A new cocktail festival is coming to Edinburgh, promising an 'unforgettable' experience.
Somewhere by Nico in the West End will be transformed into a 'one-of-a-kind' celebration. The festival will serve up £5 cocktails, including classics and signature specials.
Guests can expect live music, food, and exclusive offerings. The festival kicks off on May 2.
Somewhere by Nico's operations Manager Abigail Barr said: "Somewhere has always been about escapism - a place to dine, drink, and discover through food and drink.
"We've created an incredible space in Glasgow & Edinburgh, and this Cocktail Festival is our way of inviting the city in to experience it. Whether you're stopping by for after-work drinks, weekend celebrations, or a spontaneous night out, we want Somewhere to be your go-to destination."
Over the 10 days, guests can expect brand takeovers, exhibits, DJ's and plenty of cocktails. Bookings are not required.

Somewhere by Nico will also be running an event in Glasgow simultaneously. Cocktails include Daiquiri, Aperol Spritz, Paloma, Negroni, Tom Collins, and The Grey Goose Tiny 'Tini.
Abigail continued: "If you're a curious cocktail enthusiast or a seasoned sipper, you're invited to experience the magic behind our bars, the talent of our mixologists, and the atmosphere that makes Somewhere so special. With £5 cocktails on offer for 10 days and no ticket needed it's the perfect time to shake things up and experience what Somewhere is all about."

A crime drama that viewers have declared 'one of the best they've watched in a long time' has now been made available on Netflix. First airing in Australia in 2023, North Shore was created by Mike Bullen, who was also behind the comedy-drama Cold Feet. The six-part series follows a British and Australian detective who must team up and investigate the murder of the British trade minister's daughter after her body is found in Sydney Harbour. 'Edinburgh Pride is needed more than ever - things have regressed'

More info Thousands are set to take to the streets for Pride Edinburgh, and the team behind the event believe it could be 'needed now more than ever'. Jamie Love, marketing director for the event, met with Edinburgh Live ahead of the march on Saturday, June 21. With setup underway, and the Pride Village donned with a rainbow dancefloor, Jamie reminded us that people gather for 'more than just a party'. Jamie, who was victim to 'shocking' homophobic abuse on a train recently, feels things may be regressing for the LGBT+ community. Speaking to Edinburgh Live on Friday, he said: "I think we need it this year more than our previous few years. "We all know like there's been so many changes within legislation and government and this year more than ever, I think they've regressed, a lot. There's an activist spirit, you can really feel it in in comparison to other years. "I think transphobia, homophobia is probably the highest it's been in quite a while. It creates an environment where people are afraid." I grew up in the Middle East, where it's illegal to be gay. I love going back for a holiday, but I couldn't live there. It was weird being a teenager and being the only gay in the desert sort of thing." While some question whether pride events are 'party or protest', Jamie feels the Edinburgh event combines both. He added: "There's definitely certain prides that are just a party, but I think with us being in Edinburgh - the march literally starts at parliament. We'll always be a very political movement, it'll always be a protest and have an activist spirit behind it. "The event's for everyone. I would always encourage anyone to come along, and that's the amazing thing, when you stand on stage and you look out to the crowd, it's awesome. It's such a nice, community inclusive event. "That's the unique thing about Pride Edinburgh, which you don't get at other prides of this scale, is that at its core it's still very much a community event." Jamie was on his way home from receiving an inclusivity award in Glasgow on May 31 when an incident occurred, which gives insight into the ongoing need for pride events. Jamie says a man began touching his hair and irritating his colleagues, before the behaviour soon escalated when the man repeatedly called him a "f****t". Jamie said: "The most jarring part is the irony - being recognised for creating safer spaces and driving inclusion, only to be targeted for who I am hours later. It's a sobering reminder of how far we still have to go. No one should have to experience hate for simply existing. The guy got on as three of us were sat at a table but the train was packed. "He got on and immediately went to touch my hair. I said please don't touch me and his friend was trying to push him away. He then started getting aggressive, it was chaos. "That's when the slurs started and he started picking on a colleague of mine. It's weird going from a diversity awards night to that in a matter of hours. It's quite shocking." Ahead of Saturday's event, Council Leader Jane Meagher said: "Once again, all the colours of the rainbow will paint our city for Pride. "With the sun set to shine, this weekend's march is set to be a fantastic celebration of inclusivity and respect and we'll be flying the rainbow flag above the City Chambers to show our solidarity. It's likely to be busy in the city centre with some road closures in place at times, so please do plan ahead if you're joining in the march and have a great, safe day out."

Strictly's Anton du Beke issues apology as he drops show 'spoiler'

More info Strictly Come Dancing's Anton Du Beke swiftly offered an apology after revealing a Celebrity Gogglebox "spoiler". The former professional dancer, 58, is set to feature on the celebrity edition of Channel 4's popular programme, which first aired in 2013, with his fellow Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood. Before his appearance on the show tonight (June 20), Anton joined This Morning's Friday episode, chatting with presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, reports Edinburgh Live. Anton began by announcing, "Gogglebox tonight with Craig Revel Horwood." Alison expressed her enthusiasm for their upcoming stint, responding, "Brilliant. That's going to be great." However, the Strictly Judge let slip a "spoiler" as he disclosed: "Can I say this out loud? We had to talk about Love Island for a bit. We watched a bit of Love Island. Can I say that? Is that a spoiler?". (Image: ITV) Alison suggested, "You probably did, and you're probably going to get in trouble for this." Anton interjected: "I'm probably going to get in trouble. Apologies to Channel 4," prompting Alison to quip, "Thank you for the exclusive." Anton added: "We had a little bit of that (Love Island) and other stuff." Dermot was curious about which residence they chose for filming. Yet, revealing another behind-the-scenes "secret," Anton confessed: "Oh, right, no, we went to a place. I thought.." Before he could complete his thought, Alison chimed in with: "So you had a pretend one (house)." To which Anton agreed: "Yeah." The studio erupted in laughter as Dermot concluded the segment imitating the Gogglebox narrator. Having collaborated for over two decades, the duo joined the inaugural series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2004 and have paired up on the dance circuit even prior to that. They are set to grace Celebrity Gogglebox next to the recent addition Vernon Kay, who is Tess Daly's husband and a fellow Strictly veteran. Anton couldn't contain his enthusiasm, saying: "I'm super excited to be swapping the judges' chair for a comfy sofa! Sitting down with my dear friend and fellow Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood to enjoy a bit of telly on this new series of Gogglebox."
