Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration, Vice Chairperson of the Government Service Centers Evaluation Committee (Taqyeem), presented the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) with the Gold Shield in recognition of the ID Card Center's Seef Mall – Arad branch's Gold Category classification in the fifth edition of the Taqyeem Government Service Center Evaluation Program. In attendance were committee members, the administrative team, and the judging panel. iGA's Deputy Chief Executive of Statistics and Population Registry, Ms. Dua'a Sultan Mohamed, expressed her appreciation for the recognition, emphasizing that it reflects the visionary leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his directives to advancing efficiency and excellency in government services that meet citizens' expectations and enhance the overall customer experience. Ms. Sultan commended the continuous support of His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), that has been key to empowering the iGA in enhancing service quality, advancing government operations, and promoting innovation. iGA's Deputy Chief Executive of Statistics and Population Registry noted that the ID Center's fourth Gold Category award reflects the team's dedication to improving performance and maximizing customer satisfaction. They addressed feedback from the previous evaluation cycle and implemented comprehensive development plans that significantly enhanced service quality. Ms. Dua'a stated that the ID Card Center in Seef Mall – Arad earned the Gold Category by meeting key criteria, including easy access, clear procedures, and multiple service channels, both in-person and digitally. These factors demonstrate the center's efficiency, flexibility, and strong customer focus, meeting international standards and responding actively to user feedback through the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), as well as meeting other benchmarks.
Ms. Sultan reaffirmed the iGA's commitment to achieving its objectives, enhancing the competitiveness of government service centers, and fostering innovation to improve customer experience. She also praised the team's dedication and strong work ethic that led to this notable achievement.

iGA launches AI Talent Program via Innovation Hub

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) announced the launch of the 'AI Talent Program' during a ceremony at the Innovation Lab at its headquarters in Isa Town. The first batch features 14 top-performing ICT students from University of Bahrain and Ahlia University who are preparing for their graduation projects. Running from 15 June to 15 December, 2025, the program offers a comprehensive blend of academic and hands-on AI work through six months of on-the-job training at the iGA. Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, iGA Chief Executive, highlighted the importance of the training program, emphasizing its alignment with the government vision and iGA's commitment to implementing directives by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communication (MCICT). The program aims to empower Bahraini talent with AI skills to prepare specialists capable of improving government services through innovation. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, University of Bahrain President; Dr. Hessa Al Junaid, University of Bahrain Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Professor Mansoor Alaali, President of Ahlia University. Al Qaed also noted that the AI Talent Program offers hands-on training with AI and digital transformation experts, focusing on teamwork, programming, and the development of AI prototypes for areas related to government needs. The students will work in multiple teams to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and their projects will be documented to support implementing impactful solutions. Al Qaed has extended his appreciation to the University of Bahrain, Ahlia University, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) for their strategic partnerships. He stressed that collaboration between academia and the government is essential to preparing skilled talent capable of meeting digital age challenges. He thanked AWS for partnering with the iGA to train the first batch, enhancing training quality, and supporting student development, in line with Bahrain's Vision 2030 towards an advanced eGovernment. iGA Director of Innovation and Advanced Technologies, Latifa Al Abbasi stated that the AI Talent Program bridges academic learning with market needs by combining graduation projects, practical training, and optional courses as selected by each university. She noted that the iGA aims to empower students to deliver innovative solutions for government processes and affirmed that investing in youth supports Bahrain's future and helps build a knowledge and innovation-based economy. The program's key anticipated outcomes include preparing students for future jobs through comprehensive academic and professional experience, developing innovative government solutions, enhancing AI and programming skills, and providing professional guidance to support their career growth. iGA warns against scam messages impersonating ‘eGovBahrain' and ‘eKey'

The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has issued a warning regarding scam text messages circulating on social media and received by citizens and residents, which use official terms such as 'eGovBahrain' and 'eKey.' The iGA confirmed that these messages were not sent by the authority or its official accounts. The public is strongly advised not to respond to such messages or provide any personal information via the links included. The iGA also denied rumours that the National Portal, had been breached, stating that this information is completely false. The authority clarified that all official messages sent under the names 'eGovBahrain' or 'eKey' are strictly related to eGovernment services and transactions, such as promoting eServices, confirming service completion, or authenticating logins using the eKey. These messages will never request personal or financial details via links. Citizens and residents who receive suspicious messages are urged to contact the Government Services Contact Centre at 80008001 or report the matter to the Cybercrime Directorate via the MyGov app or the hotline 922. iGA Conducts Introductory Workshops for the eGovernment Excellence Award 2025

In line with the official launch of the 13th edition of the eGovernment Excellence Award 2025, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) organized two virtual introductory workshops in Arabic and English languages, targeting participants from public & Private sector organizations, Non-government organizations (NGOs) and individuals. The workshops aimed at familiarizing potential participants with the award's categories, evaluation criteria, and participation guidelines, while addressing participants' inquiries related to the award and submission process which is open until 28 June 2025. The iGA stated that these workshops are in line with iGAs efforts towards reinforcing the public awareness on the award, highlighting the significance of the eGovernment Excellence Award and its role in nurturing innovation, supporting digital transformation, and enhancing service quality delivered to citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The award is also inline with with government directives to achieve excellence, boost competitiveness, improve quality of life, and promote Bahrain's ICT regionally and globally. The iGA also emphasized that the workshops are part of iGA's awareness campaign aimed at encouraging participation and the submission of innovative digital initiatives and projects through an interactive platform for dialogue, questions, and knowledge exchange. During the workshops, participants were introduced to award details and registration processes. Sessions covered this year's award categories, including Public and Private Sector Category: Best Website, Best Practice in eParticipation, Best Integrated eServices, Best Work Environment for Digital Innovation, Best Project for Digital Transformation, Best Utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Best Applications for Smart Devices (dedicated to private sector & NGOs), and a category for individuals for Best Digital Initiative, which encourages proposals for outstanding digital initiatives or ideas.
