Bears 2025 draft pick profile: CB Zah Frazier
The Chicago Bears shored up their defensive backfield with the selection of UTSA cornerback Zah Frazier with the 169th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Frazier is on the older side at 24 years old, but his measurables are quite impressive with a 4.36 40-yard dash, just under 6-foot-3 and has a 6-foot-8 wingspan. Last season, he totaled 24 tackles, one tackle for loss, six interceptions, a team-high nine pass breakups, one forced fumble and allowed a 35.8 passer rating when targeted. Frazier has elite ball skills, speed and length that make him an intriguing prospect for the Bears.
Here's a quick rundown on Frazier:
The Basics
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 186 pounds
Age: 24
From: Cedartown, Georgia
Breakdown
"Long-limbed corner with low career rep count but impressive production in lone starting season. Frazier is long, fast and athletic but upright and gawky in transitions from off-man coverage. He stays connected to all forms of vertical routes and uses his length/leaping ability to shade deep windows for the quarterback. He sees well from zone coverage and can burst/stride into plays on the football that some can't get to. Frazier will turn 25 years old as a rookie and started only 10 games at UTSA, but his traits, in-season improvement and ball production could make him a Day 3 pick with upside as an outside corner." -- Lance Zierlein
Dane Brugler's Scouting Report
A one-year starter at UTSA, Frazier was an outside cornerback in defensive coordinator Jess Loepp's balanced scheme. A hooper growing up, he bloomed late on the football field, making stops at the FCS and juco levels. He broke out in 2024 with six interceptions (No. 2 in the FBS), a UTSA program record. Most of his 2024 production came in a span of three games against East Carolina, North Texas and Temple (11 passes defended, six INTs), and he was inconsistent against better competition on the schedule (see Texas tape).
Frazier has a rare combination of length, speed and on-ball production (even if it is a small sample). His tall, upright posture will work against him at times, especially when he prematurely turns his hips and invites route runners to attack his blind spot. Overall, Frazier is a long, lean bump-and-run corner with the speed and coordination to cling to receivers and find the football, when his technique stays consistent. There isn't much mystery why a team might feel he is worth the gamble on Day 3 of the draft.
They Said It
"I think he has really good instincts and he's got really good ball skills, so there is a couple plays on there where he turns and he can find it, track it down field, which is a really difficult thing for a lot of defensive backs to do. That to me is what jumped out on tape. Is if the ball is up in the air, it's one thing to have that frame and that length, it's another thing to be able to go up and play it like a wide receiver, which was really fun to watch." -- Bears director of player personnel Trey Koziol

Surprise — Bears QB Caleb Williams Doesn't Like Packers Fans: 'They Suck'

It's no secret that the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears, as well as their respective fan bases, despise one another, as they hold the NFL record with 210 all-time matchups. And it appears that Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is fitting right into that vitriol. Speaking at Fanatics Fest in New York City on Friday, Williams said that Packers fans "suck," as shown in a video captured by Empire Sports Media. "After the game, after we won at Lambeau — 1-0 at Lambeau — we tried to do the Lambeau Leap, tried to jump into the crowd where our fans were," Williams said. "[Packers fans] just started throwing everything at you, push you off. The Lambeau Leap, it's a real leap. It's not a little baby jump, you actually have to high jump, basically. And they're pushing you, pushing your face." The Bears and Packers split their 2025 regular-season series, with both teams winning on the other's home turf. In Week 11, the Packers blocked a would-be game-winning, 46-yard field goal from Cairo Santos as time expired in the fourth quarter. Then, in Week 18, Santos made a 51-yard field goal as time expired in the fourth quarter, which ended a 10-game losing streak on the season for the Bears, as well as an 11-game losing streak to the Packers and an eight-game losing streak at Lambeau Field. In Chicago's two games against Green Bay, Williams totaled a combined 379 passing yards, 80 rushing yards, one passing touchdown, zero interceptions and a 95.1 passer rating, while completing 73.3% of his passes. As for the season as a whole, Williams, who Chicago selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, totaled 3,541 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns, six interceptions and an 87.8 passer rating, while completing 62.5% of his passes. He also rushed for 489 yards. Williams, who started all 17 games for the Bears, ranked 44th among quarterbacks with a 67.6 overall grade, according to Pro Football Focus. Both of the Bears' and Packers' 2025 regular-season matchups will air on FOX, with the first game coming on Dec. 7 in Green Bay and the second game coming on Dec. 20 in Chicago. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams takes harsh jab at Packers fans

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams didn't mince words when talking about Green Bay Packers fans at Fanatics on Friday. Williams, 23, was asked which team's fans he has had the most negative experiences with, and the Bears quarterback was quick to point to the fanbase of the Bears' biggest rival. "Probably Green Bay," Williams said. "I mean, they suck. After the game, after we won at Lambeau — 1-0 at Lambeau — we tried to do the Lambeau Leap, tried to jump into the crowd where our fans were." "[Packers fans] just started throwing everything at you, push you off. The Lambeau Leap, it's a real leap. It's not a little baby jump, you actually have to high jump, basically. And they're pushing you, pushing your face." The Bears last season started the season 4-2, and then they proceeded to lose their next 10 games. They snapped the losing streak in Week 18 against the Packers in Lambeau Field. Williams was efficient in the win, as he was 21 of 29 passing with 148 yards with a touchdown pass. Despite the Bears' struggles last season, Williams's play has given Bears' fans hope that he might be the franchise quarterback they have desperately yearned for. After being selected with the No. 1 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft out of USC, Williams started all 17 games while he completed 62.5% of his passes for 3,541 yards with 20 touchdowns and six interceptions. The first time the Bears play the Packers next season and deal with their fans will be at Lambeau Field on Dec. 7, and then the Bears will host the Packers just two weeks later on Dec. 20. Barton sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was eventually released from Riverside Methodist Hospital into Dublin Police custody, the city said. Barton was then moved to Franklin County Jail. NBC4 reported Saturday that Barton was charged with a second-degree felony count of aggravated vehicular homicide while operating a vehicle under the influence, according to Franklin County court records, which also show Barton has been charged with multiple traffic-related offenses in the past. Barton played at Ohio State from 2003-07. He earned first-team All-American honors at right tackle in 2007. That season, the Buckeyes went 11-2 and finished No. 5 in the AP Poll. Ohio State was ranked the No. 1 team in the country before losing the BCS championship to LSU 38-24.
