Amazon Tech Week Sale sees £100 off Apple Watch, LG Smart TV down 45% and more
The retail giant's new Tech Week sale has launched this week with big savings across the board.
Amazon is renowned for its seasonal sale extravaganzas, with substantial discounts during annual events such as Prime Week and Black Friday. However, the retail behemoth has launched a new Tech Week with price cuts on a broad range of laptops, smart watches, gaming devices, and more.
Amazon Tech Week started on Wednesday, May 7, and will continue until Tuesday, May 13. As far as we're aware, the event is open to all Amazon users, and shoppers don't need to be Prime members to access the discounts.
However, there is a chance that some deals may be exclusively available to Prime members. Shoppers can also utilise camelcamelcamel.com - a free Amazon price tracker - to alert them to deals as they become available.
In a similar vein, Currys has just kicked off its 'A-May-zing Deals' event, with £80 off Dyson's Tower Fan, now priced at £269.99, down from £349.99.
It features 'Air Multiplier' technology, which ensures rooms are continuously refreshed, with low noise and energy emissions. The fan is bladeless, making it easier to clean and ensuring it doesn't accumulate dust particles or release them into the air.
Meanwhile, Argos is offering a Lenovo Tab 10.1inch tablet for £119.99, down 20 per cent from its £149.99 RRP. The 64GB tablet is designed to let users experience excellent browsing, gaming, and streaming, reports the Mirror.
Amazon's Tech Week is now getting into its full swing, with current offerings including the Apple Watch Series 10, reduced to £329 from the original price of £429—that's a £100 discount. This smartwatch boasts a 30 per cent larger screen area to display vital health information like heart and respiratory rates, as well as monitor sleep patterns more easily.

Homewares deal of the week
With summer on the horizon, you'll be wanting to spend more time in your garden relaxing.
To help keep you protected from harmful UV rays, a stylish parasol can really refresh your outdoors space. Fortunately, Asda has just bought back its sell-out item that shoppers can't stop raving over.
The supermarket's highly coveted Riviera Stripe Parasol was so popular when it first launched in 2024 that it apparently "sold out in nine weeks." Now, it can be yours for just £59 when you buy it here.
The supermarket's summer garden staple is said to "bring a slice of the Riviera into any garden" thanks to its trendy striped canopy and intricate tassel edging that offers a "boho touch" to the design.
It's not just a stylish addition to your garden, as the FSC-certified wood pole has a lean function that allows you to tilt the canopy whenever you feel the position sun shift. Meanwhile, the polycotton canopy is said to be "weatherproof", making it suitable for unpredictable UK summers.
Since the Riviera Stripe Parasol sold out within just over two months last year, it's expected that it will be popular once again this year. It's also no surprise to hear that it has managed to amass glowing five-star reviews on the George at Asda website.
One delighted customer wrote: "I'm blown away by how amazing this product is. I've been wanting to get a patterned parasol with a boho touch for a while, but unwilling to spend the £150+ that they normally are. I thought I'd give this one a go, but didn't expect much for the price.
"It is exactly what I wanted. Furthermore it also tips and has a lovely case. It is stylish, good, waterproof fabric and looks like something you would get from a much fancier, 'bespoke' store. I could not recommend it more."
The Riviera Stripe Parasol can be bought online at George at Asda for £59 here.
"The battery life and screen quality are so much better. There is a lot more functionality, and it is great for tracking my walking, exercise, heart rate, and even oxygen saturation. Surprisingly accurate. It's a great watch, looks great, and is very comfortable on the wrist."
Another monster Teach Week deal sees the LG OLED 55-Inch 4K UHD Smart TV slashed by 45 per cent. Normally retailing at £1,099, you can pick it up during this sale for £609 - saving you £490.
It is an Amazon's Choice product, meaning it is highly-rated, well-priced, and available to ship immediately, and it boasts a 4.3 rating.
Shoppers hailed it as a big improvement from their previous models. One wrote: "Very clear picture and excellent sound quality. A big step up from the previous LG television."
But one customer complained that the remote control was "a nightmare" and made it "hard to use". However, another five-star reviewer added: "Huge improvement over my old TV. Excellent detailed picture. Sound is also much better."

People are just realizing what the 'I' in iPhone stands for
Almost 20 years after the release of the first iPhone, Apple customers are still wondering what exactly the 'i' even stands for. For a long time, all of Apple's products were branded with the letter 'i.' Whether it be the iPod, the iPhone, the iMac, or the iPad, it became an iconic symbol for the company. Naturally, with so many 'i' products in their inventory, people began to have their own theories. Users on social media assumed that the famous character referred to the internet, immaculate or even immediate. Others thought that it just referred to the pronoun 'I,' as in the user themselves. There's also speculation that it means intelligence, information or even is a reference to the device's software 'iOS'. One person even posted on X that they thought it meant 'individual', as in 'individual phone'. The late Steve Jobs, Apple's founder and the creator of the iPhone, actually revealed the meaning behind the 'i' before his passing in 2011. According to Reader's Digest, with Apple's first 'i' product, the iMac, the letter did in fact signify the internet. The computer, which was released in 1998, had unheard of internet technology at the time. So, Jobs and Apple decided to highlight their innovation in the name. But since then, Jobs gave other meanings to the moniker. Sure, all of his products had radical internet capabilities, but soon other companies began to catch up. Consequently, as the company grew so did the meaning. Jobs said the 'i' could stand for a whole host of iconic mission statements. Internet, individual, instruct, inform, and inspire are among a few of them. He also alluded to the letter referring to 'I' as a personal pronoun and for 'instruction,' referring to the educational aspect of his products. With new Apple AI capabilities rolling out in more recent iterations of the iPhone, 'intelligence' may even be an appropriate meaning for the recognizable 'i'. According to Jobs, there never was one true meaning for the 'i.' Instead, it fully encompassed the innovation, inspiration and iconic nature of his brand.

iPhone 17 Pro Max Camera: 5 Game-Changing Leaks You Can't Miss!
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to introduce a range of advanced camera features that could redefine mobile photography. With a focus on innovation and performance, these upgrades are expected to appeal to both casual users and photography enthusiasts. Below, we explore the most significant camera enhancements that could elevate your photography and videography experience. The video below from Matt Talks Tech gives us more details on the new cameras coming to the iPhone 17 Series. Watch this video on YouTube. Redesigned Flashlight and LiDAR Sensor Placement Apple is reportedly addressing a common issue faced by photographers: glare caused by the flashlight. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to feature a redesigned flashlight that minimizes lens glare, particularly in low-light environments. This improvement could result in cleaner, more professional-looking photos, even in challenging lighting conditions. Additionally, the LiDAR sensor is rumored to be repositioned, enhancing its functionality. This adjustment could improve depth sensing for augmented reality (AR) applications and boost low-light photography performance. Together, these changes aim to deliver a more seamless and versatile photography experience, making the device a valuable tool for creative expression. 48-Megapixel Telephoto Camera One of the most exciting rumored upgrades is the telephoto camera, which is expected to feature a 48-megapixel sensor, a significant leap from the 12-megapixel sensor in previous models. This enhancement will allow for sharper, more detailed images, particularly when zooming in on distant subjects. The telephoto lens is also rumored to include a 5x optical zoom, an improvement over the 3x zoom found in earlier iPhone models. This upgrade could be especially beneficial for capturing intricate details in wildlife photography, sports events, or architectural shots. With these advancements, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is poised to deliver a substantial boost in image quality and versatility. 50x Digital Zoom In addition to the improved optical zoom, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to support up to 50x digital zoom, using the power of the new 48-megapixel sensor. Digital zoom traditionally sacrifices image quality, but Apple's advanced computational photography algorithms are rumored to mitigate these issues. This feature could enable users to capture clearer and more detailed images, even at extreme zoom levels. Whether you're photographing distant landscapes or capturing candid moments from afar, the enhanced zoom capabilities promise to deliver sharp and vibrant results. 8K Video Recording For video enthusiasts, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to be the first iPhone to support 8K video recording. This feature would allow users to capture footage with exceptional clarity and detail, making it ideal for professional videography or playback on high-resolution 8K displays. Early leaks suggest that the device will support 8K recording at both 30 and 60 frames per second, offering flexibility for smooth, cinematic video capture. This capability could set a new standard for mobile video recording, appealing to content creators and filmmakers alike. Enhanced Front Camera The front camera is also rumored to receive a significant upgrade, featuring a 24-megapixel sensor, double the resolution of its predecessor. This improvement is expected to result in sharper, more detailed selfies with enhanced skin tone accuracy and better performance in low-light conditions. Whether you're using the front camera for video calls, social media content, or capturing personal moments, this upgrade could ensure that every frame looks polished and professional. The enhanced front camera is likely to appeal to users who prioritize high-quality visuals in their everyday interactions. What's Next for the iPhone 17 Pro Max? The iPhone 17 Pro Max is shaping up to be a highly anticipated device for mobile photography and videography. With its redesigned flashlight and LiDAR placement, upgraded telephoto and front cameras, enhanced zoom capabilities, and support for 8K video recording, it promises to set a new benchmark for smartphone imaging. While the official release date is expected in mid-September, pricing details remain uncertain and could vary based on market conditions. If you're considering upgrading your smartphone, the iPhone 17 Pro Max's advanced camera features could make it a compelling choice. Shoppers dub cooling blanket a 'game-changer during hot nights' amid sale
'I love it, it really cools you down on hot nights, my little girl has nabbed it from me now so I will have to buy a second one.' While the weather has been seen to fluctuate over the past few months, the nights are certainly warmer, which has caused many people to struggle with getting to sleep. And with a heatwave set to hit the country this weekend, many people are looking for ways to keep cool during the night. While fans can be a popular option, they can also be nosy and ultimately add an extra cost to your bills. For those looking for an alternative option, Amazon has dropped the price of a product that shoppers are dubbing a "game-changer". The Luxear Cooling Blanket comes in a variety of sizes, but the 220cm by 240cm edition has been given a price slash as part of a limited time deal. Normally retailing for £44.99, shoppers who struggle to sleep in the heat can now grab it for £38.24. Designed with Arc-Chill 3.0 Japanese technology, this cooling blanket is said to deliver a cool, calm, sweat-free night during the hot summer months. With a Q-Max 0.5, this blanket delivers a cool feeling when it is touched, which will help regulate the user's temperature. While there are different sizes available for shoppers, this edition is perfect for those who have a double or king size bed. Described as a super light and portable, this blanket can be taken on trips away in the car, hiking, or simply thrown over the sofa. The blanket also comes with moist absorption to avoid the formation of bacteria, and it is also said to be friendly for the skin and anti-allergenic. Additionally, this blanket is machine washable and it can be used all year round as one side features the cold material, while the other is made of 100 per cent cotton for a breathable and flexible blanket. Another popular cooling blanket available on Amazon is the Elegear Cooling Blanket. Currently down to £33.99 in a limited time deal (RRP £39.99), this blanket is said to be able to reduce the skin's temperature by two to five degrees as it is specifically designed for night sweats and hot sleepers. Alternatively, shoppers can save £10 on the Silentnight Restore Cooling Throw. Normally retailing for £45, shoppers can get this throw for £35 in a limited time deal. Made with innovative cooling fabrics, this product can be used as either a blanket or a duvet. For those worried about lack of sleep during the heatwave, Luxear's Cooling Blanket has become popular amongst customers as it currently boasts a 4.3 star rating. Many shoppers have praised the blanket for its cool touch and how it has improved their sleep. One happy shopper said: "I bought the Luxear Cooling Blanket for summer, and it's been a game-changer during hot nights. The Arc-Chill technology really works—this blanket keeps you cool and comfortable, even when the temperature rises. The fabric feels smooth and breathable, and I've noticed I sleep a lot better without overheating." While another five-star reviewer commented: "I love it, it really cools you down on hot nights, my little girl has nabbed it from me now so I will have to buy a second one. The blanket feels quite heavy, which is quite cosy too. Colour is nice, good value for money." However, a few shoppers had slight issues with the blanket, as one person said: "I wish this was a duvet cover instead of a blanket as it doesn't stay put on the bed. Lovely to feel the cooler side on these hot nights." While another person added: "Useful to help keep you cool in the heat but will eventually obviously stop being able to take the heat away from you so will warm up. Also not entirely sure how I'm going to wash it as it's already quite weighted so not sure how heavy it will be once wet!" On the flip side, a delighted shopper said: "Was a bit sceptical at first but honestly couldn't be happier, product is super soft and durable and actually slept really well with the arc-chill 3.0 would highly recommend." With a further person writing: "I was sceptical, but very pleased with the cooling properties of this blanket. I struggle to regulate my temperature, and during the recent warm weather this was an absolute godsend, particularly at night, as I cannot sleep without something over me, no matter how warm it is."
