Vinay Pathak praises the film's simplicity, saying, 'The most powerful stories come from the smallest, most honest moments.' Amruta Subhash adds, 'Chidiya is about dreaming big in narrow lanes, with truth and presence at its core.' Anupam Kher breaks down the ‘richness' of Kashmiri cuisine
Mumbai: Veteran actor Anupam Kher, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film 'Metro... In Dino', is lavishing praise on the cuisine of his homeland, Kashmir. The actor recently spoke with IANS in the run-up to the film's release, and recollected the time when he introduced actor Vinay Pathak to the Kashmiri cuisine during the shooting of 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', an earlier story which was published by IANS. Walking down the memory lane, Anupam shared how it all happened. He told IANS, 'I introduced Vinay to Kashmiri food, and he said, 'Kashmiri food is like this?' I said, 'Yes'. I introduced the cuisine to him, and I was very happy. Because he thought it must be something else. I read a lot about it recently that Vinay Pathak spoke about the incident. It was just somebody introducing me to Japanese food, a long time back'. He further mentioned, 'The richness of Kashmiri food is that there is no tomato, no onion and no garlic in it. And yet it is the tastiest cuisine. But that way India is a very rich country in terms of food. After every 500 km, you get new food. Gujarati, Marathi and different kinds of thaalis'. Earlier, Vinay had told IANS, 'I remember, Anupam introduced me to Kashmiri food for the first time. I am a vegetarian, so I thought, Kashmiri food is not for me. He told me, 'You're in for a treat. We will take you to a place'. And, he introduced me to a place in Delhi for Kashmiri cuisine. And, I fell in love with Kashmiri cuisine. We used to leave the game to give our shots. Sometimes we would play 20 questions. Anupam taught us 3-4 new games'. Presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series presents, in association with Anurag Basu Productions Pvt. Ltd., 'Metro In Dino' is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu. The film is set to arrive in cinemas on July 4, 2025.

In a world where women's health issues are often brushed aside, Me No Pause Me Play takes a bold stand by addressing menopause — a phase that affects every woman, yet remains shrouded in silence, stigma, and misinformation. Mood swings, anxiety, body pain, emotional breakdowns, hormonal imbalances — these are not just symptoms, but lived realities that deserve acknowledgment, care, and compassion. Speaking about the project, director Samar K Mukherjee shared: 'Cinema has the power to reflect society's truths — and the truth is, menopause is real, painful, and ignored. This film is not just about a woman's transformation; it's about society's awakening. It's time we stop whispering about menopause and start talking about it with dignity and honesty.' Writer and producer Manoj Kumar Sharma added: 'As a writer, I always believed stories can heal, stories can liberate. Menopause is not just a medical phase — it's a deeply emotional and psychological journey that women go through silently. Through this film, I want to give them a voice, a sense of belonging, and a reason to be proud of their strength. Me No Pause Me Play is a tribute to every woman who has lived through pain without ever demanding recognition.' The makers describe this film as more than just cinema — it is a movement to normalize the conversation around menopause. For the first time in global cinema, a mainstream narrative puts the spotlight on what millions of women endure, often in isolation. Speaking at the muhurat, Kamya Punjabi said:'It's time to break the silence. Menopause is not a pause to life — it's a transition that deserves support, visibility, and respect.' 'Me No Pause Me Play is a beautiful film with a subject that speaks to every woman. Just like we acknowledge the hormonal and emotional changes teenagers go through during puberty, it's equally important to understand the transformation women experience during menopause — especially after the age of 45. Emotional support during this time is crucial, and as a woman, I feel it's my responsibility to be part of a story that empowers others. That's why I said yes to this film. It's written so thoughtfully — reminding us that life doesn't pause with menopause. You pause, reflect, and play again. That's the message, and I'm proud to be part of a project that inspires strength, resilience, and self-love.' — Deepshikha Nagpal* Me No Pause Me Play is more than a film — it is a movement for awareness, empathy, and empowerment.

However, some actors are known for their depth beyond their superficial appearance and lifestyle. One such tale belongs to an actor who is known not just as a great artist but also recognised for his grounded nature and simplicity. Besides being an actor, he is also a mentor, theatre director, writer, and producer. The actor we are talking about is none other than Vinay Pathak. Vinay was born in Bihar, and away from the world of limelight, he was a studious and well-read kid who wanted to enter the world of corporate. He even enrolled in Stone Brook University in the United States to pursue an MBA, but destiny had other plans. During his time in time in U.S., he developed a fascination for cameras and lights, and he started performing on stage, and soon theatre became his second home. Balancing both together, he attended acting workshops along with his ongoing studies. Eventually, he realised that his true calling is not in business but in building and playing characters. Halfway into his MBA, he dropped out of it and returned to India to chase his acting dream. Coming back to India, he ventured into his career with Doordarshan's show Hip Hip Hurray. Carving his own niche, Vinay got into this industry with sheer talent and dedication. But the turning point came for Vinay with the 2007 comedy Bheja Fry, in which he portrayed the innocent and lovable Bharat Bhushan. His impeccable comic timing, strong screen presence, and simplicity won hearts of million with him soon turning into a household name. Besides this, he has also done some impeccable performances in films like Dasvidaniya, Chhoti Si Baat, and Gaur Hari Dastaan. But what stood out was his ability to make every character feel real and relatable. Vinay Pathak's contribution to cinema isn't just limited to acting. He has been a theatre teacher, guest lecturer, and mentor to many aspiring actors. Recently, he got a lot of praise for his work in the film Chidiya and the web series Gram Chikitsalay. Famously known 'Bihari Babu,' he has done justice to this title by carrying the essence of Bihar with him, which is his simplicity and warmth. From humour to pain, Vinay is a versatile actor who can emote any feeling on the screen.
