Bears 2025 draft pick profile: CB Zah Frazier
The Chicago Bears shored up their defensive backfield with the selection of UTSA cornerback Zah Frazier with the 169th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Frazier is on the older side at 24 years old, but his measurables are quite impressive with a 4.36 40-yard dash, just under 6-foot-3 and has a 6-foot-8 wingspan. Last season, he totaled 24 tackles, one tackle for loss, six interceptions, a team-high nine pass breakups, one forced fumble and allowed a 35.8 passer rating when targeted. Frazier has elite ball skills, speed and length that make him an intriguing prospect for the Bears.

A one-year starter at UTSA, Frazier was an outside cornerback in defensive coordinator Jess Loepp's balanced scheme. A hooper growing up, he bloomed late on the football field, making stops at the FCS and juco levels. He broke out in 2024 with six interceptions (No. 2 in the FBS), a UTSA program record. Most of his 2024 production came in a span of three games against East Carolina, North Texas and Temple (11 passes defended, six INTs), and he was inconsistent against better competition on the schedule (see Texas tape).
Frazier has a rare combination of length, speed and on-ball production (even if it is a small sample). His tall, upright posture will work against him at times, especially when he prematurely turns his hips and invites route runners to attack his blind spot. Overall, Frazier is a long, lean bump-and-run corner with the speed and coordination to cling to receivers and find the football, when his technique stays consistent. There isn't much mystery why a team might feel he is worth the gamble on Day 3 of the draft.

And they're pushing you, pushing your face." The Bears and Packers split their 2025 regular-season series, with both teams winning on the other's home turf. In Week 11, the Packers blocked a would-be game-winning, 46-yard field goal from Cairo Santos as time expired in the fourth quarter. Then, in Week 18, Santos made a 51-yard field goal as time expired in the fourth quarter, which ended a 10-game losing streak on the season for the Bears, as well as an 11-game losing streak to the Packers and an eight-game losing streak at Lambeau Field. In Chicago's two games against Green Bay, Williams totaled a combined 379 passing yards, 80 rushing yards, one passing touchdown, zero interceptions and a 95.1 passer rating, while completing 73.3% of his passes. As for the season as a whole, Williams, who Chicago selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, totaled 3,541 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns, six interceptions and an 87.8 passer rating, while completing 62.5% of his passes. He also rushed for 489 yards. Williams, who started all 17 games for the Bears, ranked 44th among quarterbacks with a 67.6 overall grade, according to Pro Football Focus. Both of the Bears' and Packers' 2025 regular-season matchups will air on FOX, with the first game coming on Dec. 7 in Green Bay and the second game coming on Dec. 20 in Chicago. Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams didn't mince words when talking about Green Bay Packers fans at Fanatics on Friday. Williams, 23, was asked which team's fans he has had the most negative experiences with, and the Bears quarterback was quick to point to the fanbase of the Bears' biggest rival. (Photo by Getty Images) Former Ohio State offensive lineman Kirk Barton has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide following a fatal crash early Saturday in Dublin, Ohio, according to NBC4. According to the City of Dublin, Barton, 40, is suspected of driving a Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck "at a high rate of speed" before entering Historic Dublin, where he crashed into a Lexus on West Bridge Street around 3 a.m. Advertisement The driver of the Lexus, 24-year-old Ethan Perry, died on the scene, according to the city. Barton sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was eventually released from Riverside Methodist Hospital into Dublin Police custody, the city said. Barton was then moved to Franklin County Jail. NBC4 reported Saturday that Barton was charged with a second-degree felony count of aggravated vehicular homicide while operating a vehicle under the influence, according to Franklin County court records, which also show Barton has been charged with multiple traffic-related offenses in the past. Barton is scheduled for an arraignment Monday at 9 a.m., per NBC4.
