A man was driving a tipper truck on a Johor road with its carriage raised when it snagged an overhead electric cable and toppled three electric poles.
The June 10 incident took place at 3.20pm along a road near a school in the bustling Gelang Patah town.
An 11-second video of the incident went viral on social media.
Iskandar Puteri district police chief M. Kumarasan said the 69-year-old driver had unloaded a soil consignment nearby but forgot to lower the truck's rear bed.
'The truck hit an electric cable along Jalan Johor Bahru-Gelang Patah-Pendas, causing three nearby concrete lamp posts to collapse,' the Assistant Commissioner said in a statement on June 11.
Luckily, the road was not busy, and no injuries were reported.
Asst Comm Kumarasan said the driver lodged a police report after the incident.
He tested negative for drugs after a urine test, the police added.
The man is being investigated for careless driving.

Suspected suicide bomber kills 12 in Nigeria's Borno state

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria - A suspected female suicide bomber killed at least 12 people and injured several others at a fish market on Friday night in Nigeria's northeastern Borno state, police said on Saturday. Borno state police spokesperson Nahum Kenneth Daso said in a statement that a woman with an improvised explosive device strapped to her body, infiltrated a crowd at the fish market before detonating it among civilians. Daso said those injured were taken to hospital. Local residents said at least 30 people were injured. Borno state is the heartland of an insurgency - primarily driven by the Islamist armed group Boko Haram - that has been raging for the past 16 years, killing thousands and displacing at least 2 million people, according to aid agencies. Italy cracks down on violence against referees

FILE PHOTO: Soccer Football - Serie A - Como v Inter Milan - Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, Como, Italy - May 23, 2025 Como's Gabriel Strefezza is shown a yellow card by referee Davide Massa after Como's Pepe Reina is sent off REUTERS/Claudia Greco/File Photo ROME - Referees in Italy will now receive the same legal protection as police officers and other public officials, Sports Minister Andrea Abodi said, to help curb a rise in cases of assault in sports such as soccer. A change to the penal code will mean much tougher penalties, include potentially jail, for acts of violence against match officials, including pushing, hitting, or threatening. The move follows months of discussions between the government and the Italian Soccer Referees Association. The law, part of a decree approved by the Italian government late on Friday, extends protection to all officials responsible for ensuring sporting fixtures are conducted fairly. Abuse towards match officials at all levels of Italian soccer has become a growing concern. In December, Serie A referees highlighted the issue by wearing black smudges on their cheeks during matches as a symbol of protest. In one notorious example last season, 19-year-old referee Diego Alfonzetti was attacked when he took charge of a youth match in Sicily. Alfonzetti was invited on to the pitch alongside the match officials before the Lazio-Rome Serie A derby in April as an act of solidarity. "Sport is loyalty and sharing. Those who do not accept it are warned: from tomorrow violent behaviour and aggression against referees will be punished without delay, even with prison," said Senator Andrea Ostellari, a junior justice minister. Russian troops captured village of Zaporizhzhya in Ukraine's Donetsk region, TASS reports

REUTERS/Stringer/File Photo MOSCOW - Russian troops have captured the small settlement of Zaporizhzhya in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region, Russian state news agency TASS reported on Saturday, citing Russia's Defence Ministry. Reuters could not independently confirm the battlefield report. The small village of Zaporizhzhya, which had a pre-war population of about 200 people, is located near the strategic city of Pokrovsk, where some of the fiercest battles of the war have been fought over the past several months. Pokrovsk is a crucial transport hub in the east of Ukraine. The village is distinct from the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, the regional centre and large industrial hub located some 160 kilometers (90 miles) to the southeast.
