BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell heartbroken over Chris McCausland as she goes 'solo'
The professional dancer revealed her sadness over her partnership with dance partner, turned friend Chris McCausland as she is left to go 'solo'.
Dianne Buswell has revealed her 'sadness' around her partnership with Chris McCausland as she recently had to go 'solo' without her dancing partner.
The duo, who took part in Strictly Come Dancing, have remained good friends away from the ballroom, since being crowned champions of the BBC One dance competition in December.
More recently, Dianne was once again seen celebrating her joint success with comedian Chris, Strictly's first-ever blind contestant, months after they won the 2024 series of the hit dance show.
Earlier this month, the pair received the Memorable Moment Award - which was voted for by the public - at the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Their moving Waltz to the Liverpool anthem You'll Never Walk Alone, which they performed again in the Strictly final, was the routine that earned them the nomination.
In the emotional performance, Dianne stepped away from the ballroom floor to allow Chris to dance on his own, before she returned to spin in his arms in a tear-jerking moment.
As Dianne took to the state to collect the award on her own, as Chris was committed to his stand up tour, Yonks!, which he had already delayed to take part in Strictly in the first place.
While accepting their award, Dianne revealed that Chris had prepped her with a few words on his behalf just in case they won. She said: "Chris did have something he wanted me to say, and that is 'After 22 years in comedy, he wins a Bafta for dancing,"' before joking that he said it "hurts"
Now, Dianne has posted a new photo from the night, looking stunning in a shimmering blue gown that paid homage to the costumes from their award winning performance, as she posed with their blue glass award.
Alongside the post, Dianne wrote: "Love this pic so much taken by @rachell_photo at the @bafta the only thing that makes me sad is Chris is not in it," alongside a blue heart emoji.
"But don't worry I will keep reminding him daily that he won a Bafta for DANCING @chrismccauslandcomedy," she continued.
Fans were quick to take to the comment section, as one wrote: "It also makes me sad that Chris isn't in it, hopefully whenever you two meet up again you can do your own photoshoot together," Dianne replied: "Yessss 100 percent. How perfect if he was there with me."
Meanwhile others were keen to comment to compliment Dianne on her outfit, with one writing: "I think this is my fav pic from the night! Gorg!!" As a second penned: "Beautiful. And so happy for you. Well deserved BAFTA. Huge Congrats and so much love Dianne."
While another fan gushed over the colour of Dianne's dress, stating: "Out of any colour they could've chosen for the Bafta and they went with the blue, it was for sure an absolute sign! forever grateful to the producers who made the decision to partner you both. you deserve every bit of praise and recognition."

Claudia Winkleman 'eternally grateful' after undergoing surgery
Claudia Winkleman has undergone eye surgery, she has revealed. The Traitors host, 53, has taken to social media to thank her eye surgeon for operating on her today. 'This amazing human makes me see. He's operated on my eyes before and he did it again today,' she said on Instagram, alongside a picture of her next to Dr Julian Stevens. 'No eyeliner for weeks and I sleep in googles (no words) but I'm eternally grateful,' she added. 'Do NOT zoom in on my left eye – it's wonky. Thank you Julian. I paid for the treatment, this isn't an ad. I just love him. It's very possible I'm still a bit sedated. Night night.' The Strictly presenter's comments section was flooded with support from well-wishers, as follower Suzanne Robinson said: 'Get well soon.' 'Love you !! Hope you feel better. Amazing man,' said ava_xoox while gurcharan_davany added: 'Speedy recovery eyeliner queen.' While it's not clear why Claudia underwent the surgery this time, she's previously been open about suffering with severe short-sightedness, which means she can't see objects far away. Speaking on the How To Fail podcast in 2023 about how she doesn't take too much notice of her appearance, Claudia explained: 'I was born, I think with minus 15 [eyes], so I've never really been able to see my face. It's all guesswork.' Claudia – who is known for her iconic long fringe – went on to say she's had operations because she was 'banging into walls' and she now wears lenses and glasses. However, despite laser eye surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Claudia found her vision was still blurry. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video She added: 'I've always had terrible eyesight, which is going back to the blurriness of the paintings I like, and the blurriness of how I'd really like life to be, which is no overhead lights – 17th century is where I would have absolutely smashed it.' Finding lightness in her eye issues – and acknowledging her trademark black eyeliner – Claudia said: 'Often when the kids have been playing with my phone with the camera switched round and I have to call somebody or I'm making a call, I'm like 'I don't understand why Ozzy Osbourne..I didn't even invite him round', and then I'm like, 'Ah, it's me.' More Trending Earlier this year, Claudia also touched on her condition on Gabby Logan's The Mid Point podcast. 'I've had so many operations on my eyes. I had a lens replacement in my left eye because my astigmatism was so bad I was minus 16, but that was 14 years ago,' she said. Claudia explained how she then became long-sighted: 'Then I had a little fiddle with but because I was so short sighted by then fixing it I'm now long sighted so I can't really read any more. 'I can with glasses, I've got plus 2.5 but I can't read The Bee Sting with those glasses and that light.' Got a story? The Strictly Come Dancing co-host was flooded with support as she shared a candid update with her fans on Friday night. Posing next to a medical professional, Claudia, 53, looked unrecognisable without her usual heavy fake tan and smokey eye make-up as she donned a hospital gown for the picture. Captioning the image, The Traitors host told her Instagram followers: "This amazing human makes me see. He's operated on my eyes before and he did it again today. No eyeliner for weeks and I sleep in goggles (no words) but I'm eternally grateful. "Do NOT zoom in on my left eye - it's wonky. Thank you Julian. I paid for the treatment, this isn't an ad. I just love him. It's very possible I'm still a bit sedated. Night, night." Gogglebox star Izzi Warner was one of the first comment on Claudia's post, writing: "We still have the costume and Bobby is willing to wear the eye liner for you if you need a stand in Claudia! Happy healing." "You look beautiful Claudia," Drag Race UK star Baga Chipz told the TV star, with a fan adding: "He did my eye surgery about 8 years ago! Played rock music as he did it. He told me it would be life changing and he was right. Amazing man!" Claudia's health update comes just days on from the popular star being made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the King's Birthday Honours. The mum-of-three presenter was honoured on last week alongside her Strictly Come Dancing co-host, Tess Daly, for services to broadcasting. Claudia said: "I am incredibly grateful to receive this honour. It's a real privilege to work with extraordinarily talented people and I have only got this because of them. She also presented on BBC Radio 2 until 2024, hosting different programmes on the station including the comedy quiz series Hot Gossip, the Claudia Winkleman Arts Show and Claudia On Sunday.
