2025 NFL draft: New Orleans Saints paying close attention to UTSA cornerback prospect
The New Orleans Saints have had a few prospects on their list from the 2025 NFL draft class that they have shown increasing interest in. Between their three noted official 30 visits to some specific private workouts with players, they have been certainly doing their due diligence on this class to ensure they have a grasp of who they would like to select.
One of the players they recently met with is UTSA cornerback Zah Frazier, and not only that, they were one of three teams to send either a coach or scout to specifically watch him. In a recent report by Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, he clarified this information, stating the following information regarding the workout: "The Saints, Falcons, and San Francisco 49ers sent coaches and scouts specifically to watch Frazier, who has a fifth-round grade on my board."
Frazier is an exceptionally fast cornerback with solid size and had an absolutely outstanding 2024 season in terms of production. Last year he put up 24 total tackles (20 solo, 4 assisted), 9 pass deflections, 1 forced fumble, 1 tackle for loss, and a whopping 6 interceptions. In his first two years at UTSA he had none, granted he only played five games in 2023, so that can be taken with a grain of salt.
He ended up receiving an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine, and torched it, putting up a 9.43 RAS via Kent Lee Platte. This came on the back of a 4.36-second 40-yard dash and a 1.47-second 10-yard split, as well as an over 10-foot broad jump.
The Saints no doubt have a strong need at the cornerback position, and adding quality players with positive traits to work with is the way to fix that. Frazier has shown a season of high-level production, and put up strong athletic testing, so he could be someone worth looking at for the Saints on Day 3 of the draft.

Latest Trade Proposal from Media Sends Micah Parsons To NFC Rival

Latest Trade Proposal from Media Sends Micah Parsons To NFC Rival originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Micah Parsons has been the lifeblood for the Dallas Cowboys defense since arriving at The Star four years ago. Few players league-wide on either side of the ball have the same tangible impact as Parsons on the field. Advertisement The time has come for the defensive star to get his first of likely multiple major pay days in his career. This did not sneak up on the Cowboys, but they are clearly in no rush to get this deal done. That's the norm for the Cowboys as frustrating as it may be. The same plot played out last season with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb with Prescott's extension not coming until hours before kickoff. Parsons' loyalty to the Cowboys is unquestioned. Amid these contract disputes with the team he has remained around the team and participated minimally at mandatory minicamp this week. But until the ink dries on that piece of paper – gearing a salary we bet is now going to be in excess of $40 million per year – fans will continue to speculate about what his future looks like. That's why the latest proposal from Anne Erickson at Heavy has him headed to an NFC rival in the Detroit Lions. Advertisement The Cowboys would return a second- and fourth-round draft pick in this theoretical deal. A pairing of Micah Parsons and budding star Aidan Hutchinson would test the limits of the best offensive lines in the league. But that's more likely to happen at the Pro Bowl Games or on a Madden video game. We can argue that there is not a price that can be put on a player who provides production, leadership and wants to stay put. No amount of wish casting will change that reality. But as insider Mike Fisher notes: 'A 2 and a 4? This is peak silliness.' Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has work to do on his end, specifically in amending the relationship with Parsons' agent. But the player and the owner maintain a strong relationship, so those personal conversations are ongoing. Advertisement This waiting game will likely cost the Cowboys once again, but there's hardly any reason to believe No. 11 will not be suiting up for Dallas through the coming years. Dolphins' Tyreek Hill Begs for Jalen Ramsey to Return

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill Begs for Jalen Ramsey to Return originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The latest drama in the Dolphins' Jalen Ramsey situation came from receiver Tyreek Hill earlier today. At Fanatics Fest, Hill said he's going to get Ramsey back in a Dolphins' jersey. "I'm going to hangout with Ramsey today, so I'm going to get him back. Full-court press, I'm getting him, Ramsey, back in a Dolphins jersey," Hill said. "I don't care what they say - tampering, whatever - we need Ramsey. He's a dog. He's one of the best corners in the league, man. Great leader, great teammate too, though. That's what he doesn't get a lot of credit for. We just need him on the Dolphins man." Advertisement Ramsey and Dolphins mutually agreed to find a trade partner early in the offseason. However, Ramsey remains a Dolphin with less than a month until training camp begins. This week, multiple reports and hints came out of where Ramsey landing spot could be. Ramsey followed multiple Steelers' players on Instagram, potentially indicating him ending up in Pittsburgh. Adam Schefter reported yesterday that Ramsey has interest in playing for a West Coast team, either the Chargers, 49ers or the Rams. The Rams have been heavy in the Ramsey conversation since the beginning, with the cornerback playing four years with the Rams and winning a Super Bowl. Many believed a reunion would be the perfect landing spot for Ramsey. Advertisement However, Sean McVay said it would take a lot of work to figure out a way to bring Ramsey back to the Rams. There seems to be a lot of uncertainty as to where Ramsey will be playing in 2025. According to Schefter, it'll be on the West Coast. But, Hill is going to do his best to keep Ramsey in Miami for now. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 21, 2025, where it first appeared.

NFL top 100 player rankings include 11 NFC West players

The 49ers have five players in CBS Sports' top 100 players. A total of 11 in the NFC West make the cut. This part of the offseason brings lists and rankings of all sorts for the NFL. CBS Sports' Pete Prisco put together his yearly rankings of the 100 best players in the NFL for 2025. The Cardinals will face 39 of the players on the list in 2025. In the NFC West, 11 players are in the top 100. NFL top 100 players in NFC West McBride is the only player for the Cardinals who makes the list. While he is certainly worthy, RB James Conner and S Budda Baker are notable absences. It is interesting that QB Matthew Stafford isn't on the list. RB Kyren Williams has also been very good. Likewise, no DT Kobie Tuner, who has 17 sacks in two NFL season, is a notable snub. Of the Cardinals' opponents in 2025, the 49ers are tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the most players on the list. The Seahawks have two defensive cornerstones. They deserve to be here.
