CS reviews key infra projects, pushes for timely completion
Hyderabad: Telangana State Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao on Sunday inspected the ongoing major infrastructure works in the city. The inspection was a comprehensive review of the ongoing development works to ensure the projects are completed as per plan which are crucial for the city's urban infrastructure.
The Chief Secretary emphasised that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is prioritising the growth of Hyderabad, noting that the ongoing development projects in the city were initiated under the Chief Minister's directive.
On Sunday, Ramakrishna inspected various development works undertaken by SRDP and other departments. He examined the construction status of major flyovers, progress on Hyderabad Old City Metro Rail expansion, foot over bridge development, KBR H-City project advancement and sewage treatment plant operations.
The CS was accompanied by MAUD Secretary K Ilambarithi, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed, GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan, Metro Railway MD NVS Reddy, Water Works MD Ashok Reddy and others.
Initially, the Chief Secretary conducted an inspection of the foot over bridge (FoB) at GVK Mall in Banjara Hills. Later, he reviewed the Metro Line Alignment for the Old City Corridor at Darushifa. Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy outlined the planned Metro Line projects extending from the Old City Corridor MGBS Bus Station to Chandrayangutta and provided a detailed explanation to the Chief Secretary. He emphasised the need to accelerate the land acquisition process, noting that the community has been cooperative so far.
CS evaluated the conservation, restoration, and repair efforts of the Khurshid Jha Devi Heritage Building in Hussainialam, funded by HMDA.
Ramakrishna reviewed the progress of the Falaknuma RoB project. Ilambarthi and Karnan informed the Chief Secretary that the GHMC-related tasks are nearing completion. They assured that the acquisition of five properties for the service road will be finalised after the railway section is completed, with a target to finish within a month. The Chief Secretary has mandated that this be completed by August. They reiterated their commitment to ensuring the project is executed properly and made available, noting that since work on the railway section has commenced, it is expected to be finished by the end of August.
Subsequently, they inspected the construction works over the Musi River at Moosarambagh, highlighting its advantages to the community. When the Chief Secretary inquired about the land acquisition process, officials informed him that additional assets still need to be secured. Following this, they reviewed the sewage treatment plant projects initiated by the Water Board and directed the relevant officers to expedite their completion.
The Chief Secretary assured that funding for the Old City Metro is enough and has urged officials to swiftly finalise the asset acquisition for the project. He emphasised the need to accelerate the flyover construction through the GHMC SRDP and other infrastructure initiatives. He plans to monitor the progress of the Moosarambagh Bridge works closely, assuring the public that these projects will be completed without causing any inconvenience. Furthermore, all sewage treatment plants being developed by the Water Board will be made operational.

CPI demands action against Adoni MLA for making ‘casteist remarks' against Dalit sarpanch
The Communist Party of India (CPI) has strongly condemned Adoni MLA P.V. Parthasarathi for allegedly making casteist and religious remarks against a Dalit sarpanch during a public meeting at Dhanapuram village of Adoni constituency in Kurnool district. CPI State secretary K. Ramakrishna issued a statement on Saturday, demanding immediate action against the legislator. According to Mr. Ramakrishna, the incident took place during a recent event at Dhanapuram, where the village sarpanch, a member of the Dalit community, was deliberately denied the opportunity to come onto the stage. The CPI leader described the act as 'outrageous and disgraceful,' accusing the MLA of insulting the sarpanch based on caste. 'Even while tendering an apology, the MLA mentioned the sarpanch's religion, which is absolutely unacceptable,' Mr. Ramakrishna stated, adding that such behaviour was unbecoming of an elected representative in a democratic and civil society. He said that public officials must act with a sense of responsibility and avoid any reference to caste or religion in their public conduct. 'We demand strict action against MLA Parthasarathi. The government must ensure such incidents are not repeated in future,' he said. It may be recalled that a video from Adoni in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district has gone viral, showing the BJP MLA allegedly humiliating a Dalit sarpanch during a public event on June 16. The MLA is seen denying the sarpanch access to the stage and questioning, 'Is he a Christian?' after learning about his caste.

4-tier grievance redressal mechanism for Dharavi Redevelopment Project launched
A four-tier grievance redressal mechanism has been launched to deal with the grievances raised by the residents over their eligibility or representation in the Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRP) in Mumbai. The system is meant to give a one-window process to residents for raising and fixing issues without going from office to office. 'We want every resident of Dharavi to benefit from the redevelopment project. If any resident feels that they have been wrongly left out of Annexure-II, or there has been a mistake in the survey, we will ensure their concerns are heard fairly and resolved quickly,' said SVR Srinivas, CEO, DRP. The procedure will start after the Draft Annexure-II is released. The residents will have to raise their objections with the competent authority first. If the issue is still not resolved even after the Final Annexure-II is released, then the complainant may appeal through the four-step process. 'The first stage includes the Appellate Officer (AO), who will look into the grievance and provide a response within a given time frame. If the resident is not satisfied with the AO's ruling, the case can be heard by the Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC), consisting of senior DRP officials who were not part of the original survey process. 'If the case still doesn't get resolved, at level three comes the Appellate Committee, led by an Additional Collector who is also not a subordinate of the DRP CEO. This guarantees administrative independence and fairness in decision-making. Thereafter, if the issue remains unresolved, the residents can complain to the Apex Grievance Redressal Committee (AGRC),' the DRP CEO said. 'The AGRC is a quasi-judicial body. Although it works like a court, the cases are cleared faster because the AGRC was set up specifically for DRP-related issues,' Srinivas added. According to the officials, this process has the purpose of making sure that every citizen who is eligible from Dharavi gets a chance to be incorporated and no valid claim is left behind as the project moves forward.
