Collision in Etobicoke sends motorcyclist to hospital with serious injuries

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a collision in Etobicoke. (Jacob Estrin) A male motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after a collision in Etobicoke, according to paramedics. Police say they responded to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle in the area of Humberline Drive and Albion Road shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday. The northbound lanes of Humberline Drive are closed at Claireville Drive, and the eastbound lanes of Albion Road are closed at Steinway Boulevard for an investigation, police said in a post on X (formerly Twitter). The vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene, they said. More details to come.

7-vehicle crash causes significant traffic backups on Hwy. 417 in Ottawa

Highway 417 at Bronson Avenue in Ottawa after a seven-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon. (Ministry of Transportation/Camera) Drivers are being asked to avoid Highway 417 in downtown Ottawa after a crash involving seven vehicles Sunday afternoon. Ontario Provincial Police posted to X at 3:07 p.m. reporting a multi-vehicle collision in the westbound lanes near Bronson Avenue. Several lanes of the highway remain closed with one lane getting by, according to Ministry of Transportation traffic cameras. An Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson says there were no significant injuries. Four people were assessed by emergency crews at the scene. Two people did not wish to be transported to hospital. Ottawa OPP remains on scene as an investigation continues. Police did not say when all lanes will reopen. This story will be updated
