Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors: How the Raptors could pull off this giant deal
Last month, NBA fans learned that Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was reportedly "open-minded" about a trade.
It makes sense that Antetokounmpo would potentially have this on his mind considering that Milwaukee's season ended in such embarrassing fashion. Their future does not look particularly bright, either, considering that their star point guard Damian Lillard recently suffered a torn Achilles.
Several teams have emerged as potential suitors for his services with the Rockets and the Spurs emerging as early favorites. Even the Mavericks caused some whispers after they shockingly won the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery, though now it seems more likely they will simply draft Cooper Flagg.

Many of the other usual suspects are often mentioned when folks speculate about where Antetokounmpo is eventually traded.
But in the past few days, a new team is gaining some momentum as a surprising suitor as well: The Toronto Raptors.
According to Toronto Star reporter Doug Smith, there is "mutual interest" between Antetokounmpo and the Raptors.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst also separately reported that the Raptors are "looking for a big fish" in the trade market.
The Raptors reportedly tried to draft Antetokounmpo when he was a prospect back in 2013 and the superstar has deep ties to Toronto executive Masai Ujiri.
Meanwhile, per Raphael Barlowe, the father of a player projected to hear his name in the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery said that the Bucks have done "background work" to research his son. Milwaukee does not have a pick until No. 47, but the Raptors are on the clock at No. 9 overall.
Perhaps the framework of the deal would involve the pick as well as several other assets on Toronto's roster.
Toronto would also have to include one of their players on bigger contracts (e.g. Brandon Ingram, RJ Barrett, or Immanuel Quickley) for salary-matching and some of their younger assets to entice Milwaukee, but all of this is entirely possible if the interest is as strong as it is beginning to seem.

Insider explains how Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers trade could impact MLB trade deadline
The Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers made the first notable deal just over a month out from the MLB trade deadline, with starting pitcher Aaron Civale dealt to Chicago in exchange for first baseman Andrew Vaughn. That deal could have a domino effect on the MLB trade deadline in July, impacting multiple clubs. USA Today's MLB insider Bob Nightengale writes that Chicago fully expects to trade Civale in July, hoping it can trade the veteran starter for a few 'mid-tier prospects' to a team seeking rotation depth. Meanwhile, the Brewers are reportedly hoping that Vaughn could become an everyday option at first base. Advertisement Related: Reporter reveals how low trade value for White Sox OF Luis Robert Jr has reached Civale is a near-lock to be moved before the MLB trade deadline on July 31. The 30-year-old righty posted a 3.32 ERA with a 17-6 K-BB ratio in his last 19 innings pitched with Milwaukee. He then requested a trade after being moved to the bullpen, landing in Chicago in exchange for Vaughn. Andrew Vaughn stats (career): .248/.303/.407, .709 OPS, 97 OPS+ in 2,451 at-bats The likelihood of Vaughn becoming an everyday contributor for the Brewers lineup is low. Over the last two seasons, he has a 232/.278/.480 triple-slash line with a .658 OPS and 86 OPS+. However, Milwaukee is hoping that a change of scenery to a more competitive team and playing in a hitter-friendly ballpark will unlock something from the third overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft. Related: Milwaukee Brewers owner viewed as potential successor to Rob Manfred If Vaughn turns things around, it creates an opportunity for the Brewers to trade Hoskins. The 32-year-old first baseman has been very productive this season, .754 OPS and 37 RBI, giving Milwaukee a trade chip at a position several contenders are looking to upgrade this summer. Advertisement Based on stats entering MLB games today, Hoskins would be an upgrade at first base for teams like the Seattle Mariners (.622 OPS), Texas Rangers (.654 OPS) and the Boston Red Sox (.737 OPS). Likewise, Civale would be a suitable back-end starter for contending teams like the Red Sox (4.35 ERA), Toronto Blue Jays (4.56 ERA), Los Angeles Dodgers (4.27 ERA) and the Atlanta Braves. MLB insider sheds light on likelihood of Milwaukee Brewers trading Freddy Peralta
The Milwaukee Brewers have earned a reputation for trading high-end pitchers when they are nearing the end of their contracts. With the MLB trade deadline just a month away, All-Star pitcher Freddy Peralta has popped up in trade rumors. Jon Heyman of the New York Post writes that despite immense interest from around the league, it's a 'long shot' that the Brewers trade Peralta. That's because Peralta's contract is extremely valuable. Advertisement Related: Insider explains how Brewers' latest trade could impact deadline Freddy Peralta contract (Spotrac): $8 million salary in 2025, $8 million club option for 2026 season While he is only under contract through 2026, his salary is a bargain for his production. While he last earned an All-Star selection in 2021, Perala entered MLB games today ranked 15th in ERA. He is also in the top 25 for strikeouts and WHIP this season. For context regarding Peralta's $8 million salary, there are 67 starting pitchers with a higher base salary than his in 2025. Next season, Peralta will rank 57th in starting pitcher salaries and that's before extensions and new deals signed this upcoming offseason. Related: Milwaukee Brewers owner viewed as potential successor to Rob Manfred Freddy Peralta stats (ESPN): 2.76 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 90-34 K-BB in 88 innings Advertisement The contract and production are too valuable for the Brewers to move, especially with the club battling for a wild card spot this season. While it's at least possible Milwaukee could revisit a trade this winter, there are no indications right now that Peralta is available. Related Headlines
