Father of Pheobe Bishop's Boyfriend Speaks Out About Her Disappearance, Says His Son Is 'Still Traumatized'
The father of Pheobe Bishop's boyfriend has spoken out about the effect that the teen's disappearance has had on his son
Rick, a father of six, said his son Levi, 18, is 'still traumatized' by the tragedy
Pheobe, 17, was last seen on May 15, and two suspects have since been charged in connection with her deathThe father of the boyfriend of Pheobe Bishop, the 17-year-old Australian girl who was last seen on May 15, has revealed heartbreaking alleged details about the days leading up to her disappearance.
In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Rick — who did not want to reveal his last name — said his son, Levi, 18, was allegedly planning to meet Pheobe, his high school sweetheart, at the Perth Airport in Western Australia on May 15.
Rick told the outlet that Levi waited for Pheobe, who was supposed to have boarded a flight in Queensland on the opposite side of the country, but she never arrived.
PEOPLE reached out to Queensland Police for comment on Saturday, June 14, but did not receive an immediate response.
"Levi absolutely adored Pheobe," Rick told the Daily Mail.
'They would video chat all night, every night, falling asleep — and then they would tell each other who was sleep-talking the next day,' he continued.
Rick said Levi had been excited for Pheobe's visit for weeks.
'Levi had bought Pheobe a Canon camera worth $1,000 because she wanted to get into photography," he said, adding, 'A week before she was supposed to land, Levi had packed the 4WD up with camping gear.'

'He had planned a trip to Esperance in [Western Australia], camping on the beach with Pheobe. They were both really excited about that,' Rick continued.
The father of six added, 'It's so heartbreaking seeing what could have been a beautiful future together shattered into pieces.'
Rick said his son is 'still traumatized' by Pheobe's disappearance, and he told the outlet that this is the second major tragedy his son has experienced in a short period of time, as his mother died in a car crash four years ago.
Two suspects have been charged in connection with Pheobe's murder, per a June 5 press release from the Queensland Police.
Australia's ABC News, SBS World News and News.com.au reported that the suspects are Pheobe's housemates James Wood, 34, and Tanika Kristan Bromley, 33.
"They have been charged with one count each of murder and two counts each of interfering with a corpse," police said, adding that both suspects were due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on June 6.
The news came one day after it was reported that Wood had been arrested and questioned regarding Pheobe's disappearance, according to Australia's ABC News and News.com.au.
On June 6, police confirmed that authorities had found what was believed to be human remains at around 2:30 p.m. local time "following a search of an area near Good Night Scrub National Park near Gin Gin," per a release.
While the remains have yet to be positively identified, Pheobe's mother, Kylie Johnson, shared a statement on Facebook that same day, writing that the news was 'ripping [her] apart.'
A candlelit vigil was held in Pheobe's memory on June 8.

Police search for teenage driver after fatal crash
A woman has died and another has lost her unborn child after a car crash, with police searching for one of the drivers involved. Just before 3am on Sunday, Newcastle police officers saw a Holden sedan allegedly driving dangerously, but did not pursue it due to safety concerns. A short time later, the sedan was involved in a head-on collision with another car. A passenger in that car and believed to be in her fifties was found dead while the 28-year-old driver, who was 25 weeks pregnant, suffered serious leg injuries. Police later confirmed her unborn child had died. The two women are believed to be related. The driver and a passenger of the Holden left the scene before police arrived. Witnesses said they saw a male and female running from the area. Two other passengers in the Holden - teenage girls aged 15 and 17 - were treated by paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital under police guard in a serious condition. Police are searching for the 19-year-old male driver, acting assistant commissioner Paul Dunn said. "This is a horrible incident (and) what's occurred is truly tragic," Mr Dunn told reporters. "Two women driving around innocently, one has lost their life, one has lost their unborn child." Police have urged anyone with relevant footage or information to come forward. They also wish to speak with a 17-year-old girl believed to be the front seat passenger of the vehicle. "We do not believe this to be a stolen vehicle, but joy-riding and driving in a dangerous manner is always a real concern for us here in the Newcastle area," Mr Dunn said. A critical incident has been declared and a team from Hunter Valley Police District will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Aussies warned of $137,850 fines after illegal national park act caught on camera
Australians are being reminded that "penalties do apply" when it comes to taking trees from national parks — after wildlife monitoring cameras caught a ute driver filling up their tray with timber. In Australia, it's illegal to remove trees, whether dead or alive, Queensland's National Parks department warned this week after the vehicle was spotted brimming with logs. "We speak for the trees when we say everything within a national park and state forest is protected in Queensland," the department said online. "Whether it was a live tree like this one, or a dead one, they all play an important part in the protected ecosystem and should never be firewood sources—and penalties do apply." Thieves aren't just stealing wood — they're disrupting entire ecosystems, it said. Deadfall logs, branches and leaf litter aren't waste; they serve as critical habitats and nutrients. They feed myriad insects, fungi, mosses, and lichens, which in turn support birds, reptiles, and small mammals. Removing them clears away vital shelter and breeding grounds, damages soil health, and impedes natural decomposition, undermining ecosystem function. For live trees, the impact is even worse: removing living vegetation destroys habitat, disturbs native species, and fractures the interconnected web of forest life. Barriers that help prevent erosion can be lost, while tree roots that stabilise waterways are severed, raising the risk of sediment runoff and water pollution. Legally, the consequences are severe. In Queensland, offenders face on‑the‑spot fines of about $1,378. Worse still, court action can result in penalties of up to $137,850 for a first offence, and up to $413,550 for subsequent breaches. Critical reason behind unusual sight in Aussie trees Incredible discovery at beloved Aussie national park after tragedy Incredible way cardboard teepees fight 'crisis' in national park In one case, a man at Pinnacles Reserve near Townsville was slapped with a $1,437 Penalty Infringement Notice after being caught cutting timber from a protected area. National park laws across Australia are similarly strict: in New South Wales, someone was fined $30,000 for clearing firewood in the Murrumbidgee Valley. National parks are carefully managed to preserve complex ecosystems. Every fallen branch, rotting log, and standing tree plays a role in nutrient cycling, habitat provision, erosion control, and carbon storage. Removing items for firewood or decoration may seem harmless, but it erodes the foundation of these fragile ecosystems, undermining decades of conservation efforts.
