Rap icon Drake reveals the jaw dropping amount he has gambled and lost in the past month

7NEWSa day ago

R&B superstar Drake shared online the jaw dropping amount of money he has not only gambled but lost in the past month.
The 38-year-old, born Aubrey Graham, has a long and public history of gambling but only just gave fans an inside peak into how much he is spending - and losing.
In his betting slip posted to Instagram story on Wednesday, the rapper revealed that he has spent a whopping $192 million on gambling in just the past month — while losing $12m.
'Gotta share the other side of gambling.... losses are so fried right now,' Drake wrote in the caption of his Instagram story.
'I hope I can post a big win for you all soon cause I'm the only one that has never seen a max, these guys max once a week.'
Drake has been very open and public with his gambling for years now, often backing the losing side which has coined the term the 'Drake Curse'.
A belief that any team that Drake bets on will lose, with examples including $1.8m on Sean Strickland in UFC 297, $1.5m on the Toronto Maple Leafs in game seven in 2019 and $549,000 on Mike Tyson to beat Jake Paul — all bets that lost.
The Canadian rapper does all of his gambling on the website Stake.com, which he has a partnership with that sees im doing live streams using their online casino and sports books.
His live streams became popular and a viral moment came when Drake said 'I need a max win', which fans and viewers shared online.
The slogan was characterised by the rapper as 'Anita Max Wynn', which he sold on merchandise and became the name of his tour that stopped off in Perth earlier this year.
Despite the losses, the founder of OVO Sound is not slowing down, posting another bet slip for game six of the NBA finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers.

FKA twigs designs 'sensual and strong' sneakers

FKA twigs has co-designed a pair of "sensual and strong" sneakers for activewear brand ON. The 37-year-old pop star teamed up with the company last year as a creative partner and she's starred in several campaigns but has now helped create a new capsule collection which reflects her busy lifestyle including the Cloud x FKA shoe - which retail for £170 - and the singer admits she wanted the pieces to be able to to take her from rehearsals to meetings and studio sessions. She said in a statement: "I live a busy and varied life, often moving between training, meetings, and studio sessions in a single day. I wanted to create pieces that could move with me through those shifts - pieces that feel sensual and strong, and reflect all the different sides of who I am. "This capsule collection is about feeling confident in your body and free to express yourself -- whether you're dancing, creating, or just moving through your day." A statement posted by ON on Instagram added: "A collection that explores movement as a source of constant transformation. Inspired by dance, designed for self-expression." The collection also includes the Studio Bra FKA (£75) which is designed to provide "no feel" comfort as well as the Studio Short FKA (£85) which is a hybrid of shorts and a skirt. Other pieces co-designed by the singer include tights, a long-sleeved T-shirt, a cropped hoodie, a scarf, headband and socks. The capsule collection is due to be released by the end of June. The singer previously revealed she is as meticulous about her beauty regime as she is about her fashion choices, FKA Twigs admitted she has a "vigorous" routine using "healing" products as part of a self-care ritual, telling Harper's Bazaar: "I express myself through ritual; for me it's not really about the end result, it's knowing that every single day I'm doing something to take care of myself." Twigs went on to reveal she uses Amala Pro Retinoic Treatment Oil which is packed full of 23K Gold as well as plant seeds and oils and retails at around £195. She also uses the £515 FaceGym Pro which is described as "a non-invasive facial device that uses electrical muscle stimulation to strengthen, tone and sculpt the face". She said of the gadget: "It basically lifts your face an inch ... it's like a mini facelift." The singer concluded by insisting she now has a much healthier approach to looking after herself, adding: "I used to be really hard on myself to be perfect, or have perfect skin or perfect hair, or be a certain weight. I don't feel like that anymore ... (self-care) alleviates a lot of the pressure of the usual beauty standards that I think we can all fall in a trap with".

Carlton keep fading out of games. It inspired a meme

Loading If football was played over one quarter, Carlton would be on top of the ladder, Tom De Koning would have a powerful reason to stay, and life would be rosy for coach Michael Voss. An Instagram post this week by the account Memes About Carlton, presumably run by a Blues fan, gave a glimpse into this parallel universe. Featuring highlights from the 1995 grand final under the title '2025 Carlton if AFL games ended at quarter time', the post finished with Stephen Kernahan and David Parkin holding aloft that year's premiership cup, the last won by the Blues. The Blues have won 10 of 13 first quarters, equal with Adelaide. They play daring football in this period, move the ball quickly by hand, are efficient inside 50 metres and kick straight. But things change dramatically after the first break, almost as if the quarter-time siren to them is what the stroke of midnight is for Cinderella. The key metrics drop. The Blues are less willing to handball after a mark, score conversions after entering 50m drop, as does accuracy – from third to 14th for the final three quarters. Unfortunately for success-starved Blues supporters, the events on the opening night of round one against Richmond were not an aberration, even if their subsequent fadeouts have not been as spectacular or as embarrassing. They have won just three of 13 second halves and are equal 16th for winning final quarters. In the 10 games they have led at quarter-time, they have won six, well below the competition average of 76.5 per cent. Even with one more win, they could have been playing this week for a spot in the eight. There are numerous theories to the Blues fadeouts. They are slow; they are not a good kicking team; or, don't have the fitness to play a physically taxing game built on contest and clearance are among the schools of thought.
