Michigan State hockey has added a big-time defenseman through the transfer portal.
St. Cloud State transfer defenseman Colin Ralph committed to Michigan State on Saturday, according to Nathaniel Bott of the Lansing State Journal. Ralph is considered one of the top defenseman in the portal, according to Bott.
Ralph comes to Michigan State with three years of eligibility remaining. In his lone season with St. Cloud State, Ralph recorded one goal and seven assists.
Ralph was a second round pick by the St. Louis Blues in the 2024 NHL Draft. Ralph is from Maple Grove, Minn.

On Sunday, the Spartans hosted a 7-on-7 tournament that has provided a host of new offers. The latest known offer has gone out to an instate prospect, Jayden Evans, an athlete from Harper Woods (MI). A 6-foot-1, 170 pounder, he is most likely going to translate as a defensive back at the next level. He is a member of the 2028 recruiting class.
