1 person rushed to trauma centre after two-vehicle crash in North York

Toronto police say they responded to the crash at Sentinel Road and Sheppard Avenue at approximately 8:23 a.m. The condition of both drivers remains unknown at this time. Police have closed the intersection of Sentinel Road and Sheppard Avenue, as well as Sentinel Road at Finch Avenue, to investigate the crash. Motorists are being urged to 'expect delays.'

78‑year‑old Brampton man charged after ignoring construction flagger on Highway 17

A 78‑year‑old Brampton man has been charged with stunt driving after he allegedly ignored a construction site flagger on Highway 17 west of Marathon Ont. OPP say they received a complaint on Thursday, just after 9:30 a.m. The man was charged with driving a motor vehicle while performing a stunt (excessive speed) and failing to obey a traffic control stop sign. Police did not name the driver but say they suspended his licence for 30 days and impounded the car for 14 days. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Nipigon on Aug. 11. The OPP is reminding the public to drive safely and report impaired, aggressive, or careless driving by calling 911 in emergencies.

3-year-old boy dies after being struck by vehicle in Bedford, N.S.
A three-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle on Brownstone Way in Bedford, N.S., Friday, June 20, 2025. He died in hospital. (Jim Kvammen/CTV Atlantic) A three-year-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle in Bedford, N.S. Halifax Regional Police responded to the scene Friday around 7:50 p.m. Police said the vehicle-pedestrian collision happened on Brownstone Way. According to police, the boy was crossing the street when he was hit. He was rushed to hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. 'Halifax Regional Police extend heartfelt condolences to the boy's family,' said police in a news release Friday. 'Police also extend thanks to the witnesses and bystanders who remained at the scene through the evening.' Police said the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid at this time.
