A former Bay City Roller star accused of stalking and harassing family members has walked free from court after a Crown bungle.
Pat McGlynn was alleged to have followed and spied on his brother and sister-in-law outside their home in Loanhead, Midlothian.
Pat, 67, was also claimed to have acted aggressively, gesticulate towards the couple and point a camera that was believed to be recording his sister-in-law at her home.
The musician was said to have carried out the stalking campaign including blocking their driveway and leaving threatening voicemails between October 2020 and September 2021.
But the former Roller was allowed to walk free from the dock on Thursday after a sheriff deserted the case due to the Crown not providing the defence team with all the required disclosure.
Sheriff Peter McCormack was told this was the seventh time the Crown had brought the case to trial but had continually failed to supply the defence team with all the information they need.
Solicitor Nigel Bruce told the court there had been 'a long-standing failure to provide disclosure by the Crown' and asked the sheriff to desert the case.
Mr Bruce said: 'The fact is that this has had a really significant effect on my client.
'He is a musician and he has been invited to produce an album and to tour in Japan and that can't take place.
'This complaint is now approaching three years and the Crown have not complied with their legal obligations.'
Sheriff McCormack said: 'This is the seventh trial diet to events said to have taken place between October 2020 and September 2021.
'It's a charge of stalking with various allegations.
'The Crown and the police have a statutory duty to disclose relevant material that they have accepted Mr Bruce has been asking for.
'Nothing has happened between the last trial diet in December and today and in these circumstances I am going uphold Mr Bruce's motion and desert the case simpliciter.'
Speaking outside court, Pat admitted the case had taken a toll on his health but added he is delighted he can now get on with music career.

'I've got a band together and I'm going to be touring and playing Bay City Roller classics like Shang-A-Lang and Bye Bye Baby as well as my own material.
'I've also got an album coming out called simply 'Pat McGlynn' and I'll be doing Roller classics on there too.
'I see Woody has done his own version of Shang-A-Lang but I'm going to show him how it's done properly.'
Pat, a rhythm guitarist, joined the Bay City Rollers in 1976 replacing departing member Ian Mitchell before leaving the following year. He was also a member of the group between 1982 and 1985.
In 1977, Pat released She'd Rather Be with Me which peaked at number 65 in Australia.
He also had success with his own band Pat McGlynn's Scotties and wrote the song So Much Of Your Love sung by pop star Sonia in the British heat of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993.

Prosecutors allege that Brown, alongside co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu, 38—a rapper and producer from Dallas—carried out the attack at the Tape nightclub in Hanover Square, Mayfair, on February 19, 2023. Both men face charges of causing grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. In addition, Brown is facing a separate charge for possession of an offensive weapon. Meanwhile, Rihanna has not yet publicly addressed the death of her father. Previously, Rihanna and her father were estranged before they eventually reconciled in recent years. In 2019, she sued her dad and claimed he capitalized on her business empire. In her filing, she alleged that his Fenty Management talent firm profited off of her Fenty Beauty line and other trademarked eponymous ventures. Former legal prostitute claims she was regularly raped by Dennis Hof and left for dead when she tried to escape
A former legal prostitute has claimed she was raped on a regular basis by Dennis Hof during the six months she worked at three of his brothels – and was beaten up so badly when she desperately tried to flee that she had multiple seizures and ended up in hospital. The shocking new A&E documentary series, Secrets from the Bunny Ranch, exposes what it claims is the seedy underbelly of Hof's legal brothels, who ran several establishments from 1992 until his death in 2018. Jennifer O'Kane Lawrence first started at Hof's Love Ranch South in Nevada and was only a legal prostitute for six months, but in that time, she claimed she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by Hof at two of his brothels and left for dead when she tried to leave. Speaking in the documentary, Jennifer said that she was first raped by him on her first day at the Love Ranch South, where she worked under the pseudonym Karmen Leigh. 'Dennis was in my room, and he asked me to sit on the bed,' she recalled. 'The door was closed, and he told me to get undressed and I did. 'Dennis started touching me and he said he gets to try all the flavors. I told him I didn't think I needed to sleep with my boss. He's like, "I've got to try you, this is how it's got to be." 'I did not authorize Dennis Hof to have sex with me, nor did I get paid,' she continued. 'I know and I feel in every bone in my body that Dennis Hof raped me. He owns us, he owns you and so he gets to try you.' Jennifer claimed the incident was swept under the rug after she tried reporting it both at the brothel and with the cops. 'I went into the town, and I went to the Nye County Sheriff's Office, and I said I wanted to report a rape. He said who? I said Dennis Hof. It didn't even phase him, it was like… and? What do you want me to do? 'I learned that day that I was a prostitute. I was nothing more than the trash underneath their feet. 'The police didn't help me. The house staff don't care. No one cared, that was it.' Jennifer said that she walked out of the police station and went back to the brothel at Love Ranch South. 'I was completely trapped at the brothel at that time. I had no money for food, I had no money for a hotel. I was stuck 25 miles outside of town in the middle of nowhere. 'I had a moment that this was my life, I'm going to make as much money as I can as fast as I can and I'm going to get the hell out of here.' Jennifer revealed that she had initially turned to the brothel to escape her abusive husband, Johnny, and was led to believe it would be a safe working environment because of what she saw on the HBO Cathouse, which was a popular television show about the brothel. Unfortunately, the violence from Hof did not stop and she claimed she was repeatedly raped by him in the short time that she was employed at his brothels. 'Once I got to his lair and he had handcuffs, toys, and all of that on the bed already,' she recalled after Hof had flown her to work at the Moonlite BunnyRanch. 'He would handcuff me to the bed. He would then stick things in me. It wasn't even sex; he would literally shove things in me that hurt. 'He dominated me. That's all he did and by doing those things, he felt like he had control over me.' She continued: 'When Dennis decided that he liked me… he raped me on a regular basis any time he was at the property. 'So, if he was there for a week, it was every night or every other night, or a couple of times a day.' While Jennifer desperately wanted to leave the industry, she became stuck there once her abusive ex-husband had tracked her down. 'I didn't leave the brothel because the fear factor was there,' she explained. 'The protection was there. I had already been through Dennis raping me, but I wasn't getting beat, so those were my choices.' Jennifer's luck began to change when she met Michael, her now husband, at Hof's Love Ranch in Pahrump. After striking up a connection, the pair continued to speak daily, and Michael spent 'quite a bit of money and kept coming back.' Eventually, during Jennifer's sixth month at the brothel, the couple decided that she was going to leave for good. The decision, however, was said to infuriate Hof who allegedly set his workers on her as she was backing out of the ranch in her U-Haul truck with her belongings. She was left so badly beaten that she had multiple seizures and was taken to hospital with head injuries. 'Dennis made it very, very, very clear that I was not to leave. That was his vagina. I thought I could quit a job… [but] it didn't work that way,' she said. Recounting the brutal attack, Jennifer claimed: 'Dennis sent his girls to beat the s**t out of me and try and kill me and they did a pretty good damn job. 'I was on the ground having grand mal seizures. Seizure after seizure after seizure. I knew every single one of them, I had smoked with them, I had done parties with them, I knew these people personally. 'I remember waking up in the hospital. I had a head injury and so Michael took me to his house, he took care of me. I never got restitution from that. I had to pay the hospital bills from it. 'Maybe a month later, my abusive ex-husband put a bullet in a young lady's head, and he shot himself in the head.' According to Mayo Clinic, a grand mal seizure causes a loss of consciousness and violent muscle contractions. Following the attack, Jennifer moved in with Michael and the pair went on to buy a house together – and they have been together ever since. 'My life is the best it's ever been in 53 years,' she gushed. 'I tell him all the time that he's my knight in shining armor and I'm waiting for the ball to drop. I have a great life.' The Moonlite BunnyRanch previously slammed the allegations made against Hof in Secrets of the Bunny Ranch in a statement to Daily Mail. They said: 'We note that allegations against Mr. Hof are not new. 'During his lifetime, Mr. Hof publicly addressed and denied similar accusations through official statements and media responses, including detailed rebuttals available on his website. 'We find it particularly concerning that these matters are being revisited now, when Mr. Hof is no longer alive to personally respond to or defend himself against any claims. 'The timing raises serious questions about fairness, as the accused party cannot provide their perspective or defense.' They added: 'The Moonlite BunnyRanch has always operated in compliance with Nevada state regulations governing legal brothels, and we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of operation and worker safety.'

Bay City Rollers icon reveals he suffered 'horrific' abuse at hands of predator
Stuart 'Woody' Wood, guitarist for the Bay City Rollers, has revealed he suffered 'horrific' abuse at the hands of 'true monster' manager Tam Paton. The Bay City Rollers formed in the late 60s and went on to have huge hits across the 70s with Bye Bye Baby and Give A Little Love. They were branded as the boys next door, with a clean-cut image that vastly contrasted the behind-the-scenes truth of the abuse they suffered at the hands of Paton. Wood, 68, has shared his experiences for the first time in an autobiography, Mania, having kept his pain a secret for five decades. 'I met Tam when I was 16 years old,' the guitarist wrote. 'He was intimidating and a bully, and all the disgusting things said about him are accurate. 'He was a predator. He abused me as he did others.' Paton was jailed in 1982 for three years after pleading guilty to the sexual abuse of 10 teenage boys. He was arrested in 2003 on child sexual abuse charges as well as being accused of trying to rape former Rollers guitarist Pat McGlynn but the police released him on insufficient evidence. Les McKeown, the late singer for the band, also claimed that Paton had raped him and had given him drugs to cope with touring and pressures. In an excerpt from his book, Wood continued: 'It was a horrific and harrowing time. The drugs he plied us with were part of that control.' The only original member, who appears on all Bay City Rollers albums, said he tried to 'let some things go' for his own peace. He wrote: 'My take is that to have a healthy mind, you have to let some things go, as much as it might pain you to do so. 'So, when Tam's squalid little life came to an end in 2009, I stopped thinking about him.' Paton died at his home in Edinburgh on April 8, 2009, at age 70 from a suspected heart attack, weighing over 25 stone (160 kg) at the time. 'He was a terrible human being, but the way I see it, he doesn't get to define me,' added Wood, defiantly. 'Tam f******g Paton doesn't get to win.' Speaking to The Sun, Wood shared: 'We never discussed it – any of us – it just happened. We were all survivors, but with Les it felt like it hit him harder.' McKeown died age 65 on April 20, 2021, from cardiac arrest, which doctors said had been caused in part by his alcohol and drug abuse over the years. In the 2023 documentary Secrets Of The Bay City Rollers, his wife Peko revealed that he used to scream in his sleep, while his son Jubei said his dad 'never found peace'. Wood acknowledged that his feelings were complex towards Paton, having invited the former manager to his 1997 wedding and calling him a 'lovable rogue' on occasion. He explained: 'It's not like I locked all those experiences away, stuffed down the bad memories, pretending they didn't happen. 'I just choose to not let them shape my life.' The allegations extended beyond the Rollers, with Paton accused of abusing boys in children's homes, which the documentary addressed. An anonymous victim said he was 13 when he was plied with drink and drugs at a star-studded party at Paton's house. He said he was raped by three men, including the manager, then blackmailed with photographs of the abuse into bringing in more victims. More Trending The man admitted it was the 'guiltiest' he's ever felt, having taken 20 boys to Paton's house but never reporting it to the police because they would 'never listen'. Others have come forward over the years, claiming abuse, including singer Nobby Clarke who said Paton told him to sleep with Radio 1 DJ Chris Denning for better promotion.
