Pop star Sabrina Carpenter has shared that she would consider banning mobile phones at her future concerts.
The singer cited a recent experience at a Silk Sonic show in Las Vegas, where attendees had their devices locked away in pouches, as inspiration. 'I've never had a better experience at a concert,' she said. 'It really felt so beautiful. Everyone was singing, dancing, looking at each other, and laughing.'
Carpenter, known for her recent hits 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please,' added that while smartphones have become the norm at shows, she values the idea of fans being fully present. 'I can't blame people for wanting to have memories,' she said. 'But depending on how long I want to be touring, and what age I am, girl, take those phones away.'
Alongside her thoughts on live performances, Carpenter opened up about her tour rituals, revealing she does a cold plunge backstage before each show. 'It's me in full glam and stage curls… from neck down, I'm nude,' she joked.
She also touched on her deep creative bond with her sister Sarah and producer Jack Antonoff, who helped shape her latest album.
Carpenter is currently preparing to release her new project Man's Best Friend on August 29, just a year after Short n' Sweet.

Sabrina Carpenter responds to criticism over "Man's Best Friend" album cover on social media

Sabrina Carpenter has responded directly to online criticism surrounding her upcoming album Man's Best Friend and its provocative cover art. After an X user reposted the image and asked, 'Does she have a personality outside of sex?' Carpenter quoted the post and replied: 'girl yes and it is goooooood.' girl yes and it is goooooood — Sabrina Carpenter (@SabrinaAnnLynn) June 16, 2025 The comment came shortly after Carpenter announced her seventh studio album, due August 29, 2025. The album cover shows the Espresso singer on all fours, dressed in black, with a man holding her hair. It sparked a mix of reactions online, including debates about her image and lyrical content. Carpenter addressed this in her recent Rolling Stone cover story, saying, 'They're like, 'All she does is sing about this.' But those are the songs that you've made popular.' She added, 'Clearly you love sex. You're obsessed with it. It's in my show.' The singer's performances on her Short n' Sweet tour have also gained attention, particularly during the song Juno, where she stages playful choreography to match the lyrics. In the same interview, she emphasised the importance of not letting headlines shape her confidence. 'I find irony and humour in all of that,' she said, adding that the only pressure she feels is 'to be funny sometimes.'
