Srikalahasti MLA fulfils election promise on birthday
Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy has fulfilled a promise made by him ahead of the general elections to build a bridge across the Telugu Ganga canal. On the occasion of his birthday on Thursday, Mr. Reddy formally conducted the 'Bhumi Puja' and laid the foundation stone for the bridge at Kallipudi village, in Thottambedu mandal.
In fact, the MLA had announced the adoption of the Kallipudi village and the bridge. Local residents, who attended the ceremony, expressed delight as the new bridge would significantly ease their travel woes, particularly improving access to the burial ground located on the other side of the canal.
Mr. Sudheer Reddy, accompanied by his wife Rishita Reddy, offered prayers at the famed Srikalahastheeswara Swamy Devasthanam on the occasion and personally distributed 'Laddu Prasadam' to the visiting devotees.
Meanwhile, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh called the MLA and extended his wishes on the occasion. It may be recalled that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the MLA's father and former Minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy were also friends since their college days.

Jagan Mohan Reddy's car runs over YSRCP worker, former Andhra CM named in FIR
YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been named as an accused in a fatal road accident that allegedly occurred when he was on his way to Rentapalla village in Palnadu district recently, a police official said. Guntur district Superintendent of Police S Satish Kumar, addressing a press conference late on Sunday said that upon receiving the information about the old man, Singaiah, who suffered severe bleeding injuries, he was rushed to a hospital but was declared brought dead by doctors. On June 18, Reddy visited Rentapalla to call on a family member of a YSRCP leader who had died by suicide a year ago. The former CM's vehicle went through the Etukuru bypass. "After analysing various evidence, it was found that the deceased was seen under the wheels of Reddy's vehicle," Kumar said. A case was initially registered under Section 106(1) of BNS (causing death by negligence) based on a complaint by the deceased person's wife, Cheeli Lurdhu Mary, at the local police station. After analysing CCTV footage, drone visuals, and circumstantial evidence, "police confirmed that the deceased was run over by the Ex-CM's vehicle in the convoy," said police. Following this "confirmation", police altered the case to include Sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 49 of the BNS (Abetment) and intensified the investigation into the circumstances involved. Other accused include Reddy's driver Ramana Reddy, Personal Assistant K Nageshwar Reddy, senior YSRCP leader YV Subbareddy, former MLA Perni Venkataramaiah, and former Minister Vidadala Rajini, Kumar told reporters. Their names have been added in the accused column, said Kumar, adding that legal action will proceed according to due process and applicable provisions of law, he said.

Tirupati: HRD minister Nara Lokesh appreciated the efforts put in by municipal administration minister Ponguru Narayana in reviving the 150-year-old VR school at Nellore, where Narayana not only studied but also began his teaching career as a part-time teacher. In an effort to fulfil his promise, the municipal administration minister has now revived the VR school with international infrastructure including digital classrooms, state-of-the-art labs and an impressive sports arena with the help of funds to the tune of Rs 15 crore extended under the CSR initiative by the NCC group. With the help of the state municipal administration dept, about 1,000 children from the most underprivileged sections of the society were handpicked and provided admission at the VR school, which is all set to be reopened in the last week of June.

Elderly YSRCP Worker Run Over by Jagan Reddy's Car During Rally
New Delhi: An elderly man was run over by the convoy of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during a rally near Eturukur village on the outskirts of Guntur city last week. The incident came to light on Sunday after several videos surfaced on social media, showing that it was Reddy's car that crushed 65-year-old Cheeli Singaiah, a YSR Congress Party worker, to death. According to the Times of India, the rally carried on with people unaware that Singaiah had been crushed under Reddy's vehicle. Jagan was enroute from Rentapalla village in the Sattenapalli constituency to console the family of a party worker who had died by suicide last year. A massive crowd was following the convoy when the incident took place. According to reports, Singaiah had approached the vehicle to shower flowers on Reddy. As the police struggled to manage the crowd, Singaiah was reportedly pushed down in the chaos. While those near the elderly activist raised alarm on realising what had happened, Reddy's security personnel and driver did not stop the vehicle. Singaiah was later rushed to the hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival. According to the Times of India, YSRCP leaders have given a cheque of Rs 10 lakh as ex gratia from the party to Singaiah's family.
