In preparation for the nationwide Civil Defence mock drills scheduled on May 7, schools across the country, including in Jammu, conducted emergency preparedness exercises to train students in real-life response tactics.
In one such video, teachers can be seen guiding students through a series of structured safety steps. The mock drill involved instructing students to take cover under desks, shield their ears to protect against loud noises, and move in a half-bent posture while walking slowly in a line to simulate an orderly evacuation. These drills were conducted to build awareness and teach children how to respond calmly and effectively in case of emergencies.

The drills come amid broader concerns over emergency preparedness and are a key part of strengthening grassroots-level civil defence mechanisms in schools and institutions across India.
