HOT DADS WANTED: Habit Burger & Grill X UFC GYM Launch Bold Search for the Hottest Dads in America for Summer Calendar
IRVINE, Calif., May 12, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The grill is hot. The salads are hotter. And now, so are the dads.
Habit Burger & Grill is turning up the heat with a brand-new lineup of fresh, made-to-order salads featuring juicy, chargrilled chicken—so fresh, so flavorful, they've been officially endorsed by UFC GYM. To celebrate the launch, the two brands are teaming up on a nationwide casting call to find America's hottest dads for the first-ever Hot Dads of Habit x UFC GYM Calendar, debuting July 1.
That's right. It's a hot chicken salad drop. It's a hot dad drop. And it's happening now.
'At Habit, we take our salads seriously—and our hot chargrilled chicken even more so,' said Jack Hinchliffe, Chief Marketing Officer at Habit Burger & Grill. 'Our new salad lineup is made fresh to order and topped with chargrilled chicken straight off the grill, never pre-cooked, never chilled. It's bold, flavorful, and ready for the spotlight. Just like our hot dads. And how do Hot Dads like their lettuce? Shredded.'
The new salad lineup includes all-new creations like the Mango Miso Salad and Harvest Chopped Salad, alongside fresh takes on fan favorites including the Santa Barbara Cobb, Chicken Caesar, and Garden Salad. Each one stars Habit's signature chargrilled chicken, flame-seared to juicy perfection.
Salads, often unfairly stereotyped as a 'mom order' while dads are expected to go full carnivore, are officially getting rebranded. Bun-less options don't have to be boring. Habit's salads pack hot chargrilled chicken breast on top of fresh, flavorful ingredients that are as satisfying as they are craveable. They're hearty, delicious, and absolutely UFC GYM endorsed.
Hot dads, meanwhile, will be judged on more than just biceps and bro energy. 'We're looking for dads who bring the heat in and out of the gym,' said Adam Sedlack, CEO of UFC GYM. 'Whether it's meal prep or math homework, story time or strength training—we want the kind of dad who can crush a workout and crush a salad in the same afternoon.'
Six selected winners will earn a coveted spot in the Hot Dad Calendar, launching July 1 and running through the end of the year. Each will also score two FREE one-year UFC GYM Champion memberships, perfect for training with a workout wingman (or wingwoman).
Think you (or your dad) have what it takes? Auditions are now open until Friday, May 23 at https://www.ufcgym.com/hotdads

Legendary Jersey Shore restaurant closing for shocking reason

If you've never been to the Jersey Shore, you might imagine it as the home of the wild parties and debauchery depicted in the eponymous TV series. But there's more to the Jersey Shore than tanning, drinking, and making out with random strangers. People who grew up going to the famed Jersey Shore town Seaside Heights know it as a resort-like area filled with entertainment. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Many 40- and 50-somethings today have fond memories of Seaside Heights' iconic boardwalk, filled with rides and attractions. And while some people may have come for the food, others were there for the beach. Related: Historic Chinese restaurant closing unexpectedly after 42 years Despite being known by haters as the Armpit of America, New Jersey is home to some of the most glorious beaches along the East Coast. And while you'd think beach town dining at the Jersey Shore would consist mostly of hot dog stands and soft-serve ice cream, the reality is that many shore towns boast their fair share of outstanding restaurants with eclectic menus and high-quality ingredients. If you were to take a drive around Seaside Heights, you'd stumble across Chef Mike's ABG - that is, if you aren't a local. If you are, you wouldn't stumble upon Chef Mike's so much as head there on purpose. Before Chef Mike Jurusz took over the famed restaurant in 2013, it was simply called the Atlantic Bar & Grill. Once Jurusz took the reins, he transformed it from a casual Jersey Shore eatery to what can only be called an elevated oceanside dining experience. Related: Beloved Mexican restaurant closing iconic location after 63 years Jurusz updated the menu, added a wine cellar, hired mixologists, and turned the Atlantic Bar & Grill into Chef Mike's ABG. Fans of Chef Mike's know it as a place where you can enjoy a creative cocktail, freshly prepared seafood entree, and outstanding service while staring at the Atlantic Ocean and breathing in the salty beach air. But while Chef Mike's has long been a hidden (or, for locals, not-so-hidden) Seaside Heights gem, its days of serving the Jersey Shore are sadly coming to an end - and for a truly unfortunate reason. In recent years, many restaurants have experienced a steady decline in foot traffic as consumers have cut back on dining out in an effort to conserve funds. But Chef Mike's isn't closing due to a lack of customer demand. Rather, it's closing because the building it sits in is being sold to developers, who plan to tear it down. Related: Iconic restaurant closing its doors after 32 years "Our time is up, you know," Jurusz said in a Facebook post announcing the closure. "A lot of memories were made here." The restaurant's lease is in effect until December 31, but Jurusz is actively shopping around for a new lease so he can reopen. That, however, has been a challenge. In New Jersey, it's tough to get a liquor license - something Jurusz needs - due to local restrictions and limited availability. Despite having looked at 30 to 40 properties already, Jurusz hasn't made any headway. For now, Jurusz is encouraging fans of Chef Mike's to come out and enjoy the restaurant's last summer in its iconic location. Jurusz is also playing around with new menu items to make the coming summer the best one ever. "This is our summer of fun," Jurusz said. "Let's go out on top." Where to Celebrate a 40th Birthday, and Other Reader Questions

Have I mentioned lately how much I love answering your reader questions? Please, please keep them coming — the more niche, surprising and specific, the better. I want to know exactly what you're looking to eat, who you'll be with and the vibes you crave. Drop 'em in this form, send them over email at wheretoeat@ or keep an eye on my Instagram stories for prompts. Looking for a great place to eat before attending a show at Lincoln Center. One person is gluten free. — Diane Great places near Lincoln Center is one request we'll never stop getting, so I'm always excited when I have a new answer to offer you. After a recent ballet matinee, I had a lovely dinner at the Columbus Circle location of Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill. The sushi is what you'd expect: a long list of maki, nigiri or sashimi (divided by Pacific and Atlantic fish), special rolls (I loved one with salmon, yellowtail and tuna) and a few chef's choice platters. And — I just called to double check — they have gluten-free soy sauce. 308 West 58th Street (8th Avenue) Best spot to celebrate a 40th birthday with a large group? And after party bars for that age group. — Allison Happy birthday to you! Or to whomever you're writing on behalf of! I'm not sure how big of a group we're talking, but anytime I hear 'group dinner,' I think Leo. They've got plenty of long tables, indoor and outdoor, and the vibes are festive but the volume never feels like an assault. Pizza is, famously, the best party food, and you can't miss with any of the sourdough pies here. If it were my party, I'd order a few of the San Guiseppe with spicy sausage and onions, a couple rich white clam pies, and some margheritas for the less adventurous. Caesar salads, oiled-up butter beans and spritzes all around. Then, and this is the best part, you're in a great area for barhopping: The Quarter Club is right across the street if you want a pseudo-dive with screens, Maracuja has a pool table and Nightmoves takes big group reservations for their (age-appropriate!) club and light-up dance floor. 123 Havemeyer Street (Grand Street) Want all of The Times?
