Daniela Nardini, who became a household name as lawyer Anna Forbes in the 1996 BBC2 hit series This Life, is now barely recognisable from her days on screen. The actress, who also graced episodes of the Scottish crime drama Taggart, was close to quitting acting before securing her role in the acclaimed sitcom.
This Life, which spanned 33 episodes and 11 years, followed a group of aspiring law graduates navigating their careers at a London law firm.
The show enjoyed two successful series and a sequel TV movie in 2007 titled This Life +10. Daniela's portrayal of Anna won her a BAFTA at the age of 57, but she later chose to leave the limelight and now runs her own cognitive behavioural therapy practice in Glasgow.
Her second BAFTA came in 2009 for her performance in the BBC Four drama New Town. Daniela's career also included roles in Vera, Waterloo Road, and The Fades, until she stepped back from acting in 2019, reports the Express.
Pursuing a new direction, Daniela trained as a mental health professional, offering support to individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, behavioural issues, and those affected by cancer and addiction.
Three decades after her breakout role, Daniela has transformed remarkably, embracing a fresh chapter in her life. In a Psychology Today profile, she reflects on her extensive acting career, stating: "I have worked as an actress for over 35 years.

"This has been an invaluable education for me to study what it is to be human and how we can all suffer at times and feel misunderstood and lonely.
"I myself have struggled at times. My practice involves helping you gain insight, clarity and believe it or not humour at times. I don't shock easily so I won't judge."
Speaking with the Daily Mail in 2020, she shared her personal tribulations saying: " went through a very dark period. Sometimes I wonder if it was all the emotional stuff I was going through that caused my cancer.'"
She added: "A couple of years down the road, I now feel as if I've emerged stronger and a better person, really. Anna would be proud."

Whilst the fans may have ditched the cigarettes, there's still plenty of alcohol there to be drunk - as long as they do it safely.' A paper noted 'concern about crowds of Oasis on weekends as they are already rowdy and the tone of the band.' It added: 'Concerned about the safety of the Fringe and its performers. Many performers are considering not attending for that weekend.' Emails show council chiefs have also been in contact with other major cities hosting Oasis gigs - including Cardiff, Manchester and Dublin - in a bid to 'share ideas' and 'best practice for the event.' Loose Women's Penny Lancaster and Rod Stewart have been in Portofino for their wedding anniversary after having travelled to the destination on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express Sir Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster looked loved-up on their trip abroad together this week. They have embarked on a tour of locations that are special to them as the couple celebrate the 18th anniversary of their wedding. Rod, 80, and Penny, 54, got married in Portofino on the coast of Italy in 2007, with the anniversary of their nuptials having been on Monday. The pair tied the knot at former monastery La Cervara and have now returned to the area. ‌ Loose Women panelist Penny has shared updates from the trip on Instagram this week. It included posting footage yesterday from a boat trip as she spotted the cliffside property where she married Rod from the water beneath it. ‌ Penny focused on the wedding venue in the clip and referenced the recent anniversary that she celebrated with her husband in the caption that accompanied it. She told her followers in the post: "Where we said I do 18 years ago." She's since shared photos from the holiday, including one of herself and Rod cosied up together whilst holding ice cream cones. The couple were seen smiling as they stood together. She used a sticker on the post today that read: "I love you." Another photo showed them sat at a restaurant sporting clothing protectors as they eat a meal. Penny teased in the caption: "Making a mess of ourselves". Penny and Rod, in a joint post shared on Thursday, had revealed that they would travel on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express to the destination. Penny shared at the time that they were boarding the luxury train in France. She said that they would travel from Paris, which is where they got engaged in 2005, to Portofino, which is where they had got married two years later. ‌ The post included a photo of Penny and Rod posing outside one of the carriages. She was seen wearing a floral outfit on the platform, whilst her husband opted to board the train in a pink jacket, white shirt and matching trousers instead. Alongside the photo, Penny said it was a "magical" experience. She wrote: "Entering a bygone era @vsoetrain from Paris where we got engaged to Portofino where we got married 18 years ago, it's totally magical @sirrodstewart."

King Charles knew Queen had died after hearing two devastating words

It was a bittersweet moment for Charles as he stepped into the role he'd been waiting for his whole life for. The Royal Family has been through a few twists and turns but it was the end of a long stable chapter for the UK when Queen Elizabeth died in 2022. The monarch served an incredible 70 years on the throne, making her Britain's longest-reigning, and she was one of the most popular public figures across the globe. With the end of an era marked by the Queen's death, it also heralded a new beginning as King Charles stepped into the role he'd been waiting to do his whole life. At the age of 73, Charles became King, a bittersweet move as he was forced to navigate his new position whilst also grieving for his mum, as writes the Mirror. ‌ The Queen was at Balmoral and had been at the Scottish estate for the weeks leading up to her death at the age of 96. On the morning she passed, September 8, 2022, the then Prince Charles was called and told that it would not be long before his mother died. He was joined by his sister Anne, and the pair spent the final few hour's of the monarch's life taking turns to sit beside her, it's revealed in a new documentary. ‌ Channel 5's Birkhall: The King's Secret Sanctuary, sees experts discuss the moment Charles became the new King as they delve into the fact that he was 'summoned to Balmoral" from his own home on the Aberdeenshire estate, Birkhall, which is described as one of his favourite residences. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said in the documentary: 'He was told that it would probably be a few hours before she passed away." Royal expert and journalist Emily Andrews added: "Charles and Anne had been taking it in turns to sit with the Queen and then, I think, as she slipped into a coma, Charles needed a bit of fresh air and some nature. "So he went to the grounds of Birkhall, and it was there that he took the call." ‌ Viewers will discover that ahead of Charles being given the official news of the Queen's death, he already knew thanks to two words that were said to him upon answering the call. Jennie said: "He knew what had happened. "Because he was addressed by the person who rang him, the courtier, as 'Your Majesty' and then he knew, 'Well, my mother has died' and obviously he raced back to Balmoral to be at her side." ‌ It's also claimed in the documentary that members of the family felt relief after their huge loss because the Queen had been able to spend her last days at her beloved Balmoral, where she'd spent some of her happiest times. Emily Andrews added: "I think everybody in the Royal Family, actually, was really glad it happened in Scotland and for Charles as well to be at Birkhall, where it's such a kind of safe space for him, he feels very calm and relaxed, I think was very important'. ‌ After the news circulated within the wider family, Prince William, Edward and Andrew soon travelled to Balmoral, followed a short time later by Prince Harry.
