Russell Westbrook had a productive season with the Denver Nuggets this past season, but it looks like he may be looking for a new destination after his latest move, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

'Denver's Russell Westbrook is declining his player option for next season to become an unrestricted free agent on June 30, league sources tell The Stein Line,' Stein wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Westbrook spent one season with the Nuggets, appearing in 75 games and averaging 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. In the last few stops for Westbrook, he has played a bench role for the teams, and teams will be looking to add him so he can bolster their second unit.
It's uncertain what teams will be interested, but a report came out recently about someone looking to give him a major contract to lure him away from the NBA, according to Nemanja Zoric of HoopsHype
'Hapoel Tel Aviv has made initial contact with former NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook,' Zoric wrote. 'I'm told the Eurocup champions are planning to make him an offer with a salary never seen before in European basketball.'

Westbrook probably still believes he has a lot left in the tank before trying to decide to head overseas, and he can still help a contender in the league. He was a big addition to the Nuggets, and the chemistry he had with Nikola Jokic was undeniable.
For any team that wants Westbrook, they know he will give his all every time he steps on the court. He has limitations with his efficiency from the 3-point line, but he is a great slasher and can make plays for everybody else on the court. There should definitely be some contenders that look to add him to their roster, and it will be interesting to see who lines up for the former MVP.

Brooklyn Nets jersey history No. 20 - Randy Mahaffey (1968-69)
The Brooklyn Nets have 52 jersey numbers worn by over 600 different players over the course of their history since the franchise was founded in 1967 as a charter member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), when the team was known as the "New Jersey Americans". Since then, that league has been absorbed by the NBA with the team that would later become the New York Nets and New Jersey Nets before settling on the name by which they are known today, bringing their rich player and jersey history with them to the league of today. To commemorate the players who played for the Nets over the decades wearing those 52 different jersey numbers, Nets Wire is covering the entire history of the franchise's jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. The 21st of those 52 different numbers is jersey No. 20, which has has had a total of 28 players wear the number in the history of the team. The second of those players wearing No. 20 played in the (then) New York (now, Brooklyn) Nets era, forward alum Randy Mahaffey. After ending his college career at Clemson, Mahaffey was picked up with the 16th overall selection of the 1967 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. The LaGrange, Georgia native would play parts of the first two seasons of his pro career with the ABA's (defunct) Kentucky Colonels instead, however, coming to an end when he was dealt to New York in 1968. His stay with the team would span just 48 games before he would be dealt again, this time to the (also defunct) Carolina Cougars in 1969. Golden State Warriors jersey history - No. 15 - Phil Chenier (1981)
The Golden State Warriors have had over 600 players don the more than 60 jersey numbers used by their players over the more than 75 years of existence the team has enjoyed in its rich and storied history. Founded in 1946 during the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- a precursor league of the NBA) era, the team has called home the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland, and even San Diego. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Warriors Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. For this article, we begin with the 15th of 27 players who wore the No. 15 jersey for the Warriors. That player would be Golden State guard alum Phil Chenier. After ending his college career at Cal, Chenier was picked up with the fourth overall selection of 1971 Supplemental Hardship draft by the (then) Baltimore Bullets (now, Washington Wizards). The Berkeley, California native would play the first nine seasons of his pro career with the Bullets, and also played for Indiana Pacers before signing with the Golden State Warriors for the last stop of his NBA career in 1981, just nine games. Former ESPN host unleashes scathing Stephen A. Smith attack
Former ESPN host Jason Fitz didn't like Stephen A. Smith's comments about Memphis — and called him out for it. Fitz, who worked on ESPN's digital side and the radio, claimed that Smith is often unprepared during an appearance during an appearance on 92.9 ESPN in Memphis on Tuesday following the 'First Take' host's controversial comments on the Tennessee city. Smith said on the show that while Memphis is a great sports town some NBA starts don't feel safe there., 'But there's an element there where cats like Jimmy Butler and others don't feel it's the safest environment. I'm talking to the local authorities in Memphis,' Smith said. 'You've got to clean some of that stuff up because it's dissuasive to NBA players. They have talked about it. I know. They've told me.' Fitz responded by calling out Smith's preparedness.
