International Yoga Day celebrated with great enthusiasm across state
1 2 3 4 Kolhapur: International Yoga Day was celebrated across the state on Saturday with great zeal through various activities and yoga demonstrations. Yoga poses such as Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, Vajrasana, and Ardha Halasana were performed, along with pranayama and meditation. In Kolhapur city, yoga sessions took place at schools, colleges, the university, parks in the city, govt offices, the collector's office, Rankala lake, and other locations. A special Yoga Day event called 'Times of Yoga' was organised jointly by The Times of India and Shantiniketan School on the school campus on Saturday morning. Hundreds of school students participated in the yoga session, performing several yoga poses on the occasion. "Yoga is not just a routine but an integral part of a healthy lifestyle. All citizens, especially students, should practice yoga regularly," said district collector Amol Yedge. Yoga manifests at ghats, parks, instt in city
1 2 3 4 Varanasi: Amidst light showers, several group sessions of yoga were held at ghats, parks and academic institutions in the city on International Yoga Day on Saturday. A programme was organised at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham in the presence of Suresh Khanna, UP finance and parliamentary affairs minister and district in charge. After virtual address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, yoga session commenced. Khanna spoke about importance of yoga in life and recommended regular practice for good health. He praised the Prime Minister's efforts in establishing yoga on the global stage. Those who participated in the event included district panchayat president Poonam Maurya, former minister and MLA Neelkanth Tiwari, MLC Hansraj Vishwakarma, BJP city president Pradeep Agrahari, managing director of UP jal nigam (rural) Rajshekhar, district magistrate Satyendra Kumar, ADM City Alok Verma, along with administration officials, public representatives, NDRF personnel and a large number of people. The event was attended by district youth welfare officer Nitish Rai, former regional welfare officer Awadhesh Narayan Singh, gram pradhan Chandapur Rajendra Prasad Patel and others. A programme was organised by forest and wildlife department, Varanasi forest division, at the lawn in Sarnath Deer Park and Zoo. Ravi Kumar Singh, forest conservator/regional director, Varanasi Circle, along with other forest department officials and employees, attended the event. Members of the Ganga Task Force and their commanding officer were also present with their team. All regional forest officers, deputy regional forest officers, forest inspectors and forest guards participated in yoga practice.
