Milwaukee officer released from hospital; wounded at 46th and Hampton

MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee police officer wounded by gunfire at 46th and Hampton on Thursday night, June 12 was released from Froedtert Hospital on Friday.

Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman and quite a few police officers were there to show support for the officer as his healing process kicks into high gear.
The chief had a few words to share with the media in light of the officer's departure from the hospital.

"I always say this and I say this without any hesitation. Our officers are dedicated to our community 365 days a year, 24 hours a day," Chief Norman said. "Let's appreciate them. Let's thank them. Give them their flowers. Understand that we are here for our community."
FOX6's Ashley Sears asked the chief if he was fed up with officers being shot at and wounded.

"I don't think that's the right word. Frustrated. Disappointing. I understand that we all know that there are some challenges within that community. But we're making this particular type of outreach, this connection to our community intentionally in a proactive and positive manner," Norman said. "We have made a commitment to build trust with a community. We are intentional in our engagement. And so we ask our community and those who have challenges with us; meet us halfway."
What we know
Milwaukee police responded to the area near 46th and Hampton due to recent crime in the area around 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Officers soon spotted two people with guns and chased the suspects.
Chief Norman said an officer demanded one of the suspects, a 39-year-old man, drop the gun. The suspect refused, then gunfire was exchanged. Both the officer and the suspect were struck by gunfire.

Nobody else was injured.
Chief Norman said the two guns were recovered at the scene.

One dead and four teenagers injured after a quintuple shooting in Milwaukee
Milwaukee police are investigating a quintuple shooting involving teenagers that left one dead and four wounded on Friday, June 20. The incident took place at about 10:50 p.m. on the 8300 block of West Brown Deer Road. The 19-year-old victim sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 'fight over social media posts' ended with a fatal shooting, Milwaukee police say
Three family members have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old woman in Milwaukee. The individuals facing charges are 15-year-old Hezile J. Frison and his sister, and mother, Aaliyah J. Frison and Tara T. Hudson. The victim, Ashley Hudson, was Frison's older sister. Frison is charged with one count of first-degree intentional homicide and could potentially face life in prison if convicted. Aaliyah Frison was charged one count of aggravated battery as party to a crime with use of a dangerous weapon. Hudson is charged with one count of obstructing an officer. The shooting took place June 16 around 11 p.m. on the 300 block of West Vliet Street. A fight "over social media posts" took place between the victim and the suspects before Frison allegedly shot her, according to a criminal complaint. Ashley Hudson was pronounced dead at the scene. In a statement, the Milwaukee Police Department said that they are 'disheartened that a family dispute involving a mother, her daughters and 15-year-old son resulted in this tragic and violent death.' JD Vance attacks Newsom and LA mayor while misnaming senator arrested by the FBI
JD Vance, the US vice-president, accused California governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass of encouraging violent immigration protests as he used an in Los Angeles to rebut criticism from state and local officials that the Trump administration fueled the unrest by sending in federal officers. The centerpiece of Vance's Friday visit was a 14-minute news conference, during which he delivered remarks and took questions from correspondents selected by the White House. 'It's disappointing' Michaelson wrote on X, that the vice-president 'did not allow local reporters inside his Los Angeles press event. When a correspondent for the far-right Daily Wire, who was selected by the White House to be the official pool reporter traveling with Vance, asked about a series of Democrats who have been placed in handcuffs recently by federal officers, Vance attempted to joke about California senator Alex Padilla who was forcibly detained by the FBI in the same location last week. By 6:05pm, he was back on Air Force Two at LAX and ready for departure just four and a half hours after he had arrived.
