Bayer Leverkusen interested in PSV Eindhoven's Malick Tillman as a Florian Wirtz replacment

kicker reports that Bayer Leverkusen are interested in PSV Eindhoven forward Malick Tillman as they look to replace Florian Wirtz.
After the sale of Wirtz was confirmed on Friday, die Werkself can now look to how they will replace the 22-year-old. Instead of looking to find a near replacement for Wirtz, which is close to impossible, Leverkusen will share the attacking burden next season and will try to sign several players.

Tillman is one of those players Leverkusen are interested in. The 23-year-old, who was previously at Bayern Munich, will cost in excess of €30m and can play as either an eight, a 10 or even a winger.
Due to the American international's time at Bayern, Tillman will also count as a local player when it comes to registration requirements. The Rekordmeister also have a €35m buy-back option in his deal with PSV, which could complicate the matter.
Leverkusen have also shown interest in Tillman's PSV teammate Johan Bakayoko this summer, as well as Como's Nico Paz. On top of this, Leverkusen have already acquired Ibrahim Maza this summer, who can also play in the same position.

🎥 OTD: Toni Kroos scores one of the best ever last-gasp goals

🎥 OTD: Toni Kroos scores one of the best ever last-gasp goals Nothing beats the feeling of scoring a dramatic winning goal deep in added time. But Toni Kroos has a strong claim for one of the most emphatic in Germany's smash-and-grab win over Sweden during the 2018 World Cup group stage. Advertisement The reigning world champions looked set for an ignominious early exit after losing their opening encounter to Mexico before facing Janne Andersson's side in Sochi. Things looked ominous at the Fisht Stadium as Die Mannschaft were being held to a 1-1 draw which would leave the fate of their Group F campaign out of their hands. A free kick from an acute angle represented one last throw of the dice with the five minutes' added time all but up after Jimmy Durmaz brought down Timo Werner. What followed became the stuff of legend. Unfortunately for Kroos, his heroics could not prevent Joachim Löw's side from crashing out of the tournament as they lost their next game to South Korea. Peter Steffen/dpa Former VfL Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio is returning to the club as a member of the supervisory board, the Bundesliga side said on Monday in a statement. The former Swiss international played in goal for Wolfsburg for nine years from 2008 to 2017, winning the Bundesliga title in 2009 and the German Cup in 2015, and becoming the goalkeeper with the most appearances for the Wolves. Advertisement "I was delighted to be asked whether I wanted to take on a position of such responsibility," Benaglio said. "Wolfsburg is my club and Wolfsburg is a second home to me. I would love to give back some of what VfL gave me during the most important years of my career." Benaglio made 259 Bundesliga appearances for Wofsburg, putting him behind only current captain Maximilian Arnold in the all-time list "When I took on the post around a year ago, I said that we needed to strengthen the board in a targeted way with sporting expertise. It was always a question of finding the right person – someone with plenty of footballing experience and clear identification with VfL Wolfsburg. Diego Benaglio fits this profile perfectly," said Sebastian Rudolph, chairman of the Wolfsburg supervisory board.
