5 of Kim Woodburn's top cleaning tips and tricks to remember

The TV star featured alongside Aggie MacKenzie, and together the pair would visit dirty homes and proceed to clean them, sharing tips and tricks as they went.

Here are some of Kim's top cleaning tips to embrace around your home, as she leaves an iconic cleaning legacy behind, following her death at the age of 83.
A few years ago, Kim collaborated with Poundland and created a selection of cleaning essentials.
At the time, she told the Express that cleaning with a dustpan and brush was 'essential'.
She advised: "Use a dustpan and brush, every day. This means when you're cleaning the floor, you can just sweep up any small mess and you don't have to get your vacuum out again.
"Use it for the dog's hair and crumbs from your children and even us adults."
Kim added: "Just before bed get the pan and brush and have a quick sweep up.
"It's a handy help to everyone in the home and always good to have a stiff brush.
"My new dustpan and brush are pretty in pink and will do just the job."
According to The Sun, Kim shared that you should wet your hand and run it along a feather duster before using it around your home.
This makes it slightly damp to pick up dust without it spreading.
Kim continued: 'Leave to dry then shake it out before re-using.'

5-minute fridge clean with Bicarbonate of Soda
Kim also previously told The Sun about a five-minute fridge clean she recommends 'every couple of months' using Bicarbonate of Soda: 'Once every couple of months, take all your fridge compartments out – it takes five minutes.
'Get a nice towelling cloth and some warm water. Dip it in bicarb, get cleaning and soon it's spotless.
'Do not leave your fridge for more than two months without a blitz. When you start going over that timeframe, by God, you're asking for trouble.'
Meanwhile, the TV personality once warned that if you don't clean your toaster properly, you could risk starting a fire in your kitchen.

She explained: 'Take out the tray at the bottom of your toaster at least once a week. Whip out an old newspaper and thump that toaster and the crumbs all come out.
'Then roll up the paper, dear, and throw it away. People say: 'Oh, my toaster smells of burning.' Yes, it's year-old breadcrumbs, you lazy pigs. You don't want to start a fire.'
There are many ways to clean an oven, including removing tough grease and grime, but Kim's top tip was to 'cut old towels into strips and dip in some warm soapy water with a bit of Bicarbonate of Soda'.

Andy Carroll and Lou Teasdale 'disappointed' after police called over row

Footballer, Andy Carroll, and his girlfriend, Lou Teasdale, admitted that the police were called after the couple had a 'heated discussion', which they say was 'blown out of proportion' Andy Carroll and his hair stylist girlfriend, Lou Teasdale, have admitted they were spoken to by police following a row between the couple on the Greek island of Mykonos. The pair, who have been dating since last year following the footballer's split with the mum of his three kids, Billi Mucklow, revealed they'd had a "heated discussion" while on the party island, but that things had been "blown out of proportion". Andy, 36, was reportedly questioned about a bust-up he'd had with Lou, 42, at a packed beachside restaurant and then at their hotel. One worker at the Nikolus Tavern said of the first argument: 'We recognised him as the footballer Andy Carroll immediately. He seemed very drunk and furious with his partner. He was using very bad words. It was improper behaviour. The woman looked very upset.' ‌ ‌ The Sun reports that police arrived and took the former West Ham ace, who was "very calm" to one side for a chat. He was later allowed to return to Lou, who is a well-known celebrity hairstylist. However, hours later police were reportedly called again by staff after reports of damage to the couple's room at a £500-a-night boutique hotel. Officers are said to have escorted Andy to a local station for questioning but no arrests were made. Another source claimed Lou did not stay with her boyfriend that night. They said: "After the restaurant episode, there was another incident at the hotel. This time, the footballer went to the police station. We know the woman stayed somewhere else that night.' Meanwhile, a British holidaymaker who reportedly spotted the pair while out for a stroll accused Andy of being "very drunk" adding that he shouted at Lou: "I'm done with us!" ‌ Responding to the reports, Andy and Lou admitted that the police were called following their "heated discussion", however they insisted things had been "blown out of proportion", issuing a joint statement, which read: "Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion. 'As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. No one was arrested, and no one was charged with anything. "We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together, and we are disappointed that a private disagreement has become a public matter.'

More info Len Fairclough actor from Coronation Street, Peter Adamson, passed away at 72 in his Bury home back in 2002, living as a "virtual recluse" after his acting career ended in the '80s. He had famously played Len for 1,730 episodes on Corrie, from 1961 until 1983, marking the end of his acting endeavours when he faced accusations of indecently assaulting two eight year old girls while working as a swimming instructor at Haslingden Baths. Though cleared of charges at Burnley Crown Court, his subsequent actions caused controversy with ITV authorities. Adamson sold his story to The Sun during a period of intoxication and seemed to confess in a garbled discussion. His interview included: "I am totally guilty of everything the police said. But what I hope you will print - there was no sexual intent." The actor was known for his heavy drinking on set and by the late 1960s, he had racked up a hefty debt to Inland Revenue, leading to his suspension from Corrie in 1969 due to his alcoholism. The legal costs from his trial only added to his financial troubles, and when his wife Jean passed away shortly after the trial, Adamson's situation deteriorated further. His final roles included radio acting gigs and a West End performance in Dial M for Murder, as well as a role in Vanburgh's The Relapse in 1988. The actor left behind two sons when he passed away in 2002.
