OnePlus Pad 2 Pro specs leak — this tablet is a beast

OnePlus may be working on a powerful new tablet that could launch this year. The new tablet is reportedly the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro.
Specs for the beastly new tablet were shared by regular leaker Digital Chat Station over on Weibo. DCS claimed that that Pro version of the Pad 2 is one of only two tablets expected to launch in the first half of 2025 featuring Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
However, it's unclear what the other tablet supposedly is and we couldn't find it mentioned in his Weibo feed.
As for the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro, DCS says (via machine translation) that the tablet is "more oriented towards gaming and e-sports."
It's supposed to feature the Snapdragon chip and 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM alongside 1TB of storage.
It'll also be larger the than the OnePlus Pad 2 with a 13.2-inch LCD display about an inch larger than the 12.1-inch panel on last year's tablet. It should match the Pad 2 with a 3.4K resolution.
For cameras, the Pro version is supposed to have a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front cam.
For charging it'll either have 67W or 80W charging with a "super 10,000-level large battery." If OnePlus is known for one thing it has to be battery life and last year's tablet ran out a 9,000 mAh battery that had provided epic battery life in Tom's Guide testing at nearly 15 hours.
It's looking like the Pad 2 Pro will likely have even longer battery life with its larger battery and optimization and efficiency with the Qualcomm chip.
If this tablet turns out to be real, the question is whether or not the global audience will get this version. Last year, OnePlus released the OnePlus Pad Pro as a China-only tablet.
However, the OnePlus Pad 2 that came out in the United States was the same tablet specs-wise.
If we do see this Pad 2 Pro outside of China it will likely launch as the OnePlus Pad 3. The Pad 2 came out in June of 2024 so we expect a similar launch window for the Pad 3, if it comes to the States.

Tesla Friday signed a $556.8 million agreement to build a grid-scale battery storage station in China. The deal is with China Kangfu International Leasing Co., as well as the Shanghai local government. It's the first Tesla large-scale battery storage facility in China. In a statement on Chinese social media site Weibo, Tesla said, 'Tesla's first grid-side energy storage power station project in mainland China has been officially grid-side energy storage power station is a 'smart regulator' for urban electricity, which can flexibly adjust grid resources.' Tesla said that, when complete, this project is expected to become the largest grid-side energy storage project in China. Utility-scale battery energy storage assists energy grid management by keeping supply and demand in balance. More is being built worldwide. Tesla competed against two Chinese companies that offer similar products. CATL and automaker BYD have significant global market share in these battery storage products. China's J-35 Naval Stealth Fighter Seen Like Never Before

A new photo provides our best view so far of the Shenyang J-35, China's next-generation carrier-based fighter. It's part of a relative flurry of imagery showing some of China's latest military aircraft in unusual detail. In sharp contrast to the blurry or heavily edited shots we have become familiar with out of China in the past, these various high-quality images provide a fascinating snapshot of the breadth of developments taking place right now in China's military aerospace realm. 3501 + 3506. — Stray Helium ◂Ⓘ▸ (@Alfa_Particle) June 19, 2025 The J-35 photo at the top of this story began to circulate recently on social media and, since it's an air-to-air study, almost certainly originates from the People's Liberation Army (PLA) or another official Chinese state source. In it, we see two prototype J-35s in close formation. Of these, serial 3501 is fitted with a pitot boom for flight tests, while serial 3506 appears to be completed to something closer to a production standard, with its radome likely housing a radar. However, both jets sport a ventral bolt-on Luneburg lens (radar reflector). This is customary on stealth fighters when low observability is not required, when it can pose a challenge for flying in dense airspace, or when masking the aircraft's true signature from foreign intelligence. Meanwhile, another pair of photos of serial 3506, which are of somewhat lower quality, are nonetheless very interesting. Seen from the rear aspect, they provide a better look at the engines, thought to be locally produced WS-13E turbofans, which have distinctive 'serrated' nozzles. Based on this same image, there's been speculation that it might show a cannon port, above the left-hand air intake. If that's correct, it would be the first indication that the J-35 has an internal gun, a feature that has been notably troublesome in the F-35, which the Chinese jet is often described in the mainstream press as being a copy of. A navalized variant of the land-based FC-31, the first flying J-35 prototype made its initial flight, at least that we know of, in October 2021, sporting a blue-green primer finish and wearing the serial 3501. The second known flying J-35 prototype, serial 3503, was subsequently spotted in July of 2022 with a low-visibility gray tactical paint scheme. There was speculation that a third was pictured in flight in September 2023, although, as we noted at the time, the quality of the imagery made it difficult to ascertain whether the aircraft was indeed a navalized J-35 or a land-based FC-31 variant. Since then, we've had growing indications that the J-35 might eventually operate from the People's Liberation Army Navy's (PLAN) two in-service carriers, the Type 001 Liaoning and the Type 002 Shandong, as well as future carriers fitted with catapults and arrestor gear, including the Type 003 Fujian, which is now undergoing pre-service trials. Late last year, China publicly unveiled the J-35A, a land-based stealth fighter version of the FC-31/J-35 that has been under development for some time and which you can read about in more detail here. There is also growing speculation that Pakistan will become the first export recipient of the J-35 (likely under the FC-31 export designation). In early 2024, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) boss, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Sidhu, stated the service was planning to buy the stealth fighters, as we discussed at the time. Earlier this month, Pakistan's government stated on X that the country had been offered '40 fifth-generation Shenyang J-35 stealth aircraft, Shaanxi KJ-500 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C), and HQ-19 air defense systems from China,' according to an online translation. As well as the new J-35 photos, a number of new images have recently appeared showing another aircraft set to be a critical component of China's future carrier air wings. This is the KJ-600 carrier-based airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft, a type we have also profiled in depth in the past. New photos of the KJ-600 in the air provide us with our best look at this aircraft, too, including its close similarity with the E-2 Hawkeye, which fulfills the same role aboard U.S. Navy carriers. Once integrated aboard the Fujian (and likely other PLAN carriers that will follow that warship), the radar plane will bring some significant benefits to the wider PLAN, as we described in the past: 'In terms of the role that the KJ-600 will play in the air wing that the PLAN appears to be assembling for its newest Fujian aircraft carrier, it will be tasked with extending the carrier's radar range dramatically, especially when it comes to spotting low-flying objects or even surface contacts, similar to how the E-2 operates. This is on top of working as a battlespace manager. Controllers onboard will vector aircraft as needed and work as central command and control and battlespace awareness elements for highly coordinated missions. The KJ-600's radar picture and other passive sensor systems' data will be linked back to the carrier group and to other tactical aircraft for real-time exploitation. Working as a central data-fusion and rebroadcasting node is also a good possibility.' Based on the four-jet Y-20 cargo plane, the KJ-3000 is part of a fast-expanding and diversifying fleet of Chinese AEW&C aircraft, which also includes multiple iterations based on the four-turboprop Y-9 series of airlifters. The KJ-3000 falls into the 'heavyweight' category and is expected to supplement — and eventually replace entirely — the KJ-2000 Mainring, which is, to date, China's largest dedicated AEW&C aircraft. On the other hand, Beijing clearly has a desire to publicize recent military achievements, at least where this is deemed appropriate or advantageous. Android Circuit: Galaxy Z Fold7 Details, Honor Magic V5 Previewed, OnePlus Nord 5 Arrives

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Taking a look back at this week's news and headlines across the Android world, including Galaxy Z Fold7 specs, Pixel 10 Pro features leak, Galaxy S26 benchmarking, OnePlus Nord 5 released, Poco F7 debuts, Honor promises record-breaking Magic V5, and Google Photos' upgrade. Galaxy Z Fold's Practical Upgrade Samsung has revealed details of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 on three occasions in the last three weeks, and it may not be done yet. Nevertheless, new details on the specs are coming out alongside the official teasers. One of those regards the cover screen of the foldable and how practical the Fold 7 will be when closed: "This is good news and precisely what Fold users, myself included, have been calling for since rivals OnePlus and Google launched their wider-screened foldable phones. As exciting as that design shift will be, it was expected. I thought Samsung would make this change immediately after the Fold 6 launched last summer." (Forbes). Pixel 10's New Camera Feature Google looks set to make a switch with its macro photography option for the Pixel 10 family by moving the feature from the ultrawide hardware into the telephoto hardware. It's an approach used by other manufacturers, leading to improved close-up images: "Telephoto sensors are typically better, optics-wise, than the ultrawide sensor. Providing a better quality image on macro. Additionally, using the telephoto sensor means you can be further away from the subject, which is great for capturing insects. But it also means that you and the camera won't be blocking the light. Keep in mind that macro photography does need a good bit of light to produce a good image." (Android Headlines). Galaxy S26 Ready To Challenge The iPhone 17 Looking further ahead to next year's Galaxy S26 family, new details have leaked on the potential performance of the Snapdragon Elite 2 chipset earmarked for the South Korean flagship. The numbers match the single-core numbers of Apple's upcoming A19 Pro, and show a significant lead in multi-core performance: "The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip is rumored to be fabricated on TSMC's third-generation 3nm process node. Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has posted the chip's preliminary CPU performance results on Weibo. The chip's octa-core CPU reportedly scores over 11,000 points in Geekbench 6's multi-core CPU performance test and over 4,000 points in the single-core CPU performance test." (SamMobile). OnePlus Nord 5 Revealed OnePlus has confirmed a launch date of July 8 for the latest Nord phone, the OnePlus Nord 5. Alongside it, OnePlus also revealed the OnePlus CE5 OnePlus Pad Lite, OnePlus Watch 3, and OnePlus Buds 4. As the Nord 5 is squarely in the flagship-killer category, OnePlus will be balancing performance with price, none more so than in the choice of processor. It has stepped back to last year's flagship Snapdragon, which should offer capability while keeping the cost relatively low: "The Nord 5 is the latest in the company's mid-range smartphone line, and is the first Nord to feature a flagship Qualcomm chip — in this case the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3, which was designed for cheaper flagship phones — along with an upgraded cooling system and support for LPDDR5X RAM. That's all we know about the phone's specs, but from the picture we can glean that it'll come in a pale blue finish (officially dubbed 'Dry Ice') and features a dual rear camera." (The Verge). Poco F7 Debuts Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 We already knew that the F7 would ship with 12 GB of memory, presumably backed up by various storage levels and a 6,000 mAh battery. As well as confirming a release date of June 24, Poco has announced the F7 will ship with the leading Snapdragon 8 chipset: "Poco has been drip-feeding us with information about the Poco F7, which will be unveiled on June 24. The brand previously revealed its battery size (7,550 mAh) and charging speed (90W), and yesterday, it gave us our first official look at the smartphone. Today, Poco confirmed that the F7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC." (GSM Arena). Honor Teases Record Breaking Foldable Honor has confirmed that its next foldable will launch on July 2nd in the Chinese market. Previous Magic V handsets have had an international launch a few months after China, and we'd expect the same to happen here. We're also expecting the push for innovation and records to continue in the V5: "Honor has suggested that its new foldable will depart from the current Magic V3 with a more powerful chipset, PC-level productivity and a design that is thinner than the Oppo Find N5 while also being lighter than the Vivo X Fold5." (Notebook Check). And Finally... Following hints at the new features in Google Photos, a deep dive into the pre-release APKs by the Android Authority team has revealed more about the features. No tools have been removed; they are laid out in a more logical fashion, many of the AI tools are now under Auto, and several new additions are included: "The 'Filters' section is also getting some love. A new 'Sky styles' option lets you choose from dramatic skyline effects like Luminous, Radiant, Vivid, Ember, and more. Google has also made a minor visual tweak to the filter selection tray, making it more intuitive to adjust filter strength." (Android Authority).
