Weston Gosa Sr underfire after Whitney Purvis misses her late son's funeral
Former 16 and Pregnant star Whitney Purvis was reportedly turned away from her 16-year-old son Weston's funeral earlier this month after arriving late and not being listed among the invited guests.
Purvis' son, whom she shared with ex-husband Weston Lewis Gosa, died on June 2 in Gordon County, Georgia. An official cause of death has not yet been released.
The private funeral took place shortly after, but a reported miscommunication led to Purvis missing the ceremony and being denied access.
According to TMZ, Purvis arrived at the funeral home around 4 p.m. — the time she says she was told the service would begin.
However, the ceremony had already concluded two hours earlier, and her name was reportedly not on the guest list provided to organisers. Sources close to the former reality TV personality believe her ex-partner was behind the confusion, though Gosa denies any wrongdoing.
Speaking to US outlets, Gosa insisted that he informed Purvis of the correct timing well in advance, claiming he told her the viewing began at 2 p.m., followed by the service at 4 p.m.
He also alleged that Purvis did not arrive until 4:15 p.m., at which point the chapel doors had been locked. He further stated that her mother, aunt, and uncle were admitted earlier, having shown up at the scheduled time.

Following the incident, Gosa claimed he received an angry message from Purvis, in which she called him "evil" for preventing her from saying goodbye to their son. He countered her claims by reportedly sending her a photograph showing that her name was, in fact, on the list.
The service for Weston was held privately 'due to the nature and circumstances of this tragic loss,' according to family statements.
Gosa and his current wife have since purchased a separate urn so that Purvis may have a portion of her son's ashes.
Purvis, who rose to fame in 2009 on MTV's 16 and Pregnant, later lost custody of both Weston and her younger son, River, reportedly following a 2024 arrest over unpaid child support.
Gosa has had his own legal troubles in recent years, with charges including driving on a suspended licence and property damage.

DDG fires back at critic during Father's Day post amid custody battle with Halle Bailey
Rapper DDG responded to online backlash over a Father's Day tweet, amid his ongoing legal conflict with singer and actress Halle Bailey regarding their son, Halo Saint. On June 15, DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) tweeted, 'Happy Father's Day to all the active dads worldwide.' A pop culture page, Pop Tingz, sarcastically quoted the post with, 'So not you?' DDG fired back, calling the critic 'irrelevant,' adding, 'I can cashapp you the worth of this page… I support the LGBT community.' The exchange sparked mixed reactions online, with some siding with Pop Tingz and criticizing DDG's response. The rapper and Bailey, who began dating in 2022 and welcomed their son in December 2023, announced their separation in 2024 and have since been embroiled in multiple legal disputes over parenting rights. Earlier this year, Bailey filed for a restraining order, alleging that DDG's behavior—such as false accusations and inflammatory livestreams—had led to online harassment. According to TMZ, she claimed his actions posed an 'imminent emotional and psychological risk' to their child. A Los Angeles court granted her a 100-day restraining order in May. In June 2025, DDG filed for his own restraining order, also requesting the court prevent Bailey from taking their son abroad, specifically to Italy. He alleged that her emotional instability could negatively impact Halo. According to Hot New Hip Hop, the court granted a partial protective order to DDG but found insufficient evidence to block Bailey's travel or custody rights. The order includes measures to prevent emotional abuse and permits third-party mediation in custody arrangements.
