'Housefull 5' actress Chitrangda Singh has said this in many of her interviews how she was supposed to be a part of films like Tanu Weds Manu and Gangster. But there is one more film she was doing and that is the 2003 film Chalte Chalte with Shah Rukh Khan. So why did this not happen?
Singh revealed, 'Aishwarya was already a part of it and they started shooting. Some mix up happened and they were stuck in the middle and looking for someone. Aziz Mirza had seen my work and was Sudhir Mishra's close friend and wanted to work with me. They reached out to me, that's what Shah Rukh told me.'

She added, 'This was the time when I gave up work and changed my phone number. So it didn't happen.'
On Housefull 5 success
The actress revealed, 'Nobody knows what the audiences want to watch, what they are going to enjoy. Do they want to watch a thriller or a love story? What is it? Everyone was keeping their fingers crossed all the time. We were messaging each other also 'Fingers crossed.' I am glad that people are happy to see a comedy.'
She even spoke about the idea of two climaxes in the film, she plays the killer in version B. 'At that time we were not told right till the October of last year. Even when we were shooting for different climaxes, the cast was unaware too. Akshay knew and whoever was in the scene knew. Sajid was very clear he wants to keep this a secret.'
On playing a villain in Housefull 5
I think the villain is the most interesting character. The evil is always more exciting. Maya is a very interesting character and there is a reason why she turns evil. I got to do a little bit of action and we mixed with thriller and comedy, it was lovely. I loved playing her.

Riteish Deshmukh Pushes Away Young Fan As He Tries To Get Selfie, Internet Reacts Angrily

Last Updated: At the premiere of Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, Riteish Deshmukh was seen pushing away a young fan attempting a selfie. At the recent premiere of Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, a video of actor Riteish Deshmukh left fans surprised — and not in a good way. Riteish, who is often praised alongside wife Genelia D'Souza for being kind and approachable, was seen pushing away a young fan who tried to take a selfie with the couple. In the clip that is going viral online now, Riteish is seen holding Genelia's hand and guiding her through a crowd towards the screening venue. A young boy in the crowd steps forward with his phone to click a selfie. However, Riteish is seen pushing the boy's hand down and walking away without acknowledging him. The child appears visibly disappointed. Take a look at the video below: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sanjay Tiwari (@bollywoodhelpline) The moment quickly went viral on social media, with many users calling out the actor. Several social media users expressed disappointment over Riteish Deshmukh's behaviour in the viral video. 'First time mujhe Ritesh ka attitude pasand nhi aaya (For the first time, I didn't like Riteish's attitude)," one person commented. Another added, 'Not expected from Ritesh. Very wrong attitude. Sorry, unfollowing you now." One user even tagged the actor directly and wrote, 'Imagine his parents had sent him to take a photo with you. The kid came politely to take a selfie — what was wrong with that? Stay humble bhai, you won't lose anything." Others called the gesture 'rude" and 'disappointing," with one message reading, 'That was incredibly rude. Are these your true colours? Your facial expressions and attitude say a lot — and not in a good way. I expected a grown man to show more self-control and maturity. It wouldn't hurt to stay grounded and respectful." Riteish Deshmukh was last seen in Housefull 5, where he reunited with Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and an ensemble cast for the latest installment of the popular comedy franchise. Meanwhile, his wife Genelia D'Souza returned to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par, which hit theatres this Friday. The film features her opposite Aamir Khan. Riteish Deshmukh had earlier showered high praise on Sitaare Zameen Par, which released in theatres on 20th June. He called it the 'best film of the year', and said that it leaves you a better human being. He praised Aamir, praising his 'incredibly nuanced' performance. Riteish also showered praise on his wife Genelia Deshmukh, saying that she is 'pure magic' on screen, and that he is a genuine fan of her craft. However, he said that the 'true' sitaare of this film are the children who stole the show with their phenomenal performances. First Published:

Jaideep Ahlawat confirms being a part of King, says Shah Rukh Khan personally offered him the role

Actor Jaideep Ahlawat was last seen opposite Saif Ali Khan in Siddharth Anand's Jewel Thief, where his glamorous role left many surprised. However, that very transformation reportedly made director Siddharth Anand hesitant to offer him a role in Shah Rukh Khan's King. In a recent interview with Lallantop, Jaideep revealed that he will indeed be seen in King, and shared how 'King Khan' himself offered him the role after sensing Siddharth's skepticism. Confirming his role in King, Jaideep said, 'SRK sir kaafi time se soch rahe the iss cheez ko, jaisa mujhe pata laga hai, but Siddharth (Anand) bhai thoda hichak rahe honge ki chota part hai to offer after Jewel Thief. But Khan saab, being Khan saab, he said I'll talk to him. Ab unki baat kaun nakarega? (From what I have learned, SRK sir was thinking about this for quite some time. But Siddharth was a little skeptical, because it's a small role to offer after Jewel Thief. But Khan saab said he will talk to me, now who can say no to him?)' In all my interactions with him — in the five to seven times we've met — starting from Raees, where I shot with him for four to five days, and even after that, whenever we met, he always made me feel like I was the closest person to him. He's a wonderful human being. He has some amazing qualities. Every time I've met him, he's made me feel important.' As for King, other than Shah Rukh Khan, the film also stars Suhana Khan (SRK's daughter) and Saurabh Shukla in important roles.

Chitrangda Singh Regrets Saying No To Tanu Weds Manu, Gangster: 'I Made Those Mistakes'

Last Updated: Chitrangda Singh opens up about rejecting 'Tanu Weds Manu', 'Gangster' and missing Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chalte Chalte'. 'I made those mistakes,' she admits. Chitrangda Singh, who was recently seen in Housefull 5, sat down for a candid conversation with SCREEN where she looked back at her 20-year journey in Bollywood. The actress opened up about her unconventional path in the industry, her nine-year-long sabbatical, missed career-defining roles, and how personal challenges shaped her trajectory. Reflecting on her debut film Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and how the years have flown by, Chitrangda shared, 'It's been a very quick 20 years. When I look back, I feel like I have gotten far more than I expected. I don't think I was a very ambitious person. I didn't think I was going to go places. I was quite happy that I would get married and just have a good time; I never had a vision for myself. I feel that everything has been more than I expected. In 20 years, there have been 9 years of breaks in between. 11 years of working and people have not forgotten me, so I feel grateful." Asked whether a film like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi could be made today, she expressed hope for more meaningful cinema: 'I wish films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi get made because cinema should not just be for entertainment alone. There are films to entertain, and then there should be films about certain matters which need to go on record as cinema history. I wish we did more films like that." On her long sabbatical, Chitrangda explained the reasons that kept her away from the screen: 'The first seven years of break were because of my personal life, my commitment to that, and I had a son. I came back, and then I took another two-year break because I was going through a rough patch in my personal life again. In between that also I did not have the kind of work that I was looking for coming my way, so I decided to not be around because I was also going through my emotional ups and downs and I didn't want to do stuff that I won't be happy doing. So there was a rollercoaster of life going on. So yes, I did not do as much work as I probably would have wanted to do." The actress also opened up about the major films she missed out on during that time and how those decisions still linger. 'I have made those mistakes. I said no to Anurag Basu's Gangster. I refused Tanu Weds Manu. In Mangal Pandey, I said no to the role that Ameesha Patel played. There was one more that I am forgetting, and then there was Chalte Chalte that starred Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji, which I wasn't around for at all. They had run into some trouble and wanted to desperately cast someone. SRK had told me this. Saeed Mirza had loved my work, and they were looking for me. Juhi Chawla's brother Bobby was looking for my number. I had worked with SRK on an ad film when he had told me all this." Despite the detours, Chitrangda's presence and impact have endured. She continues to believe in the power of authentic storytelling and meaningful roles. On the work front, she confirmed that another commercial film is underway and that she will be announcing a new project this September. First Published: June 22, 2025, 14:17 IST
