Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 vs Fold 6
Samsung is preparing to unveil its latest advancements in foldable technology, the Galaxy Fold 7, at the highly anticipated Unpacked event on July 9, 2025. At the forefront of this showcase is the Galaxy Z Fold 7, a device designed to push the boundaries of what foldable smartphones can achieve. With significant improvements in weight, thickness, and display technology, the Z Fold 7 aims to set a new benchmark for innovation and usability. However, some design choices, such as the return of the hole-punch camera, are likely to generate mixed reactions among users. Watch this video on YouTube. Galaxy Z Fold 7: A Leap Forward in Design and Functionality The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to be Samsung's lightest and thinnest foldable smartphone to date. Weighing just 215 grams and boasting an unfolded thickness of 4.54 mm, this device addresses long-standing concerns about the bulkiness of foldable phones. These refinements are expected to significantly enhance portability and comfort, making the Z Fold 7 a more practical option for daily use. Samsung has also focused on improving the display technology of the Z Fold 7. Reports suggest that the visibility of the crease—a common issue in foldable screens—has been minimized, offering a smoother and more immersive viewing experience. This improvement could make the device more appealing to users who prioritize screen quality. However, the return of the hole-punch camera design, rather than an under-display camera, has sparked debate. While the hole-punch camera is known for delivering superior image quality, it interrupts the seamless display, which may disappoint users who value aesthetics over functionality. Other Highlights: Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Watch 8 In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung's Unpacked event will feature the Galaxy Z Flip 7, a foldable smartphone celebrated for its compact and stylish design. The Flip 7 is expected to include an upgraded front display, enhancing its usability for quick tasks such as checking notifications, interacting with widgets, or taking selfies. This enhancement could further cement the Z Flip series as a versatile and fashionable alternative to traditional smartphones. Another key announcement is the Galaxy Watch 8 lineup. While official details remain scarce, rumors suggest that the new smartwatch will feature refined aesthetics and improved health-tracking capabilities. These updates could make the Galaxy Watch 8 a strong contender in the wearable technology market, appealing to users who seek a balance between style and functionality. The Mystery Foldable Device: A Bold Step Into the Future Adding an element of intrigue to the event is speculation about a mystery foldable device. Samsung has kept details about this product tightly under wraps, fueling curiosity and excitement. This device could represent the company's exploration of new form factors or innovative functionalities. Whether it takes the form of a tablet-like foldable or a more compact design, this announcement could signal a bold step forward in foldable technology. For users, it offers a glimpse into the future of mobile devices and how they might evolve to meet changing needs. Sky launches offer on Samsung Galaxy mobile and it comes with £259 worth of freebies
The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is now available for £23 a month - but you'll need to be quick if you want to snap up the deal, as it ends on March 24, 2025 Samsung fans can now spread the cost of a new handset, with the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE available for a monthly fee of £23 at Sky, complete with freebies totalling £259. The network provider's offer includes £100 cashback scheme and a complimentary pair of Galaxy Buds3 worth £159. This deal is part of Samsung's cashback promotion, where the £100 cashback is valid until 24 June 2025. The free Buds3 offer ends the following day on 25 June 2025. It's available to shoppers in a choice of mint, blue, graphite, or yellow. And when it comes to storage, it starts at the same as the standard S24, with a 128GB. The Samsung S24 FE has 'Photo Assist', an AI-led functionality proposing instant photo improvements. Not forgetting 'Generative Edit' for image alterations such as moving, deleting, or altering the size of objects, reports the Mirror. The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE has a 6.7-inch screen, coupled with a versatile triple camera setup at the back. It can also withstand IP68 water and dust resistance. On the phone's camera, tech journalist Chris Hall said: "When it comes to the cameras, you have a 50-megapixel main camera. "This has an ultrawide and telephoto lens on the back with 3x optical zoom. "That's the complete package, and while it's not as good as a flagship phone, you're well catered for. "The day-to-day experience is much the same, with the same One UI software and Galaxy AI features." Other retailers are offering freebies and competitive pricing. At Amazon, buyers can purchase the phone outright for £598. They will also get a complimentary Galaxy Watch 7 and cashback. The Samsung official website has the phone priced at £649 without any additional offers. Reviewing the Samsung S24 FE's overall performance, Chris continued: "The great thing about the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is that you get an experience that's really close to the Galaxy S24+." He notes that although the S24 FE is heavier and slightly larger, with a lower display resolution it boasts the same size AMOLED display as the S24+. However, there are some drawbacks. He said: "It's not quite as powerful and the battery is a little smaller, but it's more affordable, and that's the point." Meanwhile, GiffGaff offers various monthly contracts for the S24 FE starting from £18.03 for a 36-month contract, with an upfront fee of £20.
