Chelsea have already signed Liam Delap this summer. The Englishman joined from Ipswich Town and has already featured for his new club at the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup. However, Sacha Tavolieri understands that the Premier League side could yet make a move for another centre-forward during the current transfer window.
Chelsea have notably been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitiké, whilst reports in France have revealed that RC Strasbourg Alsace's Emanuel Emegha will join the Blues next summer. Dušan Vlahović (25) is a long-term target, too, and an option that could be revisited, according to Tavolieri.

The journalist understands that it has been agreed that the Serbian will leave Juventus this summer. That is the player's wish and that of the club. Chelsea are following Vlahović's sitauation and could yet make a move.
The centre-forward has recently rejected offers from Turkey, however, Tavolieri understands that Vlahović would also be open to a move to Saudi Arabia.

This is the Star tip for Tuesday racecard at Brighton

William Haggas' Kinswoman can come good in the Download The Star Sports App Maiden Stakes over six furlongs on a Tuesday card at Brighton. The Cheveley Park-owned and bred filly is the Press Association pick. Advertisement She had been placed in all four runs to date, snipping down the losing margin the last twice when gaining more experience. Over-enthusiasm has perhaps hampered her, but there is clear ability in the bloodline as she is a half-sister to six winners – including Group horses Audience and Esquire. Jack Channon has his string in great form and Banksman can notch complete his hat-trick in the Star Sports Handicap. Beaten a short head over this course and distance at the start of the month, he has since rattled up wins at Yarmouth and Lingfield. He has to carry a 6lb penalty for the latter of those and while that will make his life tricky in a tight four-runner affair, in low-grade racing it usually pays to side with those runners in form. Advertisement Elsewhere, Stardinia can get off the mark at the third time of asking in the Compton Beauchamp Fillies' Restricted Novice Stakes at Newbury. She is by first-season sire Starman – who is making a great name for himself in his second career – and has already shown form worthy of winning a race such as this. On her debut in what look an ordinary run of the mill affair at Leicester she had the misfortune of bumping into Clive Cox's Coppull. That form has subsequently been well franked, as despite being an unconsidered 66-1 chance in the Coventry Stakes last week Coppull finished a fine third. Stardinia has run at Ascot since in quite a valuable affair and while she was only fifth, the form is pretty solid. Advertisement In the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes it is Eve Johnson Houghton's Mystic Moment who catches the eye. The Time Test filly has run twice to date and been the runner-up both times, coming home a length and three quarters behind the winner on her debut at Kempton in May. Her next run was a switch to turf at Goodwood earlier in June, where she progressed to go down by just a neck over the same six-furlong trip. She now steps up in trip and considering her dam stayed a mile and a half, she should have no concerns with seeing out an extra furlong at Newbury.

ENG vs IND 1st Test: Sunil Gavaskar asks Rishabh Pant to do somersault celebration, here's what Pant responded

By Aditya Bhagchandani Published on June 23, 2025, 19:51 IST During the gripping Day 4 action of the 1st Test between England and India at Headingley, legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar cheekily requested Rishabh Pant to bring back his iconic somersault celebration after scoring his second century of the match. Pant, who reached his second ton with a composed single off Shoaib Bashir, had just become only the second wicketkeeper in Test history to score centuries in both innings of a Test match. As commentators reflected on the landmark feat, Gavaskar lightheartedly said on-air, 'Pant should do a somersault now, like the one he did before.' His comment was a nod to Pant's earlier flamboyant celebration style, which had once gone viral. Later, when asked about it, Pant responded with a smile, 'This time, I thought I'd let the bat do the flipping.' His witty reply added charm to an already memorable day for Indian cricket fans. Pant's restrained celebration showcased his growing maturity, even as he continued to entertain with the bat. From Gavaskar's playful request to Pant's cool-headed reply, the moment added a light-hearted touch to a historic Test performance. How many runs does team India need to defend against England? Here is what record at Headingley, Leeds show

By Aditya Bhagchandani Published on June 23, 2025, 19:34 IST India continued to assert dominance on Day 4 of the 1st Test against England at Headingley, Leeds, with the visitors reaching 253/3 in their second innings. Led by KL Rahul's stoic 106 (off 210 balls) and Rishabh Pant's aggressive 95* (off 111 balls), India now hold a commanding 259-run lead with more than a day's play remaining. This comes on the back of a formidable 161-run unbeaten stand between Rahul and Pant, frustrating the English bowlers who are yet to break through in the second session. Shoaib Bashir and Brydon Carse, despite their efforts, have failed to pick up a wicket as India's scoring rate held steady at 3.87 runs per over. As the game heads into a crucial final phase, history doesn't favour England. The highest successful chase at Headingley remains Australia's 404/3 in 1948. Since then, even England's dramatic 359-run chase in 2019 and the recent 254/7 chase in 2023 stand out, but none exceed India's current lead. Here's a quick look at the top successful run chases at Headingley: Rank Team Target Score Overs RPO Opponent Year 1 Australia 404 404/3 114.1 3.53 England 1948 2 England 359 362/9 125.4 2.88 Australia 2019 3 West Indies 322 322/5 91.2 3.52 England 2017 4 England 315 315/4 73.2 4.29 Australia 2001 5 England 296 296/3 54.2 5.44 New Zealand 2022 6 England 251 254/7 50.0 5.08 Australia 2023 7 England 219 219/7 80.2 2.72 Pakistan 1982 8 England 184 186/5 52.4 3.53 South Africa 1929 9 Pakistan 180 180/7 50.4 3.55 Australia 2010 10 West Indies 128 131/2 32.3 4.03 England 1984 With India's lead stretching beyond several of these records, the challenge for England is monumental. If they are to pull off a miracle, it would demand one of the greatest fourth-innings performances in Test history.
