'Powerful' Shark fan falls to record low price amid heatwave

Daily Mirror14 hours ago

Amazon shoppers are beating the heatwave with the Shark FlexBreeze Pro Mist Fan that's now cheaper than Shark's own price
Amazon has undercut Shark's price for a cooling fan that's on offer for a record low price. The Shark FlexBreeze Pro Mist Cordless Indoor and Outdoor Fan has been reduced from £249.99 to £219.
A similar deal is available direct from Shark, where the same fan is down from £249.99 to £219.99. Arguably the main selling point of the Shark fan is its misting feature, powered by the portable and removable MistPro tank.
This can be filled with chilled water to enjoy a cool mist outdoors, with Shark claiming it lowers temperatures by up to 6C. The fan can be converted between pedestal and tabletop fan modes at the touch of a button. Simply press, lift away, and enjoy misting and oscillation in both modes.
The FlexBreeze boasts five fan speeds and two SmartBreeze modes said to simulate natural wind patterns capable of reaching up to 20 meters. It also has 180° of side-to-side oscillation and a 55° tilt, allowing complete control of the wind direction.
The fan can be powered through its main plug for continuous power or cordlessly with a battery life of up to 24 hours, with the portability allowing Brits to beat the heat around the garden. For those looking for a more budget-friendly fan, the JYMIPA Standing Fan (£95.99) has received no negative feedback from Amazon customers and is said to be 'whisper quiet'.

Product Description
Those preferring a bladeless fan can opt for the Russell Hobbs Premium Tower Fan (£59) from Dunelm, which boasts a 4.9-star rating and a flexible seven-hour timer. But the Shark FlexBreeze has won over shoppers, racking up a 4.2-star rating at Amazon and a 4.8 at Shark.
One five-star review says: 'The fan is extremely quiet even on higher speeds and acts as advertised, lowers temperatures without mist on, with the mist on outside it works even better. It's expensive but looking at the build quality I'm hoping it will last for years.'
Another said: 'A good powerful fan providing a lovely breeze to keep things cool in the conservatory when the sun is out. The water mist is strictly for outdoors as the spray does generate quite a lot of large droplets that gather on the base plate and will also moisten any items nearby. The mist is perfect for those summer barbecues keeping the chef nice and cool. Kids love standing in front of it to help keep them cool while playing in the garden.'
However, the same buyer added: 'Only drawbacks would have been nice to have more angle on the oscillation and the ability to adjust the height and not just the angle of the fan.'
This happy customer said of the Shark FlexBreeze: 'A must have, whatever the weather. Just another SharkNinja product you never knew you needed. The fan is incredibly effective when used both with and without the misting feature. It's sturdy but easy to manoeuvre and the ability to run for hours off the rechargeable battery is a game changer.'

Tech review: IMILAB EC6 Panorama Spotlight Camera provides a smart way to keep your home secure

My first confession with the IMILAB EC6 Panorama Spotlight Camera is that as of yet I haven't installed it anywhere physically on my house. Down to sheer tardiness on my behalf and not having the time to get the drill and ladders out. I have, however, given it a trial run to see exactly what it has to offer. The main thing being that it has a rotatable 180° panoramic camera. It also has in-built tracking that follows whoever is coming up your drive or climbing your back fence. Security is so important to everyone and it's security devices that can give people that all-important peace of mind. The camera has a lot of tech packed in and one of the great features is the ability to have two-way conversations with people at the door, the same as with a doorbell camera. Unlike the doorbell cameras, this has a really high resolution 3.5k live view with full colour night vision. It can also be used as an indoor camera. The in-built detection software offers a further deterrent for intruders with motion-detected light flashes. If you want, you can also record a message to play, to make it seem like you are at home. I will admit we did record daft messages at first. Customisation is a big thing with this camera. The app lets you take full control of things like playback, recording, and setting the target areas for detection. Everything that is recorded can be stored either via a subscription package, or with a micro SD card, the choice is yours. You can also link the camera up to Alexa or Google Voice Assistant, again giving you a variety of voice control options. Connection can be wired or wireless and you can keep an eye on everything at your home via the app, no matter where you are. The word smart cam is a very apt one because there is a lot of intelligence built into this and it feels like much more than just a security cam. That's something that really surprised me, home security is certainly hurtling along at quite a rate. The IMILAB EC6 Panorama Spotlight Camera is available for £149.99 from Amazon. Reviews "The camera has an audio problem, with the setting at 100% at 5 m you can't hear the alarm anymore, the sound is so low that it is impossible to communicate with the person when the camera is 3 m from the ground, it has a big manufacturing problem with the audio system." "I want to recommend this spotlight camera, provides high quality recordings, waterproof, it serves its purpose. As described, we can rotate the camera 180 degrees from where it was being installed. The images and videos captured are really of high quality one. I opt for continued recording using a micro-SD card, it captures every event like any vehicle or person detected. "No hassle of paying an extra subscription. Installing the Xiaomi app, linking the device was very easy. Once I turn on the device it automatically directs to format the micro-SD card to match the device. On the installation part, the package includes mounting kit which helps for easy installation. Even though I connected using Wi-Fi, it has a provision for wired network too." Ezviz Dual Lense

Tech review: UGREEN trackers help you prevent a holiday disaster or a lost wallet

Have a habit of losing your wallet, your keys, or even your luggage? These latest products from UGREEN may just be the answer to your problems. Officially licensed by Apple, these smart finder devices are designed to keep track of your items and make sure you never lose them again. The UGREEN FineTracker is a square but discreet device that comes with an impressive two-year-battery life before you need to replace it. It's a sturdy and compact gadget which links up to your mobile phone to act as a powerful tracking device. It comes with a built in 80db alarm to alert people when lost. One feature I really liked on it was the Bluetooth tracker which basically alerts you if you venture too far from the tracker. The UGREEN FineTracker is currently available from Amazon for £9.99. Also in the range is the UGREEN fine track slim finder which fundamentally works in exactly the same way, but is thin enough to fit inside your wallet or passport holder. That's down to it being just 1.7mm thick, which does contribute to it having a one-year battery life, but it is rechargeable. The unique selling point here is definitely the sleek design and the versatility that it offers. Both devices have clearly been introduced into a marketplace that has seen a meteoric success for Apple's Air Tags. These are really effective competitors and the price is definitely a good selling appeal to liven up the market. What users say "I also use AirTags. But now only use UGREEN. They are compatible with the iPhone and can then be found in the Where is! App. Where is the UGREEN Tracker also suggests a route to the lost object, with the AirTag only suggesting a search function without maps." " It was easy to set up and the tracker was immediately taken over by the iPhone. The search using 'where is' is pretty accurate. Only the beeping sound when searching could be a bit louder. Otherwise happy with it"
