bar is subject to debate, but the floor is also really high with so much talent involved in this comedy drama, so I'll be shocked if you don't at least enjoy it. Watch on Netflix starting June 22 JUNE 16 "The Last Witch Hunter" JUNE 17 "Justin Willman: Magic Lover" (Netflix comedy special) Sleight-of-hand sorcery. Mischievous mind games. Mind-blowing illusions. Justin Willman conjures up laughs in a special where comedy and magic collide. "Kaulitz & Kaulitz" season 2 (DE) (Netflix series) The show must go on! Tom and Bill Kaulitz are back to share their exciting lives, even as dark clouds gather in paradise. ‘Ginny And Georgia' Finally Dethroned In Netflix's Top 10 List By A New Show

Ginny and Georgia Outside of a brief brush with the WWE, Ginny and Georgia has remained on top of Netflix's top 10 list for a full two weeks since it released on June 5. Fans waited years for it to return, and they were not going to miss its arrival at last. But now, at long last, Ginny and Georgia has fallen down Netflix's top 10 list, dethroned by not just one but two new shows. It's now in third, and second place is America's Sweethearts: The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, the reality series following the auditions for the famed cheerleading team and their performances and drama behind the scenes. This is season 2, which my wife has already watched, and I'm struck by how little drama there is behind the scenes, as all the girls feel like best friends, for the most part. Top 10 The new number one show on Netflix is The Waterfront. Here's the synopsis: This very much reminds me of a previous Netflix series, Bloodlines, and then sprinkling in a bit of Ozark as well. I suppose, given that most people liked those shows, Netflix is trying to find another hit in that vein, as neither are airing anymore. I am interested in the series not because of its concept but because of its cast. First, it stars Holt McCallany, Netflix royalty as one of the two stars of Mindhunter. In giving interviews about The Waterfront, he made news that it was possible that Mindhunter may return for a third season in the form of three two-hour movies, which would essentially be six episodes, but it's all down to David Fincher. In another lead role is Melissa Benoist, who was the CW's Supergirl for multiple years, and she'll always have a special place in my heart for that, even as she's about to be replaced by Milly Alcock in the DCU (star of another big Netflix show in the past month, Sirens). I also know Humberly González, as she played the lead role in a recent video game, Star Wars Outlaws. Oh, and she's in 18 episodes of Ginny and Georgia, the show she just dethroned here alongside her cast. It remains to be seen how The Waterfront will perform. A top spot debut like this is a big deal. It has a 67% critic score, but that's only with six reviews in. There isn't enough data for an audience score yet, so we will wait and see.
