Woman arrested after Netflix star killed in horror hit-and-run
Million Dollar Beach House star Sara Burack, 40, was found by police unconscious at the side of the road.
A popular Netflix star has been killed in a horror hit-and-run, which sparked a large-scale manhunt to find the driver.
Sara Burack, an estate agent known for appearing on Million Dollar Beach House, was struck by a car just before 3am on Thursday, June 19, on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, New York.
The 40-year-old was discovered "unconscious and with serious injuries" by emergency services, according to a press release from the Southampton Town Police Department.
She was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, but tragically died a short time later. A huge search was launched by local and state authorities for the driver responsible, who had fled the scene, the Mirror reports.
32-year-old Amanda Kempton, from the state of Virginia, was eventually traced, arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a fatality, which is punishable by up to four years behind bars.
Officials have not yet revealed information about how she was identified as a suspect, but have urged anybody with information on the incident to come forward to the police to assist their investigation.

Sara had once worked for high-end property company Nest Seekers International, which operates in Manhattan and the Hamptons. Her time with the firm saw her feature in the Netflix show, which followed a team of ambitious young agents trying to sell multi-million dollar properties in the Hamptons.
The show's description reads: "The competition is fierce - and the drama undeniable - as a group of young and hungry agents try to seal the deal on luxury listings in the Hamptons."
Despite leaving the firm over a year ago, she stayed in touch with ex-colleagues. Geoff Gifkins, its Hamptons regional manager, said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends. Please be kind and respectful as this is a tremendous loss to her parents and close friends."
Sara started out working in her family's commercial construction and materials company. She previously told Hamptons.com: "I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent."

Emergency crews rushed to Forth Street in Pollokshields just after midnight on Saturday. Police are probing a firebomb attack outside a Glasgow supermarket. Three vehicles were torched outside Strawberry Garden - a grocers and cash and carry - after midnight on Saturday. I couldn't get out to see my car for a while so I didn't know if it was on fire or not. "I had parked further down Forth Street earlier. Luckily it was far enough away from the blaze. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 12.05am on Saturday, 21 June, 2025, police received a report of three vehicles on fire in the Forth Street area of Glasgow. "The fires were extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no injuries were reported. The incident is being treated as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing.' A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "Around 12.08am Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to a report of three vehicles on fire on Forth Street, Glasgow. "We mobilised three appliances to the scene. There were no reports of injuries. "Crews left at 2.09am."

A dad is accused of leaving his baby son inside his scorching hot car for more than three hours whilst he went to get a haircut and had a drink at a bar. Police in Florida arrested the 33-year-old on Thursday and charged him with aggravated manslaughter of a child and child neglect causing great bodily harm, The Mirror reports. Authorities said: "Gardner is responsible for the death of his 18-month-old son Sebastian, who was left helpless in a hot truck for more than 3 hours on the afternoon of Friday, June 6, while Gardner got a haircut and then went drinking inside Hanky Panky's Lounge." The Volusia Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post that during the investigation, Gardner"gave multiple false accounts" of what happened on the day the toddler died. According to officials, the tragic tot's body temperature reached 111F - nearly 44C - when he was left in the car. At the time, temperatures outside had reached 92F - 33C - at Hanky Panky's Lounge in Ormond Beach, where the car with the toddler was parked. Sadly, despite life-saving measures carried out by law enforcement, the little boy passed away. Police were able to track down Gardner to his mother's home in Ormond beach, nearly two weeks on from the tragedy. Footage shared by the Volusia Sheriff's Office on social media shows that as the man was dragged away from the home, two unidentified people shouted at him from the property, saying they loved him. "I love you guys," Gardner replied before one of the officers told him: "Say goodbye, because you're not going to come back here again." "If internal body temperature rises above 40°C, this can result in heatstroke – a medical emergency. Organs begin to fail, and without rapid treatment, it can be fatal."
