KOTA KINABALU: Nazlee Roslee came out on top at the Chocolate Fantasy Runway Challenge (CFRC) 2025, clinching the Best Design Award with a creation inspired by Sabah's Murut heritage and made using chocolate-themed, sustainable materials. The competition, held in conjunction with the Malaysian International Cocoa Fair (MICF) 2025 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Saturday, marked the return of CFRC for its second edition. This year's 'Choco Neo Culture' theme pushed designers to fuse innovation, sustainability, and cultural storytelling in their entries. Organised by the Malaysia Association of Ethical Fashion Designers (MAEFD), the event featured six contestants showcasing designs crafted from unconventional materials. Nazlee, an Immigration officer at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA), drew on Murut traditional wear, incorporating resin, layered fabrics, and glue gun techniques into his ensemble. He credited his model Sweet Chin Yee Hiu and makeup artist Noorjana Rikun for their role in realising the vision, calling the project a team effort despite tight preparation time.

Stacy's homecoming concert draws 3,000 fans

The concert, Aku Stacy (Menggegar Kota U) , marked a major milestone in her 17-year career with a nearly three-hour performance blending high-energy pop, cultural pride, and emotional ballads. Opening the night with Pakai Buang in a striking red, black and white outfit, Stacy went on to deliver a medley of her hits including Cakap Ke Tangan , Not For Sale , Gilalah , Bosan , and Menyala . A standout moment came when she soared above the crowd during Khayal , while emotionally charged renditions of Kisah Dongeng and Pelangi Senja saw fans singing along word for word. Stacy also paid tribute to Sabah's heritage with a reimagined version of Asmaradana , complete with traditional motifs in costume and choreography. A special segment with her husband, Akim Ahmad, featured romantic duets including Die With A Smile , Aku, Kau & Muzik , and Ritma & Rima , followed by his solo performance of Rampas . Guest appearances by Amir Masdi, Elica Paujin, Hafiz Zainal, Dabra Sia, and comedian Atu Zero added variety and local star power to the night's lineup. Stacy also made history by changing into 10 different couture outfits, setting a Malaysian concert record for the most costume changes by a single artist. Regatta Lepa Festival brings Bajau maritime heritage to life

Now in its 30th year, the event serves as a vital showcase for the Bajau people's rich maritime culture and traditions, spotlighting a community whose identity is deeply intertwined with the sea. Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew said the festival symbolises the artistry, heritage and harmony of the state's diverse communities, with this year's theme, Mairan Addat Bangsa Ta or Our Cultural Festival, underscoring the importance of preserving these traditions for future generations. 'Each day of Regatta Lepa features a different programme, so we encourage everyone to come and be part of the celebration. Our government takes this event seriously, as it reflects a beautiful cultural heritage that we want to preserve and continue,' she said at a press conference following the launch of Regatta Lepa 2025 here today. She added that in addition to preserving culture, the festival also supports efforts to attract more tourists, which in turn benefits the local economy. Running from June 24 to 29, the festival features a programme of workshops, symposiums, traditional ceremonies and cultural performances designed to engage locals and visitors alike. Central to the event is the lepa, a traditional single-masted boat, elaborately decorated and paraded along Semporna's waters in a vivid celebration of Bajau craftsmanship. Advertisement Among the highlights are the Regatta Lepa workshop and symposium at the Tun Sakaran Museum, the Sangom Maglami-lami community celebration and the Ratu Lepa 2025 pageant. Exhibitions by government agencies, local artisans and entrepreneurs will also provide opportunities for cultural exchange and economic growth. Earlier this month, the festival set a new Malaysia Book of Records milestone when 1,000 dancers performed the traditional Igal-Igal dance simultaneously during the IGALTHON event, adding to the festival's reputation as a vibrant celebration of heritage. Lawsuit issue: Fazura leaves it to her lawyers

Despite being repeatedly pressed by the claimant as well as by netizens on social media to address the issue, the celebrity has remained silent, going about her daily life, including promoting her headscarves on social media. Speaking to reporters at a press conference after launching the music video of her latest single 'Luar Biasa' here last night, Fazura, 41, said the lawsuit against her company is a confidential matter and has been handed over to her lawyers for further action. Fazura, who is also a singer and television host, said she preferred not to comment further as it involves two separate entities. "Honestly, there's nothing I can explain because we have to understand that I, Fazura, and the company are two different entities. I can't comment on company matters as that is beyond my scope as an individual. The company is the company, and Fazura is me personally, that's the distinction. "So really, I can't say much about the company or whatever is going on. I've left all my company-related matters to my lawyers to take action," she said. Fazura made these remarks when asked by reporters to comment on the RM4.65 million lawsuit filed by a headscarf supplier against her company Pink Fate Sdn Bhd. Advertisement Admitting that she is affected by the controversy, the 'Pisau Cukur' star said such issues are among the challenges any entrepreneur must face. "What haven't I gone through in the past eight months? Of course, I've been affected. I'm not someone without feelings but as an entrepreneur, I understand this is normal. I don't think it's necessary to explain, because outsiders may not understand and could twist the facts," she said. "I know the business I'm running isn't a small one and I'm confident all entrepreneurs out there will understand the challenges that come with being in the business world," she added. According to media reports early last month, headscarf manufacturer Obor Holding Sdn Bhd is taking legal action against Pink Fate for allegedly owing the company RM4.65 million.
